Title: 3Ds
Post by: Swordfish on March 01, 2011, 12:38:37 am
I had a go at a demo model, they only had one VR card and some basic pre-loaded software, that said the effect is really good and it actually works but it does for lack of a better description feels heavy on the eyes when you watch it, the analouge nub thing is.. well actually it's all perfectly positioned except for one thing, the nub is used for camera control, so unless you can move thumb fast, your not going to be able to move your character AND your camera. Not sure what else to say, so ask if and if i can reply i'll do so.

From what I've read, the heavy on the eyes thing goes away after you use it for a while.

yeah once you find a suitable level to have your 3ds' 3d slider on.

Did you play any retail software stuff?  Just asking because the whole nub thing working as a camera versus character movement sounds... off.

Oh, so only the preloaded software then?  That sucks, could have at least had Street Fighter there considering how often it's being pimped for the thing.

Bad news: Ocarine of Time 3d isn't a launch title

Awesome news: Master Quest is apparently included in the game.

it's getting a new mario game that's cool too. i'm not really a fan of handhelds but if 3ds gets enough interesting games i might buy one later.

I was looking forward to this until I heard about the NGP.

Which is probably going to cost twice as much but if it was anything like the last generation it will be something I'll get 950% more use out of. I like ninty handhelds in theory.... but their game library has been severely lacking lately, especially when compared to the PSP. If they can come up with something new I might look into it but I've had enough of rehashes of familiar formulas and remakes of the same games I can readily play elsewhere.

The master quest that was released on the gamecube is not the true master quest persay, just a re-hash of the original with differant/harder dungeons. The true master quest was to add extra content and would become Zelda gaiden or as it was finally known, Majora's mask.

I just hope that unlike the original DS the 3DS in terms of software starts kicking off sooner rather than later.  Software wise it already has a better line up coming in by comparison but there is still the matter of playing the waiting game.

@ Pig Style

True, but was confirmed at GDC it will hit early in June.
