I'm conjoining the "what're you reading?" and "what're you watching?" topics to compact the stickies a little more, and plus neither of them are really active enough to have separate topics. What're you watching has been around since December and it only has 2 pages. I would simply merge them, but that might be a little too confusing.
Currently I'm watching Genshiken. I read the manga and loved it, so I decided to check out the anime.
I'm not currently reading any particular series, though I have been reading a book about the history of DC Comics, and it has some pretty interesting stuff.
-
Currently watching: Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, Claymore, Darker Than Black, Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou
Currently reading(waiting for chapters): Claymore, Berserk, Hunter X Hunter(lol)
-
I WANTED to read Blame! but my little brother has it and I have no idea where it is. As for watching, though, I'm just going to recap good old Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star.
-
I've been watching Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem, which is basically a series of Daft Punk music clips that run in sequence with each other. The animation was produced by Toei and supervised by Leiji Matsumoto. Basically it's really awesome and everyone should check it out.
-
oh i went to see that in cinema like 3½ years ago
-
Watching: Slayers Next, Cowboy Bebop, You're Under Arrest
Reading: Nothing, although I might start reading Trigun or City Hunter.
-

- Negima (losing interest but WHAT IS THIS FATE AVERRUNCUS now I want to see at least him.)
-
Watching: Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann.
Reading: The Question v1 (O'Neil's Question, sort of decieving that the comic book Question is completely different in every aspect to the JLU one, save the costume, still a pretty good read), The Question v2 (Veitch's Question mini-series where he's some sort of urban shaman from all the meditating he did), still trying to find Dikto's (the original Carlton Question).
-

EDIT: Accidently posted, ignore this.
-
I've been reading the X Files comics lately from the mid 90's. They are actually extremely awesome and have fun plots keeping in feel with the series.

The Question is a pretty cool character. He features quite a bit in DC's 52 actually, which is neat.
-

Currently Reading: Seimaden Volume 2, Liling Po Volume One
-
Currently reading Evangelion Manga. I've only seen episodes of the TV show here and there but the manga is turning a lot better. Seeing as the creators really didn't where they were going with it in the first place, I'm not surprised. They should consider adapting it and maybe "redo" the whole series without blowing all their finances this time around.
-
They are remaking the series, into 4 movies called 'Rebuild of Evangelion'.
I think the first one is due out in September.
-
Yeah. I am looking forward to how they handle the re-make...
Anyway I am reading Gotham Central graphic novels from 2005. Great writing, great artwork. Fleshes out the GCPD wayyyyyy beyond what you see in the other Bat-books, which is pretty cool. I can understand why it was cancelled though... I mean, there's only so far you can go with a premise that is basically "is the Batman for us or against us???"
-
I just finished reading Countdown #42.
I think the series might be picking up a bit.
-
Watching-Kaze No Stigma, Hayate No Gotoku (spelling?), Lunar Legend Tsukihime
Reading-I was reading Train Man and Q-Ko-Chan, but Barnes&Nobles refuses to order vol.3 of both series.
-
Trying to watch Hellsing. However, finding the english dubs is damn annoying. All I can find is subs and I hate watching subs. I would much rather watch something in english. Even when I do try and watch a sub they all have horrible fonts in which I can't read clearly. Anyway, yeah, I watched the first episode and now I'm trying to find the second. I shall do so eventually.
Ah yes...and I am reading Fullmetal Alchemist. Currently waiting on Chapter 74. Tis sad because I've heard that it's only gonna have 80-odd chapters.
-
Watching: Love Hina.
I'm a n00b at this.
-
Reading: Nada
Watching: Romeo x juliet, Naruto, One piece occasionally, Death Note, Gurren Lagann and Lucky star. After done with Death note which I watched 1-15 in one day cause it's so damn good I'm gonna try bleach probably.
So far I haven't found a watched any bad anime lately off those I've picked out watching. Currently I am anticipating new episodes of Naruto, Romeo x juliet and Lucky star and I really hate waiting as i've watched all that is subbed of those series at this time, but I still got Gurren lagann and Death note to entertain me till new episodes come out :)
-
Warning: Death Note is about to get a lot worse. It picks up again after a little bit but it is still not nearly as good as the first 15 or so episodes.
Edit: I'm also watching GTO now and I'm going to start with Now and Then, Here and There after I finish with Death Note.
-
Bought some Robin comics from 2000/2001.
They are actually really good, the writing was better than usual and the art was damn cool and had CHARACTER. Also looking back on these old issues makes me even sadder that the Batman writers killed the Spoiler in War Games of whatever that arc was called.
-
watching: gay faggot shit
reading: likewise
oh wait no i'm not!!!
-
Suppose I should finally post in this!
Watching
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (Awesome mix between NHK and PaniPoni)
Kenko Zenra Kei Sueibu Umisho (Probably gonna drop)
Moetan (Pretty funny Mahou Shoujo Parody)
Code Geass (Final Episode any day now)
Hayate no Gotoku (Just plain fun, though less so lately)
Kaze no Stigma (Decent action series with good characters)
Lucky Star (Gets better every episode)
I think that's about it. Not much this season, though the last episodes of Code Geass should make up for that
-
Watching the 1500 Inmates dancing the Thriller and Sister Act, You tube loads so slow....
Reading: Comix's Story Beautiful: A Novel :3
-
Reading: My Balls.
-
I don't think i'll watch Naruto anymore since it just sucks so much right now.
Watching Bleach instead. It was a great show for the first 16-something eps when it was mostly characterization and imaginative fights that were hella interesting. Now i'm at the S2E04 though when they're in the Death God city and it's basically Naruto all over again. Hoping it gets better!
-
Reading: World War Hulk, or at least keeping up with it.
-
Watching: Gurren-Lagann, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
-

