I'm expecting to be the only GW member to give a rat's ass about F1 2009 by Codemasters.GUESS AGAIN finally a multi-platform F1 game.
GUESS AGAIN finally a multi-platform F1 game.If you own a PSP or Wii, yeah. Pisses me off that I have to wait until next year to play F1 2010 on my PS3.
I am actually looking forward to knowing what Kojima's big whatever is all about. I mean it's shameless hype of course but when Big Boss is involved I will always be slightly excited.
new tony hawk game was just announced with a SKATEBOARD CONTROLLER. i really have no idea how that would work at allsomething a hell of a lot like the balance board?
Mass Effect 2, and Modern Warfare 2 specifically. These are the ones I'm looking out for the most. Bioshock and Lost Planet are looking okay, and maybe Assassins Creed 2, depending on what they show of the gameplay.
something a hell of a lot like the balance board?except on the balance board you don't have to do tricks.
People care about Crysis? I thought that game was only used for benchmarks, like Quake 4.
except on the balance board you don't have to do tricks.
Yeah, PS3 seems to have a pretty good lineup, especially Uncharted 2. I'm also excited for Crysis 2, new Mario (if it's you know REAL Mario and not some stupid spinoff) and hoping that Nintendo will finally reveal new Zelda. I suppose not too many here are that interested in FF13 but I look forward to seeing more stuff about it.
And quietly waiting for Skies of Arcadia 2 announcement...
a skateboard where you do tricks in real life to get points has already been inventedyou're missing the point. either you actually have to do skateboard tricks on the controller (which would be a terrible decision because skateboarding is hard as fuck) or they make it not like skateboarding at all which makes the controller pointless
m...metal gear rising...on the 360.
L4D 2? Whaaaaa~
you're missing the point. either you actually have to do skateboard tricks on the controller (which would be a terrible decision because skateboarding is hard as fuck) or they make it not like skateboarding at all which makes the controller pointless
edit: pretty huge xbox announcement- motion tracking without a controller. it looks like its a lot better than shitty eyetoy stuff too, more like the wii without a controller
the wii dominates in this market.not anymore! this new stuff for the 360 is pretty much blowing anything the wii could ever do completely out of the water
wow i did not see new metal gear on 360. is it a multi-platform or exclusive?Dunno
...and hoping that Nintendo will finally reveal new Zelda.
Haha look at L4D 2.Looks exactly the same as the first tbh. A dissapointment for me.

i want a new half lifeyeah apparently if you're still playing mass effect
also how could i forget mass effect 2, i'm completely addicted to the first one right now!!
modern warfare 2 will probably be great but i haven't beaten the first one yet, i'm slow with some games. :(

Wow L4D 2 is releasing November 14th? This year or next year? In any case, its still gunna be really awesome and I like that I saw the characters actually using melee weapons. Also, Metal Gear Solid on the 360 sounds interesting but you play as Raiden after MGS4 which would make it feel kind of iffyNo one said it takes place after MGS4.Hidden content (Click to reveal)and weird without snake(i mean snake was supposed to DIE soon after MGS4).
you're missing the point. either you actually have to do skateboard tricks on the controller (which would be a terrible decision because skateboarding is hard as fuck) or they make it not like skateboarding at all which makes the controller pointless
Yeah I was joking, obviously it all looks like DLC stuff. They will probably fix those lackluster E3 videos though, the game won't be out for a few more months. It certainly isn't worth $50.wish i would've known that sooner because when I beat the first one I was like okay need to make room for other things on my laptop and unistalled it so yeah its pretty cool I guess but not everybody hangs on to every saved game that they've ever made over the last 2 years on their computer I suppose
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/988/988416p1.html
That's a list of all the changes so far.
The best thing about Mass Effect 2 is that you can transfer your save from the first one over to the second one and the story changes depending on what you did in the first. It's a shame most other developers don't do these kind of things.
http://kotaku.com/5273950/new-and-old-monkey-island-adventures-in-the-worksI'll probably pirate this
A new 5 episode Monkey Island game made by Telltale and a remake of The Secret of Monkey Island. I don't like the new graphical style but having a voice cast should be great.
No one said it takes place after MGS4.I'm aware, I am just assuming that it could take place any time around the events of Metal Gear Solid 4 since Raiden looks the same as he did in that game. I am not saying that its true, more like possible.

