My God. An absolutely atrocious character. Not funny in the slightest (then again, most female stand up comedians aren't), nor attractive in the slightest (refer to previous statement in brackets). She was an annoying, overly quirky, unlikeable character that added nothing to the film other then the sub-plot where Rogen/Schwartzman were arguing about who should have got with her first.
Okay we get it, you're a slut and you slept with Schwartzman. And WOW, how funny was that joke regarding how Rogen owed her $50 from the $100 profit he received for scalping the concert tickets, dumb bitch. They end her sub-plot with Rogen winning her over; I hated it all.
How she was given a role in the film (let alone a film directed by Judd Apatow of all people, being the comic genius that he is) I will never comprehend. She was a horrible actress and deserves no further work in the industry.
Otherwise, a nearly insignificant flaw in a unique and satisfying comedy that stands well as Apatow's third directorial effort, not to mention one of Sandler's most complex/mature characters (which, even being somewhat of a fan of his, isn't saying much).
When you're facing a loaded gun... what's the difference?
-The Departed
louis ck. I think he can be funny but this really ruins his routine. if he didn't do this shit I bet he would be at least OK
I also hate comics who try too hard to be edgy or offensive (OH NO HE DI'INT)
Why do people always tell me I hate everything? I don't hate everything, I just hate horrible things and I don't care about things that aren't interesting.
yeah lady comedians are usually awful.
You know my roommates always say this and I don't really get it. It's like, we can watch a good female comedian and they won't say anything, then we'll watch a bad one and they'll say, "Ever notice how women aren't funny??? lol". Come on nah.
Ellen is terrible. I'm not tolerating that in this topic. She stinks.
this reminds me of the part in family guy
Female comedy writers are sometimes pretty awesome.seconded because tina fey is absolutely brilliant
I don't think I've seen a female comic open her bit with something other than "So my period started today" EVER.that is unfortunate and unlikely, i have never seen a female comic say that outside of commercials and cartoons where they are lampooning some type which i guess has to exist. airline food!
Female comedy writers are sometimes pretty awesome.
There aren't many funny male comedians, either.
i don't think maria bamford's that bad, she just always does the same jokes. which is why i do not often enjoy stand-up
hey yeah girls enjoy sex and have insecurities about it too! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You'd be surprised at just how many times men have to hear this before they can acknowledge it as true.
Well, not that it's really a number of times they have to be told, the truth is that they have to be told this constantly and the longer they've gone without being told this, the less likely they are to believe it when they are finally told again, even if it's for the 1000th time already.
every time ellen starts to dance I want to shoot her down
russell peters?somebody's gonna get a hurt real bad
And Chelsea Handler for that matter. Haven't seen her do stand up. But she is funny on her talk show.
Lisa Lampanelli is funny... But I can't think of anyone elaes.
I thought this was just me thinking about shit like that. Well atleast I know I'm not alone.
girls are funny, just not the ones they put on tv.
Grandma Lee from America's Got Talent? Since thats the only female that has ever made me laugh but I like stand up comedians who are pretty dry or just you know, tell their life's story. You are missing the point here. Obscene and offensive grandmas that have even a tiny glimpse of wit and straightforwardness make great stand up comedians. And sexual partners.
There is two guy comedians who are alive, and young who make me laugh and they're generally dry. Ones an indian who jokes about his family, his own race, and some other guy who just basically rants about things like a nervous wreck who never curses. Sucks that i don't know their names.
MY GOD CHEF, these are fantastic, are they trolling?
no because now they just think it only applies to female comedians
Well even if that's the case, I don't think the female comedians mind.Good point. Women should just stay in the kitchen where they belong :fogetnaughty:
I mean, why would a female even want to become a comedian if it's not to get other men to relate to her better?
However I can't think right now of any funny female comedians. Shoot me in the face.
So I ask you, Americans and others, am I grossly overgeneralising here or is there really a lack of subtle comedy in the American sense of humour?comedians are awful.
I've seen alot of American comics try and fail miserably at irony, for example, but irony is a harder thing to achieve than one might think so that is understandable. I never see American satirists though. I'm sure they must exist, but not in vast numbers. There are two exceptions I know of. The first is Jon Stweart, I watch the daily show occasionally and I usually enjoy it although it's a bit too wrapped up in American politics for a foreigner like me to fully appreciate it. The second is Larry David, again there are a few jokes where I think some things have been lost on the journey overseas but I think its a friggin hilarious show.neither of those shows are any good. this is not feh!! ignorant american doesn't get the humor!! -_- they are just a couple of shows that have their moments but are usually awful. I like how curb your enthusiasm perpetuates HBO's QUALITY IMAGE (stella artois) by advertising itself as an intelligent comedy. well it must be good!!! it's not, it's actually pretty dumb most of the time.
