I think it's cool that they'll host that in here for the first time in my life but couldn't they have picked a safer place like iraq?????

Lula is such a fantastic president. For once I've seen a president cry from overjoy.

At G20 Obama told a prime minister, "this guy.. he's the man"
he was pointing at Lula

Why do you have to be judging people's posts? We are all just trying to talk to one another, just take it easy guy.

Weeell... it's like 7 years until then so. I guess it's kinda cool (Tokyo would've been cool too though) but what are we supposed to discuss here? This would've fit better in the what's on your mind topic.

It's a big piece of news, except GW is one of the worst places to talk about sport.

Come on guys, I'm so sick of all of the fighting that's going on tonight. It ends now! We all need to grow up and start acting like mature adults, or our GamingWorld will end up the real world, and no one wants that. I'm sorry to be the bad guy but if this topic continues in this immature fashion then I'm going to have to lock it. You have been warned.

Brazil will own the world's attention by the middle of the next decade:

The World Cup 2014 at Brazil
The Olympics 2016 at Rio

It's not so much worry I'm feeling about 2012 at this point. Really it's boiling down to hope.

In that at this point in history, the world ending and even the idea of the extinction of all human life, is a far less scary thought than the idea of nothing happening and everything just keeps going on the same way it's always been going.

I'm not unreasonable about it though. I am quite certain that nothing impressive or even noteworthy is going to happen then. I'm just telling you that that's exactly what i'm worried about right now. It's a sense of worry I don't share with many people. Although there are probably at least a few out there that do (statistically speaking of course).

Francis Fukuyama was proven wrong. So will you.
Stuff is happening dude.
The wars of the future are going to be about natural resources and energy. Even now Iraq is a war for oil. The Energy Crisis will be a huge source of conflict. Pollution and the Environment will reach a critical point. Population, hunger and diseases.
That's just a few things, get the hell out of your bubble capsule.

Yeah, I think nothing happening is going to be a hell of a lot worse than some disaster.

DJ, I think wars like that are a slice of what he's talking about.

human vs nature
I'd rather back up nature

Humans could blow up the Earth (like literally blow up the entire thing) and it would take us about two hours to manage it. It's going to nature like a billion years. Therefore, humans rule, nature drools.

you didn't get my point. I'm saying that if I had to trust humans or nature, I'd rather choose the later because the former is more dangerous.

Nature can be dangerous just like humans... also how do you trust nature itself? be more specific.

also aren't humans part of nature?

I think that nature is going to cause some dust storm which will cause sand particles to get stuck in people's brains, therefore driving them mad. Leaders would go crazy and the nuclear missiles would fly as a result of the senseless paranoia caused by the deteriorating mental state of these leaders. The world explodes in a fiery nuclear hell.

Nature wins. Uses people.
