It'll be called Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, made with the help of J.K. Rowlings
I'm pretty excited to go here! It's opening up just next year, SPRING 2010! Apparently you enter in Hogsmeade and once you do, it feels like you're IN the Harry Potter world, and you can't see the outside. Supposed to be a really big project too, full with a ton of Harry Potter stores (Honeydukes, Zonkos, Three Broomsticks, Hogwarts Castle etc. etc.) with a bunch of cool rides. I really hope they do the place justice, and really make it immersive and huge!
-
Ah this place would be neato,I would totally want to go there and feel like Im in Hogwarts! I am a fan of Harry Potter as they are very imaginitative and the pseudo-high school/pre-teen drama mixed with fantasy theme really atracts me to continue reading the story.

Is that a theme park? I love theme parks. When I die I want to be burried in disneyland. All of them.

i'm squirming with delight

Wake me up when Twilight World opens.

dont be a smartypants
-
it's basically a renaissance theme park.............................

I watched the video on the site. This is so bizarre. My favourite part was when they were talking about how great their theme park is and the names of the other theme parks appeared to be crushed into dust. The bit where it sounded like they were saying that butter beer and pumpkin juice were traditional British food was pretty good too.
-
They could hang a sign on an outhouse saying 'Harry potter world' and they'd make one trillion dollars.
-
did hogwarts have a bunch of theme park rides in it? ugh, totally not authentic, excuse me while i run around a field with a broom between my legs
(student involvement fair is tomorrow, i am going to go and see who signs up for quiddich i need to know who these people are)
-
One time I tried to make butterbeer myself for a friend who was obsessed with Harry Potter. I took beer, added some melted butter, and some honey, then swirled it all together.
Fucking disgusting.
-
If they did make a replica hogwarts it would be pretty awesome to go and see. I would expect a castle by a lake in the mountains though so they would have to invent terraforming first.
-
Man there was some group that was going to make a replica of the Stauf Mansion from The 7th Guest several years ago but I don't think it ever happened.
I'd go see that :(

UGH why can't they keep this bullshit in the books

ugh yeah because you go to Orlando Universal Studios ALL THE TIME. GOD.
-
hey I been there once

That's not the point. The fact that I know it even exists is enough to make my soul shrivel up and die. Just thinking about it makes me want to burn orphanages to the ground, and I'm perfectly willing to do it since my soul is now dead.
I hope Universal Studios Orlando is happy, now their new theme park is indirectly involved in the brutal death of hundreds of orphans burned alive. The harry potter fans had better fucking love it or else all those orphans will have died for NOTHING.
One more thing, there is no room for God in a theme park based off of occult witchcraft.
-
I live in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure (under the Dueling Dragons ride) and let me tell you I don't want a bunch of snot-nosed harry potter fans filling up my lagoon and trying to cast spells and shit, go back to England you dumb potterazis
-
How rude.
-
screw you guys this looks awesome
-
I'd be jumping for joy if I were 11.
-
this is kind of funny because the harry potter stuff has always been really Disney theme park inspired. it's the same kind of fantasy. if you could get yourself wrapped up in it I think it would be a really cool experience but it's also pretty scary tho imagine how much damage this could do
-
i think it's ironic now that there's a theme park named after harry potter when not even ten years ago he was living in a closet underneath the stairs...

Canonically, Harry Potter received his Hogwarts invitation in 1991.
You don't know a god damn motherfucking thing about Harry Potter -.-
