Title: Is there anything useful you can do with cat litter?
Post by: bootstrap bill on December 17, 2011, 03:12:47 pm
Since urine is rich in nitrogen and cat litter is something like clay I was thinking I could dry it in the sun and reuse it a few times to produce urea-rich cat litter and maybe use it as a fertilizer or something. Also does anyone know if UV light destroys ammonia vapors, because my sister keeps the entire fucking house closed because she doesn't want the cat to go outside, so the litter box ends up making the whole place reek of ammonia.

Throw all your science at me, GW.

Its extremely useful for cleaning oil spills or any kind of petroleum based viscious liquid you gotta clean up. Its actually our #1 for getting up sizable leaks or whatever the fuck that haven't gotten into the water. Funny story one time we a crane operator smashed a container in Puerto Rico into another one or somethin and they woke me up at like 1am to help clean it up. the second I ran out there grabbed a shovel and threw some litter down I flipped over and busted my ass cus I had my tennis on.

I'm still goin to seattle when I get home, it'll be around the 22 of january. I talked to my captain yesterday and he said I'll prolly be back around that date for sure. My bdays on feb 1st, I'm gonna try to fly over there around then and visit my buds if you still wanna hang. I know you said it was better in the spring.

Aspargus, ask your sister to scoop the box every day or at least once every couple of days and change half the litter once a month or something.(I'm no expert on that last bit- some people suggest once a week.) I'm not certain about add-ins or scented litters- apparently some cats don't like that. Some people use non-clumping cat litter on snow and ice to increase traction- Clumping litters, however, are slippery when wet and should never be used.

I try to do that, the problem is: she closes the windows whenever I open them. Ammonia builds up. Entire house stinks.

Cat Litter, or to give it it's proper name, Nekocatamite Iranus, is a very useful element, number 67 on your periodigal table. It is a heavy metal with similar properties to iron sulphate. When subjected to water (H2O) infiltration, it produces a strong smell, similar to that of out of date cow's eggs. This should be avoided.

Nekocatamite Iranus must be kept in a waterproof container, or as it is known in the laboratory, a Jar. When handling this element, you must always make sure to use your safety gloves, as exposure to the moisture in your skin can cause it to produce the previously mentioned smell. The Cat Litter is then removed from it's container (jar) and placed on a thin slice of magnesium. The Magnesium must then be wrapped around the Nekocatamite Iranus, forming a parcel. This then allows you to place the parcel into water (H2o), the magnesium serves as a Radiotronic buffer, blocking the water(htwoO)'s radio interferance, allowing the Cat Litter to react undisturbed.

After four nights, your container (Jar) will be noticably absent of water (H20) and in it's place you will notice a small insect, A Nekocatamant. The Nekocatamant must be removed using your safety prongs, or, Srongs. When it is suspended at exactly 27.6598 centimentres from the tabletop, it must then be taken anti-clockwise into your Nekocatamant storage farm. Here it will be fed a concentrated high sugar brand of magnesium, it's excreta captured by a gutter, and taken down into a press. The press will compact the Nekocatamant defici  into a carbon crystaline substance, Charcoal (carbonite orsonwellis), which can be used for drawing, fuel or lubricating guitar strings at the Neck of the guitar.

I hope this has been of help.

I completely understand and didn't expect to take up too much of your time. Still not sure when it'll fall exactly I could be out here shorter or longer depending on when I gotta go to singapore and when we get done with these jobs out here. If you need a ride or somethin I can pick you up too. And if you can't I understand that too, just figured I'd let you know.
