I obviously can't vouch for the taste and I get fed pretty well (regardless of who makes dinner) but that doesn't look THAT bad.I agree that the photograph does not look bad due to the fact that i ate some of the puffy noodles that were laying on top of it like rising bread with a bunch of random ingredients tucked under there.
This is a really cool topic. Don't mess it up.Drule's right. Do NOT fuck this up. Only warning Psyburn.
IMO, just eliminate junk food from your plate and eat atleast 2-3 balanced meals a day. Also, from my experience, consume more plant foods than meat and dairy instead. They are much healthier for you and help keep you slim. I am a vegetarian (not vegan) for 2 years, and weigh 207-214 lb. at 5'9".i don't eat junk food i have no junk food in this house.
Also, I could eat that photographed soup dish, but cooked without the meat.
(http://pub.gamingw.net/24744/noodles.jpg)They're not even Chinese noodles, my house isn't even Asian food.
i'm thin because i have a shit metabolism. also, i eat like 8 times a day but i small meals. i can't eat big meals because i get full pretty quickly, but i'm always hungry!

psyburn quit fucking whining man. when i was little i got ramen noodles, GRITS, oatmeal, etc. maybe some baked chicken and corn or something for dinnerAnd a glass of Kool-Aid.
being thin is the fucking worst when you're shopping for clothes because they don't make 28 x 34 jeans

Drule's right. Do NOT fuck this up. Only warning Psyburn. It is a warning to everyone else.
learn how to cook for yourselfMy parents won't let me cook.
tell them you want to learn so you can run your very own oriental restaurant franchiseNo i mean, like I say I'm gonna cook for myself and then they still end up cooking and it's weird.

is there a way to mail food and keep it good?
do they have a "keep frozen" option at UPS?

I think we should all cook for psyburn and send it in the mail.
I wouldn't eat anything without a return address on it though.
I wish my parents had got me cooking for the family like 1 night a week when I was younger because cooking is a really good thing to be good at when you leave home. Not enough parents teach their children to cook any more.
well you usuaLLY LEAVE IT up to the woman to cook.
I dunno I feel that in more recent years its been guys that have been getting into cooking again. Like my brother who just got married is the cook of the house and I've been working on learning how to cook myself. I've seen this trend at college too, with guys being the ones who are able to make more of the fancier dishes and that sort of thing.
I cook a lot for my parents now. They used to go through a lame weekly routine of hamburger helper, hamburgers, spaghetti, tacos, BEEF BEEF BEEF BEEF BEEF.
i actually feel sorry for a lot of you guys, i feel like people from ethnic countries eat a lot better than people who grow up in north americathis is pretty cool. where do you live? or are you american and you/your parents decided to make this?
today i had a soup with chickpeas, bonesless chicken breast pieces, green beans, parsley and lots of spice. it was delicious. usually it's just russian dishes though
this is pretty cool. where do you live? or are you american and you/your parents decided to make this?

jesus christ this is EXACTLY what my parents eat, except tacos aren't nearly as common as OTHER THINGS WITH HAMBURGER MEAT (if you replace tacos with soup that's their exact diet)
but to be fair they both work incredibly long hours and get home pretty late so when they come home i can kind of see why hamburger helper is a lot more appealing than something that takes a lot more effort to make
i'm not that great of a cook but i do cook for them occasionally (or if not i at least START the cooking so that when my mom gets home she has less work to do), and when my brother comes home for the summer (which he didn't this year) he cooks for them all the time.
ahahahahahahahahaha
ethnic food, not like that american food
ahahahaha I could imagine your dad saying that

Uh DUH pussy just SAY "NO BITCH I'M NOT SHAVING SHIT", you're the one who's not fulfilling their role in society. You're too soft, that's YOUR fault.Everyone, observe the level of aggressiveness in this particular female specimen. This is the alpha female in her prime, an exquisite example of how they usurp our positions of power.

I'm wondering if you took that picture. you've posted about your eating habits before so it's believable. but what's really good about the picture is how the plate appears to be sitting on a crusty bathroom floor with a palmers super sale paper and a dunkin donuts bag
I'm thin because I eat nothing but junk food and never eat meals. Like, I ate 5 bags of popcorn yesterday and skipped dinner and that's all I ate. I'm going to have a heart attack or something but I can't stomach meals so I just snack constantly. I'm start to gain lots of muscle now, though. I gained about 10 pounds in the last year so hurrah!
I wouldn't be able to stand juris if I didn't picture him as the baby in his avatar.I am awesome and you know it.

Oh yeah. Look at that. Not dirty at all.

First flush tea from the Darjeeling district of India. If you ever get the chance to buy this, take it. It's one of the best teas in the world.

