I just started playing a few days ago and it's pretty fun. I'm 8-11 in 5v5 Normal Games after starting out 0-7.
I'm trying to learn the time wizard guy; his ultimate ability brings someone back from the dead if they die within 15 seconds after you cast it.

I have 28 more wins than losses and my mains are currently Jax (semi retired) Kayle and Katarina. I just got EZ and although I'm good with landing his skill shots my zoning is p shit so I die easily and I am far from being an adequate harasser which makes me a total nonfactor (though he is fun to play!). I can play a good teemo but those are boring and have no real value in team play which is why I avoid him despite having the best win/ loss ratio with him. And everyone knows how to play Ashe~

also whoever your friend was was spergin out of control the whole game. the other team was clearly outplaying us the whole time, there's no reason to be such a jerk about it.

No worries. Idk what friend that was I think I deleted him for being a d-bag.

I've won 1 in the last 10 games. In my last game I was 15-5-7 and we lost. Before that we were 40-20 and our panth was 18-2 and we lost. I cannot win a game.

And yes that hero is in HoN. It's the Soul Reaper.

HoN is just Dota with a new engine though. Although good for what it is LoL plays out like a true sequel should... although the link between the two games are tenuous at best. Although cosmetically similar they feel like completely different games.

I used to love Dota though. And I fought tooth and nail to bring people over to HoN. But when I got into the closed beta of LoL I couldn't bring myself to come back. I played the same damn game for too long and I welcomed this breathe of fresh air.

I might try HoN again though. From the looks of things it seems like they distanced themselves from the old formula just enough to spark interest in me again.

She's okay as far as how effective she can be but her main draw for me is how fun she is to play.

I recently bought Mordekaiser, Olaf, and Pantheon thinking they'd be fun to play based off of how others seem to handle them but they really aren't for me. Kat is really where it's at though. You can go either way with her because her ultimate scales on both AD and AP (picks the higher of 50% AD or 30% AP) so you can play her as either caster or melee dps (though try not to hybrid her... that doesn't end well. Add the fact that her skills require nothing but their respective cooldowns and you can probably see why playing her is so liberating. I personally love bouncing blades. It's an excellent last hitter and once it's leveled high enough the bounce is almost guaranteed to hit an enemy champion. It used to be more useful at harassing enemies head on at lower levels but they decreased it's initial casting range recently.

There is a draw back though. She has ridiculously low defenses and attack speed. Although you are free to build her however you please if you don't sacrifice something odds are she wont be very effective. I usually go AP because several items ap items (rod of ages, rylai's scepter, haunting guise, etc) comes with HP which is an enourmous bonus... not to mention how Scepter adds slow to her skills and ring adds the 2 second invincibility. These bonuses are very important because Kat is always the no. 1 target. If you go against a stunner you almost always have to go veil because if you don't you'd be totally worthless in team fights because they actively save it for you when you ult. If you go AD you will ultimate do more damage than you could with AP and do so without about 500-600 physical attack damage.... but without attack speed modifiers her DPS is shit so you have to decide whether or not you want your ult and bouncing blades to do less damage in favor of better DPS or, in both AD and AP, whether or not you want more HP. Kats used to go Leviathan when it added 2 stacks per assist but they die too often to keep the normal one so they opted for Warmogs or Sunfirecape instead. I tried sunfirecape a few times and it does a lot to curb her weaknesses... especially if you go AP build.

So yeah... there is a lot of ways you can go with this one. She isn't a team staple because her flaws be fatal ones but she definitely is a fun play.

Not if your team sucks. Though, I will say again: My 3v3 team is undefeated, except for 1 match where only one of us connected. Shen(me), Shaco, Zilean/Akali

If you play for KDA, than you might not want Shen, he doesn't have much killing power. But he does have some douchebag moves. Taunt(Shadow Dash) while an enemy is near a tower, Port(Stand United) into team fights, Taunt and run into your team (forcing enemies to follow). If you're good (I'm not) avoid a lot of incoming damage with Feint.

Though, if you are just starting pick Ryze. He's incredibly easy to play and extremely powerful against people who don't know how to counter him (the majority of players lower than level 10)

I really eed to get back in and play some more, but my one friend who played Shaco kinda stopped playing.

first ranked game experience: the team captain (person with the highest elo) akali went 0-8 and rage quit after our ezreal dced, followed by another dc by our ashe. the only two left were me (twitch) and amumu, also the only two players with positive kdrs on our team.