I am currently reading Battle Pope Vol. 2. It does not disappoint.

Currently reading Seimaden Volume 2
-
I've started watching Akagi, and I'm surprised to find I enjoy it.
Also I still need to finish Boogiepop Phantom. :/
-
I just got through reading The Mice Templar No. 1 and am eagerly awaiting No. 2 on October 10th.
I also ordered a load of cheap comics online and they arrived yesterday, mostly 3 series i've never heard of. The H.A.R.D. Corps, Rai and the Future Force, Magnus : Robot Fighter. Does anyone know anything about these 3 series?
Edit : I decided to edit with this anime even though I finished watching it like 3 weeks ago. Muteki Kanban Musume, its sort of a Slice of Life anime, with decent violent parts and some actual well written humor.
-
Watching Bubble Gum Crisis Ep.1
-
Just finished Negima volume 15, and I'm getting Death Note volumes 6 and 7 on Friday, along with Fullmetal Alchemist 14 and the Kingdom Hearts 2 manga (TokyoPop finally released it in the UK)

Mahoromatic, both the manga and anime. It's just so goddamn hilarious.
-
Watching: Baccano
Manga: There are too many to list(around 20?). Notable is the new Hunter X Hunter chapters since I jokingly said I was following it in an earlier post in this thread. It's still hard to believe new chapters are actually coming out.

abara, noise, blame!, biomega, and digimortal. All works by Tsutomu Nehei, am an avid fan, his art style is just simply amazing, and the archetecture in his comics, absolutely astounding!

congratulations on making the only post in eight pages that did not contain some combination of the words bleach, naruto, or deathnote.

Last time I checked this topic had 2 pages.
-
Currently watching old episodes of "Fun Moomin Family (Tanoshii Muumin Ikka)" via Nico Nico Douga... as well as whatever else I can find via that site.
Reading some issues of "Yotsuba to" and "Ge Ge Ge no Kitarou" in Japanese that I picked up.
Getting into Japanese language and culture studies in college has gotten me all nerdy into that kind of stuff lately.
-
College? I thought you'd be about 30 by now...
-
College? I thought you'd be about 30 by now...
college isn't just for young people! for example the average age of the cleveland state student is like THIRTY-TWO or something crazy so maybe he goes to one of those schools that somehow attract almost exclusively adults. or maybe he doesn't since i'm sure there're older people in some quantity at just about every college. going back to school, or getting a late start, isn't all that rare.
also holy shit it's abraxa
ALSO also that is what we in the biz refer to as an exaggeration.
-
congratulations on making the only post in eight pages that did not contain some combination of the words bleach, naruto, or deathnote.
lol, cool
Also watchmen was really rad. I tried the first volume of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen afterwards but didn't like it as much (was okay but nothing special really)
edit:
I'm watching GunXSword.
seriously that's a real anime?

