Title: bevis and butt-Head

it's cool. does anyone else like beavis and butt-head...i think it's pretty cool. can you comprehend the levels of meta-textual irony i'm embedding into this post. then maybe you'd like beavis and butt-head...it's cool

Post by: jamie on November 22, 2011, 12:06:40 pm: also i like the idea of an animated comedy set in a modern wasteland where everybody is mostly just bored and then some stuff happens but most of the ones i watch about this AREN'T cool...unlike beavis and butt-head...but I like home movies and sometimes old simpsons and i heard king of the hill is good but i haven't really watched it yet. i think my dream job would be to sit in a kind of rutty flat somewhere 10 floors up and make one of these shows. i want to hit that sweet spot though...i haven't found the sweet spot for an idea yet.

I don't think it's quite the same, as it was a show very much rooted in the '90s, but they understand the characters enough to make it still work. It's a much better revival than MTV's attempt to bring back Celebrity Death Match a few years ago.

These last few episodes have given me one of my new favorite lines from the show. "I think pornography is like... the study of porn."

daria was cool when you're like 15 in the late 90's-early 00's but the show really aged badly. i don't think it'd translate well to today, everything would need an update including its themesong, cuz i don't think a sarcastic/jaded uppermiddleclass teen's romp through the post-grunge american suburbia would have any relevance at all now

picturing daria as relavent today made me picture somthing horrible, daria as an anime... ECH!