The Wii's so fucked now:Somehow that just looks so fake, my bet is that it's very early in the development and won't work that well. Wiimote is really overrated and while that looks better, I just kinda doubt Microsoft can release accurate and good motion sensor technology for a cheap enough price.
............or maybe not.
there is no way in hell they're going to get me to jump around like a fucking idiot to play a goddamn game.
Yeah it's been said but I'm not particularly optimistic about this. I mean, the Wii Mote was practically hailed as just this side of VR on the immersion scale when the "revolution" first debuted, and then we get our hands on it and every game basically just uses three different gestures (WAGGLE THE CONTROLLER TO BREAK FREE OOOH I AM INSIDE THE GAME). And it also comes down to the problems that the Wii has - mainly a lack of developer support because the whole motion control thing makes it more complicated than the other two consoles. If Natal is truly as immersive as they are making it out to be, it could definitely be cool, but there's a middle ground that I have no interest in. Replacing a button tap with a waggle or a flick of the wrist is pretty boring.
How will they handle movement though? Like they showed a racing game and some karate thing and a skateboarding game, but if there was a first person shooter, how would you design a movement system? Would the player just WALK IN PLACE to move forward? That would get tedious and probably pretty inaccurate. I dunno! These are what drag down the whole idea for me.
The Wii's so fucked now:

Yeah isn't Blizzcon alone practically as popular as E3 now? I know tickets go for like $200 or something ridiculous considering it's just BLIZZARD GAMES and they only ever have like three to take about. Let me guess....... another WoW expansion, Starcraft 2 and... oooh, ooh, I know this one........
Pay Per View coverage of BlizzCon 2009 will be available for order August 9, 2009 through August 22, 2009 for $39.95
but they did announce a new golden sun which is pretty coolthis is the only thing that has managed to catch my interest. I WANT IT.
Galaxy 2 was only thing worthwhile out of that entire conference.
ahhhhh your precious cred
I think it's pretty cool, plus you can get some exercise. You don't think you look like a faggot strumming a plastic guitar?
also this is kind of stupid because whereas Galaxy 2 looks like a standard sequel, Metroid: Other M actually looks like something different and was an actual surprise so how is that not worthwhile?
Wii sucks, I'm glad I don't have one anymore.
I didn't see the Metroid trailer, but I do know Golden Sun DS is going to be incredible. For me, that is the best thing that came out of this.
Wii sucks, I'm glad I don't have one anymore.oh sweet. I'll def keep an eye out for this

