Title: Game Maker - Anyone here good at it?
Post by: Drule on October 15, 2009, 10:23:59 pm
I'm trying to get into Game Maker but there's no good documentation and the community is horrible, so I'm wondering if anyone here knows GM and could provide me with some help over IM or IRC from time to time.

Thanks.

There's a ton of documentation, tutorials, and examples.

Sure there's in-depth documentation about the maker in general, but when it comes to GML I've only been able to find a few vague tutorials. GM is lacking a lot of straight forward basic information on a lot of aspects that should be easy.

If you have any good resources though then feel free to post them here too.

Yeah man pm me and I'll see what I can do, too.  I'm not THE BEST or anything but I pretty much learned out of necessity how to do pretty much everything that is required to make an RPG (RPG stuff and interfaces are about all I can do) so please take that in consideration when asking stuff

edit: oh and I never bothered with dragndrop so I don't know it. I don't think you're asking for stuff in dnd though!

Edit2: also yeah the community is pretty bad, but I don't actually post topics to ask questions. All I do is use the search function. Believe me, almost every sensible question asked about GM has been answered on the GMC at some point in time.
