A loan officer ordered to evict an old woman from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse, which turns her life into a living hell. Desperate, she turns to a seer to try and save her soul, while evil forces work to push her to a breaking point.

I saw this movie last weekend with a few friends. Judging from the previews, we expected a typical horror flick (grudge esque) with cheap scares and maybe some blood splatters here and there.
Oh god.
This film is INCREDIBLE. It's funny, it's gross, it's over the top, it's suspenseful, it's creepy, and it's got one of the craziest endings I've ever seen in a horror film.
Watch it! 9/10

I thought this was pretty good too!
It had all the things that make a bad movie, but they were done in a way that made it look good! Movies like the grudge and all these dime a dozen horrors that lionsgate keeps shoving out should take a note.
Also, I thought the ending was one of the most brutal endings I've ever seen.

The talking goat made me lmao, I just wasnt expecting it to go that far.

I kind of thought this would be a really good movie, I just wasn't in the mood for a movie like this at all when I saw the commercials. It's good to know if I ever feel like watching some horror thingy

This is a Sam Raimi move. I haven't seen it yet, but he's pretty widely regarded as the master of the Horror Comedy so it's not that surprising that it's getting such good responses.

IMO i think it's better than Evil Dead. After seeing this, it really feels like he got better and better with ED, ED2, AoD, and now perfected it with this movie.

Agreed, 100%.
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and call it for my movie of the year.

I really enjoyed it. Perfect mixture of horror and comdey, even though every single scare was either a loud noise or face in the camera.

Agreeance.
This movie was genius. It scared you in one scene and cracked you up the next, and few horror movies can perfect this (though many have tried). I need this in my DVD collection, now.

The CGI was embarassingly bad and I wonder if it was intentional. Raimi got away with some intense and narly stuff. The “workshed!” scene in particular. When the anvial knocks the gypsies eyes out into Lohman’s mouth… It was a nice, nasty little wink to Evil Dead 2 and suprisingly nasty. But the CG was so fake it was distracting.
