Background
Some of you may know that it's been 3 years since I began working on this project. Yeah, I was pretty sure I'd never work on it again until I caved in and allowed C-Division to help me out with it. Ever since then we've put in a lot a work into the game.
Story
A long time ago, when the word was still young, the lad was seperated into seven kingdoms. The Elders of Star Haven foresaw conflict between the kingdoms as the greediness of the people became aparent. These elders requested a meeting with the original rulers of each of the kingdoms. They became Sages, guardians of their respective lands, and were sent back to the world as representatives from Star Haven.
Now, the Sages are long gone but their spirits live on in Seven Monuments. Legend has it that the key to peace with the kingdoms lies in the power of the Sages.
Many have learned of the power that could be obtained by taking control of these objects, and therefore taking control of the Sages. Two unknown villains have been reported sneaking around recently...

i so would, but rpgmaker puts me off. which version is it, out of interest?
maybe later. we'll see
-
rpg maker 2003.
-
cool. the DBS looks pretty well polished, it definately looks like one of the few RPG maker games i would play. VERY WELL polished and very smooth looking graphics.
-
Woot it's here. I'll play it when I got off work later ^_^.
-
Oh good god gosh. That is a big file. *downloads*
-
RPG Maker 2003 is the BEST of Enterbrain, and I will be downloading this. I love Mario games. Thank you!
-
Well, I enjoyed the demo and started playing through the full version. Got my ass handed to me by the Hammer Bros and gave up. If possible, you may want to lower the size of the game, as 165mb is huge no matter how you cut it.
-
I keep getting an error: System 1ML
-
Download the newest version from 4shared if you can. See if it works then. It's the same link.
-
That didn't work for me either, do I have to have rm2k3 installed?
-
You shouldn't need to. And the file it says your missing isn't in the RTP, it's a Mario only file. I just double checked and it should most definitely be in the exe file.. You're the first person with this error so far so i'll see what happens. Did you make sure to re-download both parts, because the download was being updated last night.
-
But is this 1ML file in the correct System folder?
If the size of a System image file is 160 x 80, then it goes in the System folder.
If its size is 80 x 96, then it goes in the System2 folder.
And I really hope it's in the correct folder because I really don't feel like trying to download such a large game a third time.
-
Yeah downloaded both parts, still not working.
-
Well, other people's games seem to working fine so I'm not sure. I reuploaded it to the same link just in case something was weird if you want to try again...
SegNin, are you experiencing the same problem?
-
Downloading right now, SO stoked to play this. I haven't been excited to play an rm2k3 game in ages. I'll let you know what I think as soon as I get done playing.
-
Oh wait, mine's missing ??????????ML1????????????? too.
Sweet. :(
-
Wow! This game is amazing! Great work has been put into it and the battle system!
Ive got a question as well...
How does the badge system work? I bought some badges from the pentagle guy and I can't find a way to equip them... Are they automatically equipped or something?
-
Go your regular menu. Then go to items. Use the adventure card. Then go to badges. You can equip badges there.
ikool,May I ask what version of the game you're playing because the System ML1 thing seems to be working for you?
Goji, Kcrazy, You guys on this forum are the only ones who have had this problem and so I've checked over and over again on
the system ML1 thing and I can't find the problem. If It comes down to it, maybe I should just make an unencrypted
version so you see all the files right in front of you. That's a last resort though, because I don't all my stuff to be taken. We'll see.

Funny thing, I figured out how to use badges right after I posted this message... Also, your game is working perfectly for me :D
The only thing that I had to download to make it work was RPG Maker 2003?
-
that's weird. You shouldn't have needed it. Which version do you have btw? (which download release?)

I have version 1.1, the file size is about 170mb, and I'm already at the Seaweed Kingdom place.
At first, it said I needed RTPe.exe, but that didn't work, so I just got RPG Maker 2003. Am I playing the wrong version?
-
there's a newer version out which you should get. Save files are transferable. Just follow the instructions.
-
A newer version? What's wrong with the version I have? And if the newer version is necessary, where can I get it?
-
in the opening post, its says download the lastest version.
-
Well... I'm having problems installing the latest version... Is there a big difference in version 1.2?
-
What? Are you getting the system ML1 problem?
-
Sorry about not answering quick enough, but I was able to get the game to work. What happened was I had tried to run the exe file right through Winrar as described to, and it didn't work out. All I really had to do to get my game to work was just extract the folder and run the game's exe file. I'm currently playing now and it's running fine and I'm in the forest after the crash. I keep dying though, the pirhana's chomp is killing me quickly. I love the game though!
-
Ohh, that was the problem. I was getting really confused. Are you playing version 1.2?
-
Yeah, whichever version you most recently put up.
-
okay, good.
-
I'm at the second pipe challenge thing. These are my least favorite part of this whole game, which I adore btw. One of the few RPG maker games I actually enjoy and don't feel like I'm playing an rm2k game with.
But yeah, the problem I've had that had to make me just close the game out was that second pipe challenge. The bug would get into the way of the switch to destroy the block and I couldn't get em out of it, because it's a long path. I could restart the timer but I still had to sit and wait. And restart. And restart. And since it just restarts your position and everything the bugs don't leave the pipe, making for a time wasting experience. If you could fix that for future release so that when you restart, the bugs do too, it'd be much more convenient. It wasn't a difficulty problem, it was just an annoyance. I'll try it again later but it sort of killed my vibe. :P
-
Oh, I know what you mean. The bugs didn't get reset along with the other events. I'll have it fixed in the next release and mention it here. Sorry about that.
-
No problem man! I got around it. I'm currently underwater. Really enjoying this game. :)
-
Version 1.3 out. More minor fixes...
-
Hmmm, downloaded it and been playing. Pretty decent so far, and I really _really_ like how you have different items you get throughout the game that help break away barriers (hammer, super jump, etc) and allow the player to actually take time backtracking through previous areas to get new items. The Mario-style humor is there and spot on, but the story doesn't seem to be anything special so far (I'm underwater).
Will finish this and post more thoughts.
-
Oh, the story isn't much, I'll admit that. Well, it's a mario game. I'l glad you're enjoying it so far.
-
Do you have an alternate way of downloading this? I can't seem to get it to work.
-
The website seems to be down. We'll switch it if it persists.
Here are the two parts.

I am extremely impressed by the quality and attention to detail in this game. The dialogue is pretty much spot on and is very much like what can be found in Paper Mario, so kudos for hitting that nail on the head. =)
-
Well... I am currently at the Final Adventure... The game has had no serious bugs as I have gone through it! There were some times where I would get a critical effect and my character wouldn't do the second attack. It's not a big problem, but I thought I would note it.
-
I am now near the end and all I can say so far before finishing is that this game is massively addicting despite being annoyingly difficult at times. lolrunonsentence
-
Wow, I completely forgot this was posted on the forum. For those of you only know about Seven Sages through here, it's gotten numerous updates and new content since 1.4. A list of new content and bug fixes can be found here (http://icugigasoft.freeforums.org/super-mario-rpg-the-seven-sages-f4-25.html).
-
This. Looks. AMAZING! I'ma get me a copy pronto.
I'm so impressed that this was made in rm2k3 too... and from the Youtube videos it doesn't seem that far off a GBA or earlier mario rpg. GOOD SHOW OLD BEAN!