roman why do you give a shit about zelda?
roman why do you still give a shit about zelda?
Final Fantasy 14.
It's online. Not getting it.
golden sun is so terriblegolden sun is probably one of the better rpgs in terms of gameplay. the battles are alright but it had a lot of decent puzzles and unlike 95% of other rpgs it GAVE YOU SHIT TO DO when going through dungeons beyond fighting battles. i think my favorite part of the game was the dungeons and i hate dungeons!
yo i actually have some extra cash atm and i saw radiata stories and ROUGE galaxy (heh) and a few other PS2 rpgs that i cant rememberon sale at gamestop for like $15 and under. are any of these games worth it? what about persona 3 fes/persona 4? im in the mood for some GAME PLAYIN and i actually have like $40 in extra cash atm
what are some good PS2 rpgs
youre in luck, i think thats the one with the dickgirls. The first one they start out in a computer program or something and at the end they go to the real world where 2 takes place. Also its worth noting that you can carry some stuff over if you play DDS1 first(stat bonuses and items depending on how powerful you become and a not-so-secret character you can get depending on dialog choices you make in the first and second game). Also I don't remember any dickgirls in 1, but i haven't finished 2 yet, so i guess they could be in there somewhere.
also i think the first one ends with like THEM GOING INTO ANOTHER WORLD so 2 might be playable as a standalone game.
don't get radiata stories, it's gets real old real quick and it's as generic as they come, save your money for something elseWut?
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-final-fantasy/50266It was really cool because they didn't show the same scenes over and over like they did before. And of course, the game shifts from the Midgar type city to an open world (probably 5-6 hours into the game).
i wonder if ff13 is going to have a world map or if it's gonna be linear like ff10 or more open-ended like ff12 was. in any case this trailer was p.cool....... but im a fanboy LOL.
I'm guessing it will be like ff10 because walking on world maps has been dead since ps2 and this game is definitely not going to be like ff12.I'm afraid of this too but I hope it's going to have a world map of some sort. I just hate it when games are overly linear. Seriously, developers need to bring back world maps or add more exploration. DQ8 pulls off world map so well, many next gen RPG's would do well to have a similar world map.
edit: no it won't be on 360. At least it won't be at the same time that one comes out, because it's being released right after FF13. It's an mmorpg though so who cares.
it was completely generic in terms of story and setting and all that jazz. it's just, it plays better than your average rpg because the developers actually put a decent amount of effort into dungeon design and instead of WANDERING THROUGH CATACOMBS waiting for a random battle, your characters can all do shit in the overworld and actually getting gameplay outside of the battle system is kind of rare in a game like that. i liked LUFIA games for the same reason despite the fact that lufia is dumb as hell
Assassin's Creed 2 looks cool, hopefully it has fixed the issues the first game has.
They said 2010 release for XI-2. As soon as I saw the "Online" below I just laughed. It wont be PS3 exclusive as they wouldn't make nearly as much money without a PC version.the website (http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/) list windows and ps3(maybe they will do the world wide console release they originally wanted for XI with the pc version coming a little later?) as its platforms, though i suspect it may end up on the 360 sometime later down the line
This may forever be known as the e3 of "2's". I won't even begin to list them as there are a fucking lot.
Mario Galaxy 2 :\
Woulda preferred a 3D Super Mario World or 3D Super Mario Bros. 3 type game.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-final-fantasy/50266MY GOD SQUARE, seriously, stop it with the Yuffie/Selphie/Eiko/Rikku/Tarutaru(???)/Penello/ANNOYING GIRL WITH RED HAIR. Jesus fucking christ. Other than that, this looks like Final Fantasy 7+10+The Matrix:Reloaded+steroids+crystal meth.
i wonder if ff13 is going to have a world map or if it's gonna be linear like ff10 or more open-ended like ff12 was. in any case this trailer was p.cool....... but im a fanboy LOL.
Although Crackdown wasn't the best game.. Hell even a great game I'm still looking forward to it and it seems their are now monsters/demons or something in this one. I'm curious to see what another developer can do with the concept.
I just hope Mass Effect 2 fixes those boring ass mako levels, man that shit was pointless. Also Crysis 2 was announced.. I wonder what the specs of that game will be :shocking:
So far everything I've seen with a 2 stuck on it has just looked like a cheap expansion/mission pack to the original game. L4D2, MW2 etc. None of them look like new games or even remotely interesting enough to warrant charging again for. Especially that L4D2 one, which looked like a frankly shit fan mod.
Golden Sun DS whoooooop though. Loved the first 2,but I thought the story ended with the end of the second game. I don't remember any loose threnevermind I just remembered the ending as I typed this.
Honestly this E3 is not impressing me so far. There has been nothing really interesting or any real comedic fuckups (sony conferences tend to be hilarious in this regard)
the vehicles weren't that hard to use
maybe they should have the main game take longer than 7 hours to beat
Then again, most recent games have suffered from shortness, and the ones that don't bore you to death before you finish them.
I really gave Mass Effect a shot but after like 3 or 4 hours in I just couldn't bring myself to care anymore. blahblahblah scifi space-diplomacy robots spaceships etc.i guess you just aren't smart enough to "get" space politics
booooooooorrrriiiingg
edit: also nintendo confirmed new zelda for wii. :) it has adult link, nothing else was really told.wait why wasn't this in the press conference at all? that seems like a pretty big announcement to leave out
yeah they "confirmed" zelda last year too. this time miyamoto said he would "like to announce it next year"According to what Kotaku said:
http://kotaku.com/5276789/from-stick-figure-to-mind+blowing-controls
Natal apparently works extremely well so far
edit: no it won't be on 360. At least it won't be at the same time that one comes out, because it's being released right after FF13. It's an mmorpg though so who cares.
You know what rules?
English Demon's Souls is finally confirmed.
Did anyone see the Red Steel 2 preview on IGN? It looks pretty cool: http://wii.ign.com/articles/988/988473p1.htmlThere's no fucking way I'm going to let Red Steel get my hopes up again.
Wait, what about the whole new wii add on that make motion control better? Wasn't that shown at E3 or are you people just that cynical :P
It's fucking terrible, trust me. I've used it and it's not noticeable at all what difference it makes to the wiimote in terms of functionality. Ergonomically it's stupidly heavy and completely unbalances the weight distribution of the wiimote (it plugs into the bottom of it and there is nothing on the top to counterbalance the new weight) so it's actually really tiring to use for any period of time. It's just an uncomfortable piece of shit.
edit: Hmm.. something tells me I probably am not allowed to even talk about it but whoooops nintendo didn't make me sign an NDA oh well
what game did you play?
That's great but it still won't be out the same time the ps3 or PC version comes out.
Also the motion control things are dumb because it doesn't matter how precise they are, no developer for either of those consoles will make games for them. With the Wii, you have no other choice but to use what they give you. So while it's cool that these things are "enhancing" what the Wii has done, they won't be able to get off the ground. Maybe they'll get some really bad arcade games using it but that's about it.
so is it just me, or did they just turn metroid into every other science fiction action game on the face of the earth? samus aran doesn't have fucking friends. she doesn't have supervisors or rivals. i don't want cool poses, one-liners or intergalactic council meetings in my metroid, and i definitely don't want it to be some epic, sweeping space opera. that is superfluous bullshit that should serve as a backdrop, if it's even included at all. yeah, prime 3 did this but retro handled it well, not CLOSEUP OF INSIDE OF GUN seriously guys
just drop me on a well-designed planet with no radio contact and let me collect shit until you decide the game is over. that's all you need to do, nintendo.
p.s. lookin forward to those spectacular breast physics as always, team ninja.
i didn't say that looked castlevania-ish either geez
i just said this doesn't look very much what we're accustomed to, even the retro castlevanias
idk i almost get more of a God of War vibe from it than castlevania
oh except it has crosses
ps: incase you didn't notice this is just a very early opinion i've no fucking clue otherwise
What the fuck. Project M? Team Ninja? I have never even heard of these before.
Now that I can't talk about. ;)
ahh you're full of shithe works at sega
I guess a better question would be how did you get your hands on the WiiMP? Did you go to E3 or something?
sarevok's got crazy connections
i remember he was talking about left 4 dead before it came out a while ago too so maybe this is sort of the same idea
I get some of this, but come on. If they took out the cool poses and all the extreme angles, then why bother calling them "Team Ninja" in the first place?
I don't really see how. Heavy Rain and Alan Wake just look like bad movie trailers. I might get Alan Wake when it is cheap though but that's only because I like exploring kind of desolate environments and I think that will be what it is like.ohhhh shut up. this is annoying. i don't even feel like i should have to explain how compared to something like DEATHCORE 2 or whatever other garbage is coming out this year that people are flipping out about, heavy rain is kind of a breath of fresh air. any game that puts such an emphasis on CINEMATICS is something i am going to be a bit more fond of than other games, but the fact that it is concerning something that hasn't really been done much in video games and appears to be plot-driven with passable dialogue are also factors. bottom line is it looks better and less dumb than 99% of other video games even with its apparent flaws and if you weren't bringing out some tired, quintessentially-you argument about how poorly they compare to a medium much more developed than video games, i probably would not need to be typing this post.

