Title: Recommend me some PC games.

Games I love and own:
WoW
Pre-ordered Aion
Unreal Tournament 04
CoD2
CoD4
CoD WaW
Fable
Fallout and Oblivion

So if you guys can kind of sort some games out from those you know, like recommend me games that play a lot like those,  are just as good, etc.

Genres would basically include, MMo's FPS'es Rpg's strategy(What are the best strategy games out too btw?)

The Total War series beats out nearly all the competition in my opinion.


Also go east when looking for games. I've noticed that all the good PC games come from the other side of the old Iron Curtain.

ArmaII, STALKER, King's Bounty and Men of War are those that are fairly recent.

I'm excited for Aion, i'm just worried it's going to be another generic korean GRINDFEST.

I'm hearing good things though, just means if I want to play ill have to get a whole new computer :(

You KNOW its yet another Korean grindfest. People think otherwise because it's getting marketed as a "WoW killer". :(

Yeah, they said that of Warhammer online too..

That said, i've heard it isn't half bad.

And yeah, deep down I know it is going to be, i just have this tiny ounce of hope buried deep down that it will be different...

Well, if your ok with semi old games, CoD1 and its expansion United Offensive are pretty good. (Since you obviously like CoD)

That's all I got based on the games you have provided.

FPS games:
Far Cry 2 (if you are a bit of a masochist and don't mind dying A LOT)
ALL of the Half Life games (they are just such excellent games. I URGE YOU to play them if you have not yet)
F.E.A.R (I only tried the first one, and I though it was really good) and if you liked that, Doom 3.
Condemned: Criminal Origins (technically not a shooter, but its in first person and its pretty fun)
Both Crysis games
Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 and 2 (again, if you REALLY like hard shooters)
Left 4 Dead and TF2

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Portal. It's pretty short but the quality of the game is good enough that it doesn't really matter.

Thanks guys.

So far I tried:
Warcraft 3(Which is awesome, definite torrentbuy)
Crysis which I loved but had to run on medium settings

And thats about it for now. Aion LOOKS like its going to be another Korean Grindfest yes, but in reality it is not. I played the beta, and I can Honestly say, it is one of the smoothest mmopg's ive ever played. I personally prefer WoW over it just because of the storyline(Let's face it, Aion has no real story) butGameplay, graphiics, and atmosphere, Aion takes the win.

lets see, i suggest call of juarez 1 and 2. just started playing 2, seems a lot like the first but a lot, lot better and more interesting.

prototype was badass if you like shallow games about smashing tanks with helicopters, which i do.

Unreal Tournament 3. It's cheap, it's gorgeous and perfect to just pick up and play. Oh and tell me your name so we can shoot together because it sucks getting killed by people you don't know at all. At least I'd know that a GWer killed me >_>

Two of the games you listed arent on PC. And Fable 2 is awful.

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines is really buggy, so I suggest you look for the fan patch; that helps out quite a bit with the buggyness.

OK since this thread's already made I don't need to make one.

I have a laptop with pentium cpu .. 2.16ghz - 2.17 ghz (just reading this off of controlpanel.system) , 4 gb ram, vista home.
My video card though is not a video card, its a built in display device; it's utter shit. it is a "mobile intel 4 series express chipset family".
I tried playing fallout 3 and it didnt run. I tried crysis, it ran, but it moved a mile a minute.
Can you recommend me games that are not high demanding, graphics wise but are still playable please. I like any genre, except sports. well, exaggeratedly unreal sports games are fine.

Oh hey Brown you could play Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Warcraft III, Starcraft, System Shock 2, and just about any game that requires Dos Box.

Also now that I think about it, just about any Blizzard Entertainment game will run on that setup.

I would recommend any of the following: WoW, Portal, any of the Mist Games and my favorite time killer on the PC would be Sim City 3000. I am a console junkie so I don't play much on my PC.

deus ex. also morrowind will probably run, you have a shitload of ram and decent processing power for a game made in 2002 or 2003 or whatever and morrowind barely relies on the graphics card at all

I've beaten morrowind way too much :sad: even modded it for the xbox (my own balmora house haha!) good times. but I'll look into deus ex, i have invisible war for xbox but its laggy as hell and I didn't really get into it. I shall try the first one.

