Okay, so here's the deal.
I've started Christmas shopping online this month just to get it out of the way now, and to avoid the holiday rush in November/December. Things are going pretty good and I feel like I have some pretty awesome gift ideas this year, however.. I am having trouble finding something that I am looking for.
One of the things I would like to get my brother is a decently sized ceramic/porcelain statue of some kind of mythical creature. Dragon or gryphon preferred. Now, I've looked all over eBay and couldn't find anything too remarkable. Most of it just looked like silly shit that you'd buy for a 13 year old fantasy novel reader. I don't want bright, happy looking dragons, nor do I want them to be small (as in being able to fit in one hand).
What I am personally looking for is a statue about the size of a standard computer tower which doesn't look like a shitty cartoon character or anything.
So here's my question, GW. Does anyone here know of any good sites with ceramic and porcelain statues, among other things? I want something that looks pretty good but isn't overly expensive (as in, I'm not paying $200+ for a statue of this size).
So if you guys have any links or anything, that would be pretty helpful!

but nah idk where you'd find a dragon statue that ISN'T something for a 13 year old fantasy novel reader. I don't think they exist.

I was stupid enough to click on the link.

I'm assuming that link is NSFW.
But yeah, you may be right. I'm also looking at some other things such as end tables and such which are actually fairly neat.

Dragons are cool shit. I just need to make sure that I avoid anything kiddy looking. I may just keep browsing eBay using different terms. Maybe I'll search up "props" or something, since there's always cool shit left over from Hollywood movies on eBay.

Ah now you see that's what I'd acll a dragon for a 13 year old fantasy novel reader so
-
Yeah man when you said 13 year old fantasy reader dragons that is almost exactly what I pictured!
-
why don't you get your brother something he'd use like an ounce of canada's finest instead of a stupid statue of a dragon
or get one of those african tribal ebony statues with a big legged-grandma/budda lookin lady skinning a prarie dog with big fat ol titties
-
a huge dragon would be sick\\
if you find a place let me know i wana get one
-
Yeah, I decided to go with a different approach. A few Iron Maiden related things and, literally, several dozen hacky sacks (he's fucking kicking those 24/7).
Now to find something else!!
When I think of it, the whole dragon thing would have been cool about 3, 4 years ago. Not so sure now.

buy him a dreidel
edit: now that i think about it that probably would be a funny gift to get from someone on Christmas, especially if neither party is Jewish. heh heh

When I was like 9 years old I used to have these pewter miniatures of warriors and skeletons and shit. I had this one really big pewter dragon statuette that cost around $50 and was pretty reasonably sized. I'd suggest getting a pewter statuette instead of a ceramic one because ceramic looks like shit and the pewter ones are much more detailed. I'm pretty sure the company that made the ones I played with was Ral Partha, so you might want to google them and see if you can find anything.
Not that I think you should buy your brother such a stupid piece of shit.

do you guys not have uhhhhh.... drug stores? the ones you go in to buy really elaborate 'tobacco' pipes and incense? they're usually lined with horrible band t-shirts, stupid skulls and dragons and whatever and hacky sacks. though their mark-up is usually high (pun) it'd probably be cheaper than shipping

Don't give him junk

Head shops is what they're called in America.

yes me too! Except now my little brother (who is somewhere between 15 and 17 I'm not sure) keeps buying new ones and I think he probably should have outgrown that habit by now?