Hoak and empty recycled jars. I collect these, I don't know why.
Hoak and empty recycled jars. I collect these, I don't know why.as a showpiece like the rest of your kitchen
Nice kitchen dada. I'm actually very surprised they sell HP sauce in the netherlands, I thought it was just a british thingNot pictured is a bottle of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce sitting right next to it.
That tea looks super-bomb. I'm totally a sucker for elusive, terribly expensive, gourmet things like that. I've been personally debating picking up a legitimate bottle of balsamic vinegar, approved by the consortium. Shit's like $100 though.Oh yeah, you should definitely see if there's a tea shop somewhere close to where you live. The only thing I actually spend any notable amount of money on is tea. I'm lucky since there's a really good store here in Rotterdam that sells this stuff for a fair price. You can also find lots of good stuff online, though then it's usually a little more expensive. This guy (http://stores.ebay.com/yunnansourcingllc) sells good pu-erhs, among other things.
whoa that kitchen has a lot of stuff on display. do you or someone in the house do a lot of cooking? It just looks like that because I barely have any cupboards to store things in. Also I live alone and I rarely get takeaway food.
What a terrible kitchen, why the hell there is an oven right in the front of a drawer?Because it's a very tiny space and there's also a waching machine there. I had to choose: if I wanted to be able to open those two cupboards I would have to get a cooktop instead.
Dada, that is the film set I've been dreaming of for a long time man.If you come by Rotterdam some day you can film me as I grill a slice of swordfish.
ahahaha another bad example due to the pizza box but here's my kitchenit's cleaner now (Click to reveal)(http://pub.gamingw.net/48013/DSCN0085.jpg)
those dunkin donuts were my flatmates, she brings them back when she travels (there's one at the airport) and that palmers sale really wasn't that super (palmers is a plant place, i had actually just come home and put the mail on the counter (my keys are there too))

Awesome! Would you recommend anything specific? I was thinking of just ordering a sample of one of the first flush teas they have there. To see how it is and such. You need to keep in mind that if you live in the Western world you're probably used to very strong flavors (like Earl Grey, for example, or even the bagged versions of green tea). That means it's going to be difficult at first to discern between green teas before you're used to the subtlety. So for that reason I wouldn't necessarily suggest getting very expensive or fancy tea right from the get-go. (Rule of thumb is that the flavor gets more subtle as the price increases.)
Sencha (http://www.inpursuitoftea.com/Japanese_Sencha_p/gj500_par.htm) is a good green tea which comes in several different price ranges. This is the "normal" Japanese tea, and you can probably get this in any self-respecting Asian market. You might want to try first flush Darjeeling (http://www.nbtea.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000099.cgi?PN=Teas_From_India.html%23aBI08#aBI08), which is the same tea as on my photo. It's a black tea but has a very light flavor. Definitely something you should try at some point. Also, Ching Wo (http://www.nottinghall.com/chingwo.htm) is excellent black tea. It's about as strong as Earl Grey but has a much fuller flavor.
What the fuck happened to this topic? While this is some good conversation, I was promised pictures of shitty food, and it has not delivered. I think Psyburn has finally realized how good he's really got it. That canned cheese a la mode really takes the cake.Yeah dude, the cooking wasn't as bad as it was a few months ago so I ain't taking pics for awhile.

Tea discussion is way more interesting than psyburn not telling his parents how it is and cooking for himself

Any of these are good starting points. There are hundreds if not thousands of different teas to try, and I only mentioned green and black teas here. There's also oolong tea, white tea, yellow tea, post-fermented tea, and numerous different kinds of pu-erh.
Make sure you get a teapot that allows you to brew loose leaf tea.
Wow, really? I'll have to try that sometime. As long as you don't inundate your tea with it, it sounds as though you can make really interesting combinations.Probably shouldn't have milk.
I'm no tea enthusiast but one of my major goals for the summer (I had a big list) was to find some decent brand of tea. Finally, some recommendations. I'm really sick of the cardboard taste of the generic brands here (lipton, etc)...and I suppose it's not as much as a taste as a...texture? And a slight aftertaste. Anywho, it's boring. I had some Earl Grey from Starbucks the other day and it tasted awful! It tasted cardboardy. Should it or should it not have milk? I don't know how to drink Earl Grey.
Do you ever put anything in your tea or do you feel that subtracts from the subtelty of the flavour? I recently went to a restaurant where they included nutmeg and some other herbs/spices(?) in the handmade teabag and i've been putting nutmeg in my green tea ever since.I never add anything to my tea, unless it's Earl Grey. In that case I usually add a little milk. But never to any of the other teas I drink, simply because it detracts from their flavors too much. Adding milk, sugar or honey to tea is generally only something you do with black tea.
Think I'm gonna go quaff a flagon right now.
