So this is my webcomic guys!

The Chronicles of Paliax is about a Golem called Paliax (he's that chill looking dude shooting laser magic out of his gloves like some sweet motherfuckin' gunslinger).

He's searching for his backstory, his chapter zero. Technically he's an amnesiac, but it's been a few years on since he woke up so I'm not really focusing on the amnesia as in the story.

He's been asked to find a lost amulet by a local barman. Little does he realise that this errand will lead him on the defining journey of his existence.

There are very minor RPG/DnD references, mostly in little jokes but otherwise it's a reasonably serious/wacky story. But anyway, please take a look, I'd love to get some new readers who enjoy it. So if you enjoy it, share it around. Tweet it, Facebook it, whatever. Just tell some people if you like it. Thanks guys. Also, post in this thread and tell me what you think!

Not sure how long I'm back for, but I keep seeing word of the possible continued reconstruction effort and there's still a bunch of cool people I remember who are around so I might stay for good.

I was on the forum a bit between 05-10, sorta disappeared after SaltW happened, Barkley 2 reminded me of this place so I'm back now.

Been doing a lot of art crap recently, doing a webcomic, stuff like that so I'll probably stick around a post some stuff in Artistry. Anyway, it's good to be semi-back on the forum, though I'm not sure how many of you will remember me.

Cheers champs.

This is effectively a post that plugs my website:

www.doctorears.com

But also just to tell you guys that I'm working on a short story about this chap named Wilhem the Wanderer, and that I'm going to be posting chapters weekly over at my website. Chapter Two just went up today, so I urge you to check it out. The website will eventually be home to a lot more stuff, not just writing but also artwork, short films and possibly comics.

And so that this post isn't just a website plug, I'll post the first few paragraphs of Chapter One. You can also see a drawing of him over on deviantart: http://doctorears.deviantart.com/#/d3dbm94

The man wandered, as he was inclined to do. He wiped the  sweat from his brow as he did so, and then pushed his hand through his  hair. His hand dropped back to his sword, and he patted it slowly. He  whispered softly to it, caressing the notches along the scabbard. He  walked on. The sand commingled around his footsteps, leaving small  imprints for a moment before being brushed aside by the wind. The sun  was not terribly hot and the man likened it more to the warmth between  the thighs of a woman than that of a burning orb of gas. The man sighed  immensely as he felt the sweet drip down his forehead. His own body  disagreed with him. He patted and rubbed the sword’s scabbard again.

“It’s alright, Wicker. We’ll be in town soon” he whispered  to the sword. Then he slipped the sword back over his shoulder, allowing  it to bask in the sun on his back. Then he reached to his side and  removed a spyglass from an inside pocket of his cloak. He held the  spyglass to his eye, surveying the path. Through the lens he saw blurred  shapes, dark. They were closer than he thought, and he smiled. He put  the spyglass away and brought his sword back off of his shoulder, and started off again.

The man did not especially stand out, though this could have  been because he was in a flowing brown cloak amidst a plain of  yellow-brown sand. Beneath his cloak he wore a dirty green waistcoat and  long sleeved shirt of a lighter brown colour. His frayed pants were  nothing more than a dark cotton weave and his boots were an inauspicious  black, ripped and torn. His wide-brimmed hat hid most of his face, but  few straggles of mousy hair did manage to poke out from under the hood.  His beard was unkempt, but not overly long.

His rucksack, for lack of a better word, was huge. It was  stuffed to every frayed edge of fabric with all manner of food, objects  and supplies. A bedroll hung off one side, while all manner of trophies hung off the other. A creature’s skull here, a few hand-sized teeth there. He considered himself a trader. Other people knew him by different names, and some weren’t so kind. Sometimes he thought his only friend was his sword, Wicker. Most times he was right.

Hope you guys enjoy it, and I hope you head on over to my site every week to keep track of Wilhem and anything else I create and post.

Cheers,

Trying to build a website in Dreamweaver at the moment, but I can't seem to get the float command in my CSS sheet to work properly. I have a table on the left side of the screen in one div tag, and another table in a second div tag. I can't seem to get the second div tag to float on the right of the first.

Anyway know how I can fix this?

Also why don't we have hide tags anymore?

So I was waiting for my video file to render while I was at my course the other day so I pulled out my tablet and sketched up a guy I'd like to call 'Sad swordsman.' It might be because his sword is overly large or maybe someone made fun of his tiny, tiny legs but he is definitely sad. Here is the first sketch of him.

