Title: Gadurin
Post by: Iginla on February 02, 2010, 12:23:41 am
Gadurin was a game for Super Famicom, I heard it was actually the very first rpg released for the system. It was never released outside Japan. Does any one know anything about it, like what the story was? Obvisouly you can only play it in Japanese.

I had a rom of this game but for some reason it was called GD-LEEN (like that Exile game getting some weird Engrish acronym that no normal westerner would find cool) Gadurin makes a million times more sense, sounds like it could be the planet or the antagonist of the game or something

I forget if I was aware this was the first SNES rpg. I think there was a translation in the works but only menus were done (that is the cheapest shit ever)

I like how the scenery is so repetitive but the game was probably revolutionary as fuck because it has this continuous world instead of a world map like DW/Final Fantasy like people would just get their kicks out of WALKING for hours

Edit: The random dinosaur shit reminded me of Bonk RPG which probably would've sucked even if it was released but still there's frustratingly little info on it

how are those the only screens - there must be some obsessive Japanese Bonk fan who has more stuff about the game - like I can pretty much figure out what a Bonk RPG would be but Bigfoot has better quality photographs than this game

Aeon Genesis has been working on it on and off, but the patch isn't finished yet.
