Rm2k and Rm2k3 were Japanese only releases. There was never an official translation. Any english releases/translations are entirely illegal.

So, what, he's going to purchase the Japanese version, then illegally convert it to English? That'd be against the EULA, and thus negate the purpose of purchasing the license..  So that would be the answer to his question. Alternatively, he can always use royalty free resources for his "cheap as chip sets" from Charas..

i do not know where you got converting it to english. all he needs is a translation of the EULA.

Oh.. well...

The Japanese EULA states the graphics cannot be used outside a legal copy of RM2k3 or RM2k.

Well, not legally.  Listen, Wyatt, if you're using an English version of RM2/3 you're already using a pirate program, so lily-livered worries about item legality should go by the board.

I'm not using rm2k3, I want to know about the GRAPHICS, purely the graphics.

but thank you for your replies anyway

Can I sell my games created with RPG Maker XP/VX and its game materials included in (or added on to) the software?

Yes, you can distribute games you created with RPG Maker XP/VX or IG Maker, using its included (or added on) materials, as freeware or commercial ware. You are also allowed to modify the materials with other software such as Photoshop, provided they are only used within RPG Maker or IG Maker software, and not sold/or distributed. You can also include your own graphics and music if you wish. Please ensure that those games do not include any material which infringe others' rights.

Please note that any modification of the exe, dll, or other game files generated by RPG Maker or IG Maker is forbidden. Also, you may not use the materials included in the software (or add-on package) within other game engines or software.

This is from the official RMVX FAQ, and I imagine its the same for all their makers.
