ok i got invited to a friday party and i saw the invite list and they were all deranged white hipster except one black girl but she doesnt count because she is a drug addled hipster. is this gross. i wanted to go to drink but ill feel gross. i imagine i can dress up white but idk whats dressing up white and guiltrip the fuck out of people
i dont know how i feel about a lot of white people satirizing gangster shit or whatever. i dont think its their place. it just sounds hella patronizing and racist but its ironic or whatever. i sere this in facebook all the time and its kindof gross. but then maybe iam just a big hurt babby or whatever

it was pretty gross and awful! how the journalism dept. thought that it was a good idea baffles me!

you're invited so i guess you know these people, written off as hipsters or not. if it were me, i'd confront them about it. since you're more socially savvy than me i guess you might just ignore it? i don't go to parties.
on a related note, the first issue of my uni's student magazine had an article in it some white girl wrote, which might as well have been called "how to pull asian bitches (they vain, u like it.)" i think the actual title was "how to be a rice king." what gets me is that when you talk to the same kind of people about racism they're like "i hope all the racism dies with the old people."

But really, since these are your friends you should use this opportunity to create an open discussion on the benefits of stereotyping and satirizing a subculture in order to throw a rad party. How if an actual gang member or non-gang member who found identity from that culture showed up at the party they would be marginalized by all the people who refuse to understand who they are and instead appropriate those attributes for their own personal gain. Maybe after that you can all dreadlock your hair and laugh at the irony.