I wish LoL or HoN would develop different gamemodes like escorting a dude across a map or surviving an onslaught of enemy waves etc. just something that differs from the norm because I really tire of the current 5v5 gameplay in both games.

like i think the problem was that he was a stealth or assist character or something but there was no indication of this pre-game, so i tried to attack people and would just get annihilated every time. im a piece of shit

It doesn't matter how many players there are per team because its still the same formula and after a while it starts to get really grindy and tedious. Thats where I would really like to see some variation.

he's easily one of the best characters in the game.

the thing is even if you pick a super good character and you have no experience you're going to be trash no matter what, there's definitely no EASY WIN button in this game.

Each team is worse than the last. If I won its because the enemy team had exceptionally bad players in their ranks. If I lost it's because it was my teammates who were fucking up. There were no normal games yet. Good lord... I am being teamed up with levels 20-29s more often than not because of how fucked my score has now become. It's all I come into contact with. I know I'm only a few games in but so far it's been an absolute chore to play in ranked games in the solo queue because of the pool of players at my current level (1100-1200 fffffff).

Fuck that.

Even the regular matchmaking system is more forgiving than that. Now my score is so bad I don't think I'll ever recover in a meaningful way. I know it's only a few wins from being NEUTRAL but the odds of that happening are so slim and I am so far behind I no longer see any point in competing as far as points is concerned.

according to a dev this character has been in development since before shen, they've just been balancing him (trying to)

With that said the quality of players I come into contact with (both because of my current score as well as the recent bannings) have made solo ranking much more enjoyable.

What if I enter a a solo game alone with four other guys that have never met each other and the other team has four guys who have been playing together forever and are communicating over Ventrillo or whatever. first time breaking 1000 AP, and that was with only 12 stacks. had to sell my boots at the end though :p

and yea you can do ranked solo with a 2 man team but that's the max.

i think shaco will always be banned because 1) he is annoying as fuck and 2) you have to trust your teammates to not get ganked by him every minute starting at minute five

All of the low level games I got put into through solo queues are abysmal. Nobody on the team communicated, I did all of the pinging, and this Tryndamere complained that we were terrible. I'm way too used to playing L20+ games with people who know what they're doing, lol.

At least I got a decent number of kills on Panth.

i was just in a game as eve and my lane mate, panth, left at only level 2, but we were still able to come out ahead in tower kills(we took out 3 outer turrents they only had one down in my lane) and i'm not sure about team kills, but i had 5/5/6 so we probably weren't that far ahead... I hope this is just a problem in my elo range or something and i can get away from it eventually

I've come back from crap like my first example, surely you've still got a shot at coming back from the second one... instead people seem willing to quit the moment things don't seem to be going there way

All in all I think I spent about 40 bucks on the game so if I got 20-30 I would be a happy camper. I've got the 40 heroes from both champ packs (including the free silver kayle skin) and I bought Udyr. I've also accumulated about 12k IP to use on level 20 runes (I'm 18 atm). So yeah! If anyone is interested I will probably only trust to do this with someone I recognize on the forums or someone who has a good rep with someone I recognize on the forums. I think I might want the new Dawn of War expansion or Borderlands GOTY, both which are 30USD a piece but that might be a bit high priced.

Oh and the reason I want to do this is because I won't have time to put into the 45 minute long matches anymore, I still like the game just can't play it!

Not counted in this are the champions I bought with RP. The $50 I spent on the two champion bundles gave me 40 champions, 93,620 IP worth if purchased outside of these two bundles while a few were purchased with RP individually, though often included in skin bundles (since I did get a few skins).

So even after I spent over $100 unlocking content I still had to work towards the 131,485 IP I've spent so far unlocking the rest.... possibly more considering the runes I first bought then later recombined once game changes rendered them useless by way of nerfing or providing better options.

Killing Spree sounds play once you get so many kills. Legendary is the highest one for kill streaks (You/An ally/enemy are/is legendary)

I never understood why there must be a debate over the two games and why people can't accept them both. Playing LoL makes me miss a lot of the HoN/Dota mechanics but at the same time I enjoy what LoL has done for the genre and improving certain aspects of the game.

anyway yeah today was a patch day but something went wrong and the maintenance took longer than usual. now the servers pretty much broke