but quintessentially me? Go eat a pipe, it's nothing all of you guys haven't said so many times before and that's why I see your point. You must be right because I'm irritated at something and it's definitely myself but thanks for setting out to make me feel like an idiot.quintessentially you because you are the only one who would take a shit on a game even when it is clearly trying to be BETTER than just a silly game. i am willing to give credit for ambition and effort, even when it does not necessarily come out that brilliantly. we all say similar things but i don't think any of us look at what is, objectively, a game that is quite a bit less stupid than most others and be like "feh feh...it aint a movie". who would expect it to be a movie? this is not a reasonable demand of games at their current stage of development. ALL GAMES will be terrible if you compare them to a century-old medium that has had multiple lifetimes to develop and bloom without any of the issues that face games (perception as childish distractions), and at that point why even bother playing them or talking about them? i was not trying to make you feel like any idiot, though.
i had heard that indigo prophecy was amazing for the first half, then it takes a complete 180 and starts sucking incredibly badthats not true it was terribe the whole way through
What the fuck. Project M? Team Ninja? I have never even heard of these before. What happened to Retro Studies? Admittedly I think retro totally lost the plot with hunters/prime 3 but at least they know the metroid brand well. This game looks... I don't know. I want to say I hate it but it actually looked kinda cool, except for the shitty generic human space opera yeah.
also token black guy, every sci-fi gotta have the black guy with the cheesy accent (also lol@that grin he makes when opening the helmet)
Now that I can't talk about. ;)
Would they have to develop around the Natal system though? That article said that the guy used the Natal with Burnout Paradise, which was already out. So unless the guys who made Burnout Paradise remade the game to work with the Natal. It seems like you can use it with almost any 360 games.
hey what ever happened to that uwe boll game that was supposed to come out?
I can't remember the name for the life of me.
Well it's not much of a conceptual leap that Natal delivers roughly the same information to the game itself, it's just a matter of how it gets inputted to the device. I'm sure the technical aspects of this are more complicated, but I doubt much rework of the game itself would be required tbh.
possibly talking out of my ass though!1 yeuj
i had heard that indigo prophecy was amazing for the first half, then it takes a complete 180 and starts sucking incredibly badYeah, the first half was really neat. You play as both a "killer" and the cops trying to find the killer, so you can have the cops miss certain evidence. It was really neat. Also you can completely ruin the character's lives.
i just read ign's article about ff14 and apparently it's coming out next year as well, like ff13 (in america anyway). they actually got nobuo uematsu to do the soundtrack for it. would have been much better if uematsu composed soundtrack for one of the single player final fantasies since recent ff music has blown in comparison to uematsu's work.Yeah, I didn't get that. FF10 and FF11 had these great, sweeping orchestrated soundtracks, then FF12 went back to fucking midi shit.
I couldn't tell you how it all works, though MS didn't really make a point of saying it will work with current 360 games, just that it would work with all current 360 hardware. But I suppose that doesn't really say anything either.Holy crap, Scribblenauts is going to be worth getting just to battle mythic gods!
@ Pulits
It could end up as something different, you never know. Miyamoto made a point of showing IGN that Link had no sword in the artwork and hushed up about it a bit later. Then again, you could always argue that Link probably hasn't acquired it yet.
And also, I don't think that's NP's score for the Conduit.
HA! Scribblenauts is nuts!