I decided that I'd model him in 3d and do a hand drawn textures deal somewhat similar to what Gearbox did with the Borderlands textures, and then maybe animate a run cycle or pose him in a cool way. Anyway this topic can just chronicle Sad swordsman's journey from concept image while waiting for a render into final 3d form.

Also hopefully it'll attract some people who like to model in 3d or animate and such like that. I know we have a few members that do this kind of thing, be nice to see more of it.

So basically my laptop is pretty terrible. It WORKS, but the screen just doesn't work.

Not sure if it's a lose wire or anything like that. If it is a lose wire it's probably an easy fix.

I am considering selling for $200 NZD or something like that, just putting it on an auction site and seeing if anyone buys it.

Hey guys, I downloaded the latest Troubs album last night, but I was wondering where I can get the rest of them? All of the links on the majority of the old Album posts are dead links.

So if any of you have the rest of the albums, could you please upload them and post links?

Cheers,

The Doc.

Hey, another crappy topic about my assignment.

I just need a protestant prayer/grace cause I have to speak before we eat our dinner, do any of you know of any or have any of you seen some about? I am having a search over the internet but I am doing other assignments as well, so I might as well ask you guys if you've seen any.

Cheers,

The Doc.

EDIT: Fuck, quick search on wiki gives me a simple grace used by Protestants. Nevermind guys. I sure have a bad run for shitty topics these days.

Someone lock this please.

Ok, I am in need of some help for a History assignment on Tuesday, where I have to roleplay as John Whitgift. He was an important member of Elizabethan England, and I only know a few details about him.

Was just wondering if any of you dudes knew much about John Whitgift, in terms of things he did, positions he was in, etc. Just important facts and details about him, so that I can roleplay as this guy and at least pass the assignment.

If you could help me with this, that'd be great.

Cheers,

The Doc.

Hey guys, I have been getting some APPCRASH problems lately. Whenever I try to log onto Messenger, the messenger crashes and brings up an APPCRASH message. I've had the APPCRASH message on several other things, notably some of my games but it doesn't happen all that often.

I was just wondering how the fuck I fix this. I've searched all over the internet but can't seem to find anything relating to what's happening to me. Have you guys had problems like these, and how did you fix them?

I'm running Vista 32bit and it's the latest version of Windows Live Messenger (I tried using the older version, but for some reason it can't find my contacts list).

It'd be great if you guys could help a bit.

Cheers,

Dr. Ears

Okay so basically I just had a new rig built. I'm having a problem where I start playing a game (the two games I've played so far are STALKER and Fallout 3) and I play for about 15 minutes, and then suddenly my monitor goes into power save mode and I can't get back to the desktop or anything. I have to resort to restarting the machine with the button on the tower.

Anyway, I want to know what the fuck is causing this and how I can fix it without having to call up a technician and pay him $100 an hour to fix it.

Specs are as follows:

nvidia 9800GTX+
4GB of RAM
Three 320gb HDDs
Asus P5N-D Motherboard
Intel Quad Core 2.33GHz
800W power supply.

I'm not sure what else could be helpful to you guys in terms of information. There's a total of seven fans inside the computer, so it's definately not overheating.

If you guys could help me with this problem, that'd be great.

Cheers,

The Doc.

So guys. I'm looking to buy some more comic books/graphic novels.

I'm not looking particularly for stuff like Superman, Batman, Spiderman etc or anything. Something different from superhero crap (apart from Watchmen, that's awesome). The first 5 volumes of DMZ are on the way to my house, probably crossing over from America right now. Are there any others that people have read/heard about that they can recommend.

I'm into stuff that's kind of post-apocalypticish, perhaps post-war or post-civil war kind of scenarios. Stuff that is kind of political but against the government. Above all I like good/well written storylines.

Anything like that, recommend away. I'll take a look at everything you guys say, and if it sounds good I'll probably get it.

Hey guys, I'm getting a laptop in the next week or so, but it's not so good on the graphics side. It's only a work laptop for school and for writing etc, but I want to put some games on it. Can you guys recommend any oldschool rpgs or any oldschool games that'll work? The laptop has an NVIDIA 6150 or something rugged like that.

I have the Fallout series, and that Eschalon: Book 1 (pretty cool game too), and I have Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 etc. Any other games you guys can recommend? Anything that'll run on that video card?
