Seeing as no make a topic about it, why not make a topic about Season 5. Well and theories for Season 6 as well.
As we know, one side is light, one side is dark. Duh.
But in the finale for season 5, it seems that Jacob and Black Shirt Man(Obviously the smoke monster) are at odds against another, and we find out it's just a game of theirs to play.
THEY COME, THEY FIGHT, THEY LEAVE.
Jacob goes outside to the world to find suitable individuals, to touch them in a place they are never been touched before. Jacob you sicko. :p But to actually tell them advice to get to where they are today. But things didn't change.

Jack and Locke are odds at another.
Oceanic 6 leaves, they come back to find destiny. Only to land in the 70s, to fuck things over with DHRAMA. Sayid shoots young Ben, as it's already happened already. LOL LOOP.
Locke is alive, but finds out he's taking over the others and leading to kill Jacob. But it seems it looks Locke isn't Locke at all. He could the one and only smokey who changes into dead people. That's all I got out of it.
LOST ENDS WITH JULES, THAT HOT SMOKING BLONDIE, blowing up the bomb(or not) and screen turns to white, and lost title turns to black. Changing the alignment of the good and evil.

Tune in next year for Season 6, as they reveal all the mysteries, and closing the chapter of Lost.

Yeah well, you suck. Even your a moderator. Just kidding, I love you too man. This is a topic for lost fans, who actually know what is going on this confusing show of twilight zone experiences.
But not so tl;dr.
The monster is evil, as Eko said in season 3 "your next". Obviously, taking over Locke's body to lead the others to Jacob's hideout to let Benjamin Linus kill him, which appears to be the four toed statue. As to why in the beginning of "The Incident" episode it appears Smokey guy wants too see Jacob get into a loophole.
If you seen inside the temple where Ben and "Smokey" Locke go too, you'll see Egyptian hieroglyphics.
The statue is actually Taweret, in greek mythology.

considering the statue is holding an Ankh, which is the Egyptian hieroglyphic for eternal life, I assumed it was of Egyptian origin

it's probably sobek, taueret is a fatty. short and squat and fat. I say probably because there are so fucking many egyptian gods with a long head like that. it does appear to have ears tho so I don't know, they could have made it up

lost is pretty funny because of all the stupid religious and philosophy name/concept dropping, but I think it would be unbearable to watch weekly. I usually wait till the season is done to start watching them.

the funniest thing about lost is its fanbase, man if there's anything you might have missed or forgotten about in that show you can just hop on the LOSTPEDIA to set yaself straight

yeah the fanbase is pretty bad. like it's pretty obvious the plot was written as it was going along (kind of like star wars) but a lot of them insist it was all the plan from the beginning...
but still it's a pretty good mystery show and despite a lot of the stupid cliffhangers/stuff like THE EYE i like it.

The statue is confirmed to be "Tawaret" by the producers. Although most people agree that it looks more like Sobek, the head (especially the ears and hat) are more close to Tawaret than Sobek.
They probably thought the rest of the body looked better alá Sobek than a hippo with saggy tits.