Yeah, I didn't get that. FF10 and FF11 had these great, sweeping orchestrated soundtracks, then FF12 went back to fucking midi shit.Eh, FF10's soundtrack wasn't that great either, about on-par with FF12. There were a few really good tracks but rest is pretty forgettable. Uematsu wasn't even main composer for FF10. FF11 had a really cool soundtrack though.

FF11 had a really cool soundtrack though.I was referring to the instruments used to make the songs. FF10 was actually scored with a real orchestra. Most of the songs in FF12 were made on a computer.
FF12's soundtrack was composed by the same guy who did Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack. His style is very distinctive and yeah, unfortunately FF12's score wasn't really memorable, although it was still pretty good.
Anyway, at least all the FF13 tracks I have heard so far sound pretty promising so I hope the soundtrack will be pretty good. But it won't be Uematsu good, I'm certain.
HA! Scribblenauts is nuts!holy shit i have so much more faith in this game now that i know they're even putting stuff like Cthulu and Vampire Hunter in the vocabulary

It follows TP style. Yeah, they should probably call it TP2 just like they did with Mario lollol.
Fags. ¬_¬
what are you whining about
you got a new zelda, and it isn't cel-shaded (i mean i wouldn't mind but every motherfucking person other than me would)
did it absolutely need a new style?
i mean if the game isn't re-hashed tp(which was re-hashed past zeldas) then who the fuck gives a shit?
I really hope it isn't a re-hashed TP. That's all. :(
I'm still angry at SMG2... that's about it!
holy shit i have so much more faith in this game now that i know they're even putting stuff like Cthulu and Vampire Hunter in the vocabulary
I had played all the big titles at E3. Private showings of God of War III, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake. But at 4:00 on Thursday, I was wandering around the show floor, wondering what else I had to see. I saw a small little booth for "Scribblenauts!" in the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment section. I mean, who goes to that booth? But I remember hearing about it on GAF, and so I decided to check it out.
Best game of E3? Without a fucking doubt. Anyone who says otherwise did not play Scribblenauts. Best game of all time? Jesus Christ, I don't know, maybe. It's a game that challenges your IMAGINATION. No other game has ever done that.
So listen to this story. I was in the early levels; I didn't quite have an idea of how ridiculously in-depth the database was. I was summoning things like ladders, glasses of water, rayguns, what have you. But I reached a level with zombie robots, and the zombie robots kept killing me. Rayguns didn't work, a torch didn't work, a pickaxe didn't work. In my frustration, I wrote in "Time Machine". And one popped up. What the fuck? A smile dawned on my face. I hopped in, and the option was given to me to either travel to the past or the future. I chose past. When I hopped out, there were fucking dinosaurs walking around. I clicked one, and realized I could RIDE THEM. So I hopped on a fucking DINOSAUR, traveled back to the present, and stomped the shit out of robot zombies. Did you just read that sentence? Did you really? I FUCKING TRAVELED THROUGH TIME AND JUMPED ON A DINOSAUR AND USED IT TO KILL MOTHERFUCKING ROBOT ZOMBIES. This game is unbelievable. Impossible. There's nothing you can't do.
Holy fucking shit.
You think that's something? Just came across this post over at Neogaf from someone who played the game...ggg.g..g.g I WANT THIS GAME!!!
Oh... there's more

The entire read is awesome, but do yourself a favor and read bulletpoint #2 with the shark battle. The final paragraph is all kinds of incredible.
My biggest problem with scribblenauts is that they've apparently added a bunch of internet memes (specifically ones that NO ONE EVEN CARES ABOUT), which grosses me out to the point where I kind of don't want to give them any money.

Wow, is it that serious? :fogetshrug:
