Well, I noticed that the Guess the Game topic died so I'm making a new one.  :welp:

I'm not great at making topics, so I'll begin by quoting the stuff DS said for the last one:

And that's all there is to this, pretty simple.

I'm not going to count points or anything and there will be no winner. I'm going to delete any posts which ignore the rules and  if someone posts a screenshot without getting last one right, they will have to meet furious dragonslayer for not reading the first post in the topic.

EDIT: By the way, the point isn't to post a screenshot NO ONE CAN GET RIGHT. That's why I want you to stick with games which have been released outside Japan or rest of Asia as well, unless they are popular enough so someone can actually know the game.

Just follow the rules he set up for it. I think they seem like they work well.

It'd be cool if this was stickied like it was a long time ago so this doesn't die again but whatever, The last one went for 160 pages or so...

EDIT: Also may I suggest we change it from 12 to 24? VG forum (all of GW in general actually) is pretty much dead these days and 12 hours is going to see like 2 posts, so I dunno.

Okay since nobody seems to be getting this, the game is Aero Fighters 3. The screenshot is from the robot guy's ending where his body finally gets "restored", but not everything goes according to plan I guess. Someone else post a screenshot now

I personally didn't like this game. The only reason I even remember it is because my brother accidentally plagiarized the death theme and it wasn't until months later that he realized what the source of his 'inspiration' was (which was found randomly doing a search on video game deaths, don't ask).

i've always really wanted to like this game a lot, but it is completely unplayable. it has one of the worst combat systems i've seen in a game, gives you no idea of what you're supposed to do, is really tedious to navigate, and doesn't even have a very good premise! it's really unfortunate because it has great graphics. look at how crazy those character portraits are. those are pretty neat. i wish more games had portraits that weren't just frontal face shots.

I've actually played it too. Pretty cool game, but never made it further than that green wall you had to climb while being guided by a voice. I've read about that place years later and realized I was simply too young to understand the clues.

I love DDay. I love him. Yeah, I didn't have the manual either but I'm sure that would have helped.  I gave up on the game because everything was so specific and tedious.

Does anyone remember that game that looked like this but (I don't think) wasn't built on the Doom engine? It was, like, an RPG. I think you started as an elf. Also, I think it touted interior spaces that were bigger than the exterior spaces.

edit: the weapons looked completely different but the backgrounds were the same resolution/texture style. I remember there were a lot of bushes. It wasn't anything obvious like Daggerfall. I can't remember too much about it!

I didn't think Clock Tower was that boring, but I got stuck really early in so I didn't get very far.  I'm kind of pissed to find out that you really can escape in the car that early in the game though, even though that's considered the worst ending I would have considered it a win regardless.

See I would see it as a win because I completed the game, even if it's in the worst possible way.  But at that point I was getting frustrated in how slow Jennifer was moving and I was ready to throw in the towel until I was playing it on an emulator that could speed it up.

Yeah it's definitely an interface from the people who did Shadowgate.  I only played the very beginning of Deja Vu though so I'm not sure, but it seems like the most reasonable guess.  Also, I'm pretty sure coat was an item at the beginning of the game so yeah I am p. sure whoever said that first was right.

I played Army Men 3D and a demo of the helicopter one. neither were utterly terrible. In fact they seemed decently enjoyable.

About the game from the screen - which is not Cacoma Knight in any way shape or form, it is old enough that it came on the large floppy disks, I think seven or eight of them. I remember one day from when I was younger where we were all in the computer room together. I was playing a Terminator game, my dad was playing the game from the screenshot, and my mom was playing Quest for Glory I. My dad kept getting his character killed and showing us, because the death screens were usually pretty funny in the game. *nostalgia*

i don't know about adventure game maker but you could always look at inform if you want to make a text adventure type of game (i think there's a plugin that lets you use graphics, i've only just played around with it a little though)

Since it has been a day and the topic seems to have become more about Adventure Game Studio then anything else... my screen is from a game called "Amazon: Guardians of Eden." Came out way back in 1992, and had puzzles you solved by breathing through a hollow reed, playing in an enchilada, and killing giant spiders. Failing netted things like getting locked up for 20 years with interesting cellmates, or getting your face chewed off by Piranha. It had an on board hint option that lowered your character's IQ score based on how many hints you used, and made fun of you about it.

Oh yes now it is coming back to me! I always remember those old VGA games looking way better than they actually did, for some reason. Me and my dad beat the first and second one without any walkthroughs but couldn't beat the 3rd one (that stupid f-ing ghost always befuddled me).

For me it was more like you walk into some place, hit a switch on the door and some horrible monster just walks out and murders the main member of your party, leaving the other three to stand around and then I stop playing.

But tbh it had some impressive graphics for the SNES (which you can't tell by that screenshot because nothing's moving)

I actually thought it might be Bart but the interface didn't seem very simpsons-ey.  Plus I didn't think just saying SOME SORT OF SIMPSONS GAME would count.

I used to play the arcade one all the time as a kid though, that rocked.

Yeah, it's Guitar Hero 5 on 360. You can use the little 360 avatars as players. As well as Kurt Cobain.

You can use Miis on Wii. That probably looks even worse than using the 360 avatars.

Can't be...If I remember correctly the frist Gaunlet had no power ups/stats and on the top of the screen shot it clearly has power ups... might be some spin-off.

monopolo he said it him self after my screenshot post or was my screenshot so obscure that it formed a void on the next poster ... and some of those games I posted where well know titles other then this one... witch is a bit of a independent which only has about 5 or 6 games under it belt. Also most of the Jap. games I post are good or I would not be posting them... Thank you vary much and if I tried posting English game chance are it's already been posted.
