Title: Charity under Steel's name
Post by: cartertac on June 26, 2010, 04:07:30 pm
I thought you guys might want to know that we finally got the charity created under my brother's name. It's called Amark S Patra Fund Benefiting Cancer Research and Soup Kitchens. Majority will go to cancer research and a small portion goes to Soup Kitchens since he was very much into that. Here's a link to where you can donate. Just search for the charity in the search box.

http://www.trianglecf.org/ways_to_give/donate_now/

You can also give cash or wire money if you can't pay by credit card. The instructions on how to do that are here:

http://www.trianglecf.org/ways_to_give/cash/

Anyway, if there are any questions or anything, just let me know and I will try to answer them. He was very fond of you guys and I know you wanted to know what's going on with this. Hence why I brought this over.

I'll bookmark this and see about making a donation when I've got some money to spare. Right now I literally have 0 bucks but that should change soon.

Thanks for the replies, guys. And don't worry, this charity is ongoing so it won't be disappearing anytime soon! You can give money whenever you want. And I promise, your money will go to the places it says it will go.

Thanks a lot for your support, guys. I forgot to mention that this is tax deductible so those you who do taxes might want to take note. I really appreciate your comments and donations. I know Amark would be thrilled to hear about this too.

I'm sorry for double posting but I'm just letting you know that the charity is still going and we'd love all the help we can get. I know Amark would too. It's tax deductible and even the littlest bit would help. My mother and I greatly appreciate everything you guys have done and continue to do for him.

Thanks, guys. I hope you're doing okay, I know it's been so long since I came here. I'm bumping it again to remind you all to keep donating and giving. It will help keep his memory alive. Also, the money from his book sales did go into the charity as well. Things aren't going too well with the charity right now so we could really use your help.

Anyway, I want to know if you've got any ideas on how we can raise money Amark's charity. We don't want to lose the charity and we want to keep his spirit alive so if you have any ideas, let me know. We're willing to do pretty much anything. Thanks.

I wonder if anyone else has cried at this bus station.

I don't know why Amark's writing hits me so hard.

I don't have any money to donate, but I'll be thinking about how to promote it!

Thanks, all. Right now, I'm coming up with various fundraising ideas. My friend made a lot of necklaces for the charity. All the proceeds from that will go straight to it. I'm also thinking various other things and will let you know what's happening with that.

Hate double posting but I'm bumping this to remind you all that come a few more days, it'll be one year. We're still accepting donations into his charity. It's very hard though and we could always use more help. So please, if you can, give a little bit. It can help keep his legacy alive. Thanks.
