What I want to see is one of these social games which are actually pleasant to inhabit and is made by thoughtful people

Maybe Animal Crossing is the game for you, bub. (no seriously, Animal Crossing is the best game and I hope more are being made)

Good choice on trading in Skyrim though.

Also, thanks for the review! I just went from a "not gonna buy Catherine cause of money but I WANT to" to "not gonna buy Catherine". I think there is an indie game with identical gameplay about a robot or something so if the gameplay experience itself was enjoyable but not the theme/plot/whatever then maybe that robot game is something I should track down (i love movin blocks)

I started watching this and then remembered I'm only halfway through the movie myself, so I had to shut it off to avoid spoilers.

I liked what I saw, though.

Actually yeah, after saying that. I sort of thought about using basic genjutsu on goku would wind up being the equivalent to that gif vellfire posted of scraggy.

Speaking of which, prod absolutely needs to be a legitimate canon pokemon move. I dare someone to try and argue this with me.
It would pretty much be identical to Swagger. There would be no point.

EDIT: unless it was something like, raises the target's attack, and taunts them.
For casual play, it would be near useless.
It would never be allowed to see competitive play.

What exactly do you not understand?
You have variables, which store information, and conditions/fork statements, which depending on input perform different outputs.

That's exactly what I don't understand
Okay:
A variable is like a little digital sheet of paper. You give it a name by which you can later reference it, and a value, which is what you write on the paper. So for example, you have a variable named One, equal to 1.

Now you can reference that variable later in your program (assuming the same scope but really let's not go in to that, esp. because this is RPG Maker and I don't think it matters) by asking for the value of One, or setting the value of One to something else.

Conditionals are... like how do I even explain this? The tutorial pretty effectively said what it needed to on all points but... You have a set of circumstances where different things will happen.
IF One [is ][/is] 1 THEN [give ][/give]
ELSE [print ][/print]
END

So, if the variable One is not equal to 1 (if it got changed in some event somewhere) then the player gets rewarded for his consistency, otherwise the NPC you're talking to gets confused and nothing happens.

I feel like I'm not helping at all and my post isn't that clear but I hope it somewhat helped you???

Maybe I had a really weird experience with the nineties but isn't that how EVERYbody talked back then? I have distinct memories of that just being the words people used in real life+on tv* (*in America). I mean it is also pretty much how I talk (because I am mentally and emotionally trapped in the 90s and yearn for things to be the same as back then).

stamper looks like a sweetie!
He reels you in with them adorable eyes, then clasps onto your arm/leg and vibrates vigorously, over, and over again.
He's the biggest horndog in the world.

i remember i always used to think you were a dude rp'ing a girl

why
because you're an outrageous hyperbole of the gamers concept of a 'female'

????!??????!?????

Hello, Jamie! Do you still do cool Youtube skits/Speedy the Rat? I sure hope so!

(And if you don't, I guess you sort of do by ringleading the SaltW podcast that looks like it's starting soon?)

Darksiders. Not my kind of game but a friend bought it for me about 1-2 years ago and I feel guilty about not playing it.

Also I just hit the hardest boss in the game (according to the internet) and having a lot of trouble. Tiamat. Who's the first major boss fight.
That is the final boss of the demo (I think? Giant bat?) and I literally spent half of an hour repeating the same 5 minutes of gameplay WITHOUT DYING. A SINGLE TIME.
I guess I kept missing "the kill" or something but that is a really, really dumb thing to put in a video game. Eventually I should have gotten some kind of hint "hey, you have to press L2+Square+start twice when the bat lands to kill it".

Official verdict: Darksiders is a dum game.

Yup, that's the moment I was taklin about. It was hilarious just because we were pep-talkin each other, and then we ran to the top of a hill, and right as you reached the top you stopped, and you screamed AAHHHHHHH and ran away. It was just so perfectly timed. I laughed for like 5 minutes.

And yeah I played a few months ago to see if it had gotten any better. The animations are just terrible and while it has some good ideas, it wasn't executed too well.

I played Guild Wars 2 for a little while as well, and I think it's a really well-done MMO game. I find it excruciating to play them alone though, it's not fun to me at ALL.
I was going to play Guild Wars 2 and got really psyched for it but then I played a demo at PAX East and realized it was just World of Warcraft and I couldn't deal with it not being Guild Wars 1++.

Hi RJ. I'm sorry about the time when I called you racist for saying something about american indians when I already knew you're part, it wasn't funny. even though it was online it's one of those things I remember occasionally and think "that was really stupid"

Welcome!!
I... am really shocked that you remember it and it apparently bothers you! Don't worry, Earl, I walked away from the conversation with a similar feeling. We were both young kids trying to make it big in the Gaming World back then... a lot of things were said... a lot of it was not funny.

Thanks!

I remember rajew. We had some good times. Remember when we were playing Warhammer Online? We RPed the shit out of that. It's also my favorite RP experience I've ever had. Glad you're back, stick around!
Remember when we were in the pvp area, trying to find grain or something, and we turn around a corner and there was just a WALL of ELVES and DWARFS and HUMANS?

Good times.

(I also tried playing WAR again recently. It wasn't the same. PvP was people standing on the beach throwing spells at eachother and nobody ever dying)
