I just quit university (for several reasons), which means now I have a lot of free time to spend. I'm not in a creative mood at all. There are like over 300 episodes of ER, so I'm going to start watching it nonstop to keep my mind busy. What do you think about this?
-
play dwarf fortress and make something REALLY BIG
but seriously if you're going to embark on a series so long running be sure you don't get too into it! you will never escape
-
If you really want to just go through an entire series I'd recommend going through all 110 episodes of Babylon 5.
-
Let's see.
There are 331 episodes of ER. Since you're probably downloading them you won't be seeing any commercials, so that's 45 minutes per episode. That totals at about 14895 minutes or 10 days, 8 hours and 15 minutes just sitting behind your monitor and watching Dr. Carter repair hangnails.
Sounds like an excellent plan.

I don't need this dada.
So is it a good series? I'll watch babylon 5 once I'm done with er
-
i really don't think er is a good series.
-
surprised it would only take that long if you watched nonstop has anyone on GW really attempted this??? marathon viewing of a show pee in bottles etc.
I've watched entire british shows in one sitting lol it took 5 hours (britons we can't think up more than 5 episodes of a show at one time)

I don't watch tv proper but I always like to have something on so I burn through series like crazy. Watched all 8 seasons of Bad Girls in I think under three weeks, just got season 5 of The Facts of Life yesterday and I'm about to start the last disc today, took about a week to go through the 80ish episodes of the first season of Pokemon...if that's all you watch it really doesn't take long especially since there aren't commercials. Right now I'm working on the original series of Ultraman. So dang good.
My point is, ER is dumb, even dumber than the shows I watch.
-
Why not watch something like arrested development through instead that is decent and not as long

How I met your Mother

I do at least consider ER one of those shows like it's OF ITS TIME like I'd like to watch it and see things get progressively less 90's and more 00's
I felt this way about MADONNA at one point though like her outfits change/audio gets less 80's fidelity as time progresses
-
That is the best thing about The Facts of Life. As it gets closer to the later 80s everyone's clothes get worse and their hair gets bigger and you can just watch it happen right before your eyes.

also was rewatching some early x-files a little (found some vhses at a tag sale) and it was all sort of it felt like an episode of SEINFELD because of same time period like chasing a bad guy through new york kitchen looks suspiciously like papi's pizza Mulder's apartment is really just Jerry's apartment on the darkside - but I remember later on they had those Doggett episodes and there was this episode with this Genie lady and it just seemed totally like late 90's idea of cool like probably not actually cool but as hip as tv writers were at that time
mad TV isn't a great show but the early episodes seem 90's as fuck like violently 90's was it basically a rip-off of In Living Color back then
-
watch x-files instead mince.

watch x-files instead mince.
I did that before entering university.
Don't talk about x files in this topic. Talk about ER.
-

-
Why not? I'm downloading season 1
-
listen to all of ER while watching this record on repeat

Thank you Ragnar

mince you are making bad decisions at least watch grey's and oogle over all da hotties
-
Stick to Sci Fi and go with watching all of Battlestar Galactica.
-
its just a waste of time. you could probably watch the entirety of several other much better series's in the time it took you to watch all over ER. or do something else even more productive. i once read something that said if the average american spent their tv time studying foreign languages they could learn several in their lifetime. but even if you want to watch something there are many series that are better in pretty much every way than er.

Inri you're bilingual, aren't you?
