 PM: Sent: Happy birthday!

Want to spare the community, and you, the embarassment of creating a bloody thread. As I reckon it, you're not the attention-whore type of moderator anyway.

So, here, a complete waste of your life, a wholy random person wishes you a happy birthday! Or "may all your sechs be good", as they say in GW.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
BON ANNIVERSAIRE
GRATTIS PÅ FÖDELSEDAGEN

Live long.

going through my PM-archives on a whim, found this old thing. It all feels so goddamn recent still. :(

It's been a long time since I posted here. I've been lurking around the forums for a long good while now - you could definitively say that I've moved on from GW.

But back when I was leaving here, this thread emerged. And I've been coming back if not daily, then at least once a week to check back on Steel. I never really hade any doubts that he would pull through, because like to many of you he was something of an idol to me. When I was in a dark place and started hanging out here, I found this "really cool internet guy" who was a nice and fierce mother of a man, who'd tell the best stories and pull the best pranks. I never really talked to him much, but sometimes seeing as believing. This coupled with the good community left a nice focal point for my creativity and escapism, and it didn't take long for me to emulate his mannerisms outside this forum.

Today I'm in a really bright spot, with an absolutely brilliant girlfriend who I've been going steady with for sooner three years, a good paying job that evolves me, snazzy apartment, good friends and future prospects: I'm going to be a doctor, and I'm going to work with MSF, to try and make a difference out there.

You guys, and a lot of Steel, heped me pull through and made me a smarter and more creative mind. The skills I aquired by the computer back then gave me a huge trip around the world on a scholarship and my first big job - from there the pieces just fell into place.

There's nothing much left for me here. Amark, as I learned during this thread was his name, as has passed from real life. This is an utter fucking tragedy. He could've been anything, this giant legend of a fuckin' man. Instead he shall remain a legend, a paragon in at leats a small chamber of my heart.

My condoleances to his family. Should I ever become what I want to be, I'll have a medical shelter opened somewhere they really need it - and put Steel somewhere in it as a small tribute.

Rest in peace. :(

gankutsuou borrows liberally from dumas, but its not as much a plagiat as it is a pastich! of course theres japanese confusion and the following adapation doesnt ring as true as it could've, but it's different.

viewed as a stand-alone story with some monte cristo cameos and analogies, however, it's a treat! and man oh man, the animation style might just be one of the better eye candies i've ever feasted on.

check ign australia's take on the same game bro! they judge with a whoppin 8.5... oh the scores

In all seriousness though, I'd wager a rental first. I haven't played it but when in doubt a rental usually decides it for me!

played this last night in a real cinema that my friend operates, with said friend. i was first deterred by the game's splitscreen (who am i kidding i just really hate split-screen) and couldn't imagine playing the game with the ammo-suckin' ai. but after playing it on a screen that erases the "splitscreen-effect" of not seeing enough, and eliminating the friendly ai simultaneously, this game turned out awesome good!

and the sound was greta in full surround. speaking of sound, having these cinema chairs with people screaming and giving tips and whatnot in anticipation really turned the mood up a notch!

as i've understood it, the more you stretch, the more you can report to the "sun" in the middle of a system, who'll stretch the female counterpart to BOY (aka GIRL). as all the people in the world does this simultaneously at all times, GIRL grows and envelops the universe, granting more levels and playpieces all the while a growing parade of randomly generated characters representing the contributing players march on top of GIRL, around the universe.

so, it's a playground, but when enough people has played (aka risk getting bored) the game expands.

did i miss anything?

seeing as how she's in australia for two more months (with four behind us), i made a movie of all the places that mean something to us as a couple, peaking with me suddenly stripping and swimming in the arctic sea. then there was much talking and texting and whatnot.

by the measures of my stale world it has been a grand day!

My rural, mercantile Swedish town has a wikipedia article in English. But I guess we're pretty famous in our country for having the largest ratio ever of natives to city folk wanderin' our streets in the summer - something around 6 to 1. Also, we're the hosts of a smaller tennis tournament that has more bang than buck. In a minor note, I work as the head of logistics at the tournament every summer. This information isn't on wikipedia yet!!