gunxsword is a pretty excellent anime.
-
Yeah but
shit, the NAME man!
-
by the way
i also read watchmen and went on to look into other shit he did, and didn't especially care for it. but, i DID like from hell and while the redone swampthing shit steel told me about was pretty good it was still fairly COMIC BOOKish and while watchmen was too i guess it seemed like it was to a lesser extent, and probably satirical to begin with where swampthing seemed to be pretty sincere about it. so yeah check from hell out maybe. actually i do not know what you like but i tend to enjoy the stuff that is not too comic bookish, you know? and i don't just mean shit that has like UNDERLYING THEMES and symbolism and fucking social/political commentary either, really. just like, i will occasionally read some comic/graphic novel like watchmen or the sandman or tricked (i think these are good examples because none of them are anything like the other two) or something that will be pretty great and not like... overwhelmingly entrenched in the comic book scene/style to the point where i am like "man this couldn't be anything BUT a comic book could it."
-
Yeah, you seem to like what I liked about it so I'm gonna take that advice and find a copy of from hell. Oh wait, from hell is that jack the ripper story they made into a film (probably terrible like all those other conversions I've no idea), I'd be well up for reading that.
I totally know what you mean about some comics being too comic bookish even though said like that it sounds really dumb. Like I could have read the story of watchmen in novel form and I don't think it would have been that much less enjoyable but the same couldn't be said for the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, that would just be trash. It's not really because the story is any worse (although in that particular case I'd have to say it really is) but like you say it's a bit too bogged down BEING A COMIC BOOK that it's not as good as it could have been, I dunno.
-
Watching: Naruto Hurricane Chronicles, InuYasha, Those who hunt elves
Reading: Detective Conan/Case Closed, Naruto Shippuden, Death Note
Might read FMA as I've seen the anime and I've heard tell that it's quite different.
-

You should try "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller. Considered with good reason to be one of the greatest comics ever made.
Also, check out the trade paperbacks of 100 Bullets, Y: The Last Man, Preacher, and maybe Transmetropolitan. 'S all good...
-
I don't know if this necroposting, but I'm currently not watching animes. I prefer reading the mangas.
Mangas I've read:
666 Satan
Parasyte
Death Note
Alive!
Prince of Tennis[though ][/though]
Mangas I'm currently reading[Weekly]:
Eyeshield21
Naruto
Bleach
Full Metal Alchemist[Though ][/Though]
Claymore[Again ][/Again]
Beach Stars
Shin Angyo Onshii[though ][/though]
Double Arts
Doubt
Immortal Regis[This ][/This]
Phantom Wizard
I read them translated from Japanese on the internet. They usually come out about a day or two after the chapter is released in Japan.
-
Reading: Death Note, Fairy Tail, Claymore
Claymore is really good you should read it
Watching: nothing, I don't like watching anime cause the dub is really crappy
-
I'm currently following Code Geass R2 (as always), but on the side i've been watching through Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It's good, but a little more light hearted than I'd prefer. I finished watching episode 25 last night, and will probably finish the last two episodes later today.
-
As much as I'd like to be a squealing fanboy.... nothing. I am not watching or reading anything. I watched Persona for a while.... but that fell apart. I'd normally be watching shit like Bleach and Code Geass R2... but I am waiting for them to finish the season so I can catch them in a sitting like I normally do (Because they are too weak to hold my interest in a week to week basis). But yeah... although I have made no conscious decision to give up anime... I pretty much stopped.
-
likewise for me I guess, I'm always reading comics (just read Time Masters, which is kinda very ok) but I haven't watched animes since Jan/feb.
-
Watching: Naruto Shippuden, Code Geass R2, and Macross Frontier.
-
Watching: Bleach, Soul Eater, Utawarerumino (spelling?), Naruto Shippuden
Reading: Soul Eater, Fairy Tale, Ranma 1/2, One Piece, Dead Mans Wonderland, Gantz, Negima, Bleach, D. Greyman, InuYasha
Yeah, that's about it lately. I've caught up with Bleach, One Piece, FT, DMW, DGM. I am looking forward to the next Bleach movie though. ^.^
-
Watching: The Big O, Genesis of Aquarion, Mobile Suit Gundam 00
I'm in a mecha mood apparantly. Probably because I've been playing too much Super Robot Wars.
-

pretty much the same here. i do watch bleach still... but these fillers are getting pretty damn uninteresting. lets see i read Watchmen recently which was really good, and i'm probably going to start reading Sandman fairly soon, but i have essentially given up anime aside from bleach and hellsing ultimate (which come out too sporadically to say you're currently watching it)
-
I'm reading sandman at the moment, your time shall not be wasted.
In terms of watching, just old comfort food really: Macross Plus, Diebuster, FLCL, and odd episodes of Hajime no Ippo.
I'm still getting the new stuff as it comes but as of yet don't feel the desire to watch any of it. Even Geass, which i'm kind
of surprised about.
-
hey i just read all of walking dead up to this point but was very disappointed to find out that it wasn't finished and that now i have to wait for more issues!
also i read rising stars which was kind of EH honestly.
also also i wanna finish 20th century boys but i know this is going to involve STARTING OVER because i read the first 17 volumes like over two years ago
