They usually hold a big fireworks display for Canada Day down by the beach in my city. The beach itself isn't that great, and I'm fairly certain Lake Ontario has reached mutation-enabling levels of toxicity, but the fireworks are usually pretty and they hold a carnival of sorts. They usually have a few stages setup and they basically shut down most of the city because everyone heads down there.
Oh, they also hold a Marijuana Day or something. I'm not sure exactly, because I've never gone to it (crazy stoners! lol420), but the police don't seem to care and they just make sure they keep it separate. Maybe I'll mosey on over heh heh.
So what are your plans? Copious amounts of liquor? Roman Candle re-enactments?

I'll be working during the day. Then I'll play some video games when I get back home. Probably go to bed before midnight.
-
i'll be standing watch from 0600 to 1800, but maybe find an impromptu cookout to party at that night since i'm off the following day.
-
I'm working two full shifts on Canada Day, so yeah... No plans.
-
fucka moose for me eh

I have tomorrow off, so I'm coming back to Halifax for the long weekend to see the rest of my family and my two cats which surely miss me!

How is Canada Day traditionally celebrated? You mentioned fireworks, but I don't imagine Canadians celebrating in the way of grilling ribs, hotdawgs and hamburgas like we do in the States.

Pretty much the same way. I want to say more drinking, but I have no way to qualify this impression.

I'm working till late afternoon, then the family and I will make a trip to an empty patch of grass in the park to barbecue and watch explosions in the sky. I'm fairly certain there will be potato salad involved.

Some poor schmucks replaced our watch team today, so I will NOT be working 36 hours this weekend, and I will be partying very hard in the name of our forefathers. I WANT SOME LSD.

I live in a certain part of Quebec where it's not socially acceptable to celebrate Canada day.  â€‹

We have a lot of fireworks and we grill if we can, but this year too many people had contrary plans for us to get our shit together. I worked on Canada Day. I also heard a lot of fireworks yesterday (the 3rd) because people can't do it until the weekend I guess. Not so many tonight (the 4th), because we SPIT ON AMERICA

IT was my birthday on the 1st so I had a picnic and a party. We had our fireworks on the 3rd for some reason and i had work today- but igot praise and it's time-and-a half..
