You know the idea of stringing together a bunch of budget airline flights to kind of hop across the world and get where you really want to go, you think that works? I guess I'm just asking if anybody has done it - it's a lot of work to try and piece flights together, which is probably why people don't do it if it is actually much cheap, but if it's like, you can pay say:
£400 to go to china straight
or
£20 to go to greece from the UK, then £50 to turkey, then £150 to china - or something (assuming there would be budget/cheaper/foreign airlines doing these routes - i haven't looked it up or anything), then maybe it would be worth it? I dunno. I spend a lot of time thinking about how much I want to get out of where ever I am.
Anyone know about piecing together cheap travel like this? It'd probably be better if you weren't picky about where you were going, and just moved around for a while with some money for that put aside.
china's probably a bad example, though.

Man I think those twenty quid flights have like 50 quid TAX or whatever added on to them also. £20 to Greece would be one HELL of a deal!
-
some do, some are tax free somehow. i don't really know how it works - i take it through to the about to pay stage and no tax is added on, or what is added on is pretty small (like £12 for a £20 flight to france somewhere).

I wanna go to China...

i just do drugs like everybody else

Jamie why do you travel so much? Are you going to school still? do you just like to go out and travel for a little bit at a time when you can or what?
I like traveling too but riding on 16 hour flights is hell so I usually stay close to north america unless I got to work overseas. I wanna travel cross continent more often, might do it in the near future when I work my shit out and pay my car off.

I don't know HOW Europe has these deals on flights, because I easily pay a few hundred American $ just to cross a couple states.
I'm going to try to get stationed on USS Enterprise for its decommissioning tour, because it's basically guaranteed world travel.

I think it's so we can travel around during our state mandated five week holidays!!!

Sure, THAT'S the reason... nerd...

Mostly so do we, it's just these few airlines offering weird deals from time to time. I once flew to Riga and back (~1000km one way) with around 20 euros. They are usually pretty crappy as well, if you want to bring luggage it's 30 euros extra something like that, no food served of course etc.

I'll fly in a cargo plane next to a mule for 20 euro.

i think there's generally a charge to leave airports as well, on top of ticket prices. iirc hawaii's is pretty high and it really sucks if you have to stop over there. but i don't travel so what do i know!
-
as far as I know they don't charge anything to leave you just have to go back through the security checkpoints and you have to go through the customs stop of any country you're trying to leave into. Its a long line of bullshit both ways and I wouldn't advise it unless you got more than a couple hours to kill.

lol I went through like four airports with a bic lighter in my pocket and I got through half of the metal detectors with an iron wristlet that I lost when going through damn security fucking security checkpoints suck