Has anybody played the PC superhero game Freedom Force?

There was a little bio in the newest gameinformer and and I had always thought it looked pretty sweet but I won't track it down until I've heard more about it.

freedom force is kinda boring! like yeah initially it's pretty cool and entertaining for few days/hours. it's pretty much one of a kind when it comes to style and presententation what with everything messing around with all the cliche marvel comics stuff in a kind of innocent, good way. but at some point you will reliaze that the rest of the game is just about watching as your guys slowly fight against bad guys (slow rts) with the occasional CLICK for special attacks. nothing ever happens in that game!! i wouldn't buy it though unless it's 3$!!!!

apparently you can basically do all kinds of superheros with the character creator if you are good at models but it mostly blows, it just breaks the campaign. i don't know any good free campaigns for it!

Yeah when I said hunt it down I didn't mean I'd pay for it  :welp:​  I think it would just be something for a bit of fun for a little while.

Dominoes is a series of popular board games of skill played with tiles.

Dominoes is a 2-player game of skill using 28 dominos where each player gets 7 dominos at start. There are 3 variations: Five-Up (aka Muggins or All Fives), Draw and Block. The goal in dominos is to be the first to get the agreed-upon number of points (100 - 500). In Five-Up, points are scored during the play by making the exposed ends of the domino chain total to a multiple of five. I'm a pretty big Left 4 Dead 2 fanboy (so much so that I own 3 copies, one for each one of my gaming rigs) but it's a blast. I feel the reviews undersell it but maybe that's just me. The versus mode is some of the most exhilarating fun I've had in an FPS in a very very long time.

Aww shame - the PC version runs fine on even modest specs (overclocked AM2 5000+ and 7950 GT run smooth on medium settings). I'm sure the source engine is much more heavily optimized for PC since that's where it got its roots.

i know this is old news but about freedom force-
right after i posted here i looked on ebay and found it for 6$ free shipping. I think that is pretty great as about a month ago I paid 6$ for nfl blitz 2000.
I haven't played it much but so far it seems like the game that xmen legends and marvel alliance intended to be. this game is pretty awesome!

Get a PS1 Emulator with all those classics. Currently playing The Legend of Dragoon and will probably play Xenogears afterward.

lol no I knew that. My brothers/friends and I play together online. Plus playing LAN while everyone has the same name is really annoying.

Can you recommend me games that are not high demanding, graphics wise but are still playable please. I like any genre, except sports. well, exaggeratedly unreal sports games are fine.

FPS recommendations:

The original Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games and expansions should run on that. If do don't mind WW2 shooters. Medal of Honor gets kind of repetitive in the second half. Though I haven't played any of its 3 expansions. Doom 3 and its expansion might run, though it also gets repetitive, probably a game you should play in hour long chunks otherwise you get bored. Jedi Academy is pretty fucking awesome and should run. Same with Pariah (which I thought was better than what the critics gave it credit for)

Rogue Trooper Might run as well. Its a pretty fun 3rd person shooter.

If you are up for survival horror there is always the Silent Hill series. The first you'll need to run with an emulator and the latest one would probably be too demanding (plus its buggy as hell), but 2 and 3 are pretty good and are on PC.

Couple more:

All the past generation GTA games should run fine as they are not very demanding. Knights of The Old Republic should also run, but I imagine you've played that already.

You need a subscription and a decent PC to play but Battleground Europe is one of the best PC games I have ever played.   It's an incredible game, which I have been playing for over 5 years now - it's that good.  It's played on a scaled map of Europe, you can play allied or Axis , infantry, air force, tanks or artillery - the map is huge - it would literally take you days to travel across it in real time on foot!

i know you're joking but i seriously used to play that game to look out the windows more than anything
