HEY WHATS GOING ON I FORGOT EVERYTHING (too much *puff& 420/7))
We left the Office with a hunt for the Job at the Stanford branch. We find out that Ryan, the temp, got the job. This means Jim and Pam are still a possibility. Of course, fans such as myself are more interested in the Dwight-Angela relationship, which is just beginning to heat up after a season with such antics as Angela whoring herself out to Dwight in a hotel room, etc.
Here is the summary of the next episode which premieres TODAY (Sept. 27, 2007) at 9PM/8PM Central on NBCQuoteFun Run
THE RUN FOR THE CURE-SPECIAL ONE-HOUR PREMIERE - A freak accident causes Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) to feel the office is cursed. He explores the religious beliefs of his employees before deciding to hold a charity 5K fun run. Meanwhile, further developments in the romances of Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski), and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) and Angela (Angela Kinsey) are explored. B.J. Novak, Melora Hardin, Ed Helms, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Paul Lieberstein, Mindy Kaling, Craig Robinson and Creed Bratton also star.

DISCUSSION COMMENCE
whats this about ryan becoming a libertarian
I completely missed that
edit2: HOLY SHIT PB&JI laughed... SO HARD at this
the main problem i had with jim and pam in this was that they were just running around making snide comments for an hour. it got more than a little grating. the thing that has always saved them was that while they realised the people around them are ridiculous, they still treated them like people at the end. this time they were just a couple of smarmy pricks, running around congratulating themselves for being so wry and clever.
i think maybe the nature of the show is to get old after 23 or so minutes. like i think PARTS of this episode were pretty hilarious, but other parts just seemed kind of unnecessary. it felt like it didn't go through as extensive an editing process or something. aside from that i didn't really have much of a problem with it. it was mostly just SIMPLY OKAY. the whole meredith getting hit with a car thing was a great beginning, and him somehow finding a way to shift responsibility to rabies was also pretty funny. also angela's cat. but mostly i just thought a lot of it ended up being superfluous, and while that would've been fine if we'd seen better shit going on in some of the other peoples' parts of the story (like we barely saw anything from creed, or kelly, or stanley) that would've filled the time effectively, it just felt to me like instead of doing that, we got a pretty good starter episode mixed with 20+ more minutes of filler. for such a long episode, i was really hoping to see more of ryan and how big a douchebag he apparently is now, but he got like 60 seconds of airtime. i think it would've been great as a normal length episode.According to nbc.com this weeks episode is supposed to be pretty much entirely about him (coming back to the scranton office for a checkup)
Man the whole lake thing was so ridiculous I couldn't laugh. It's like just a bit TOO out thereman, i laughed a lot at that lake shit. mostly because my mom uses one of those things and it's pretty hilarious how much people come to rely on them to get anywhere at all. also i didn't really think the garbage thing was that funny aside from him sort of looking towards the trash can after she left like he was thinking about throwing it in there. what i really liked was the OH IS RYAN COMING IN TODAY...... .................. and uh, the scene where she did not see a problem with her lying about being pregnant.
overall good episode imo
Did anyone notice the subtle joke when Michael had the pictures up in the conference room and said that he had run out of ink so he couldn't print more and then the camera shows Creed with his black hair?haha I didnt notice that. Nice pickup.
Love it.
I liked it. The kidnapping thing was a bit much, but otherwise it was funny. There was some kinda subtle foreshadowing on Andy/Angela, I think, too....subtle?
yeah the kidnapping thing wasn't very good butAngela vs. Phyllis*
DWIGHT VS COMPUTER
ANGELA VS MEREDITH (google how to deal with people)
were excellent
Angela vs. Phyllis*oh wow, good catch (im dumb)
I think I heard both Daryl and Creed got bumped up to Regulars (or was it Featured?) this season, so it looks like we're going to be getting more of both of them, which is definitely a good thing. Dinkum flicka'.man Daryl and the squirrel
The slideshow thing was unnecessary, though. If you're talking about the "whomever" debate, that was the best part of the episode, I thought!
Ryan used me as an object.hehe yeah that whole conversation was awesome
hehe yeah that whole conversation was awesome
Ryan used me as an object. That whole conversation reminded me of Seasons 1 & 2. I miss that.
i keep feeling really bad for michael this season. his life SUCKS right about now pretty much. i don't like feeling this bad for him, i just want them to make him do his goofy antics and stop making him keep screwing up constantly. this could all be because ryan is such a jerk now though. The thing is that sympathizing with him is one of the biggest things that make Michael different from the boss on the UK version. It's really impressive that they can make you feel bad for a guy that is so completely obnoxious and who, in our real lives, most of us would never associate with by choice.
i didn't really understand how jan didn't know that he was broke because she is spending ridiculous amounts of money (or is that still mostly him?). it seemed kind of odd.Yeah, I got the impression after his little finances talk with Oscar that Michael was really the one spending most of his money, even though he blamed Jan. Jan might be a control freak, but she knows how much money Michael makes (she gave him his last raise!), and she's not stupid.

It's really impressive that they can make you feel bad for a guy that is so completely obnoxious and who, in our real lives, most of us would never associate with by choice.Yeah. In Season 2, The Halloween episode, the VERY end. That's so sad. And same with Take Your Daughter To Work Day. It's sad. But, I agree with Shadowtext. It's remarkable how they can do that.
I only caught the last part of that (the two commercials) and yeah, Michael's commercial was really good! It's a little too long to be opening credits, I think, but otherwise it would be a great idea.it was pretty excellent overall really. Pretty much like everyone predicted.. that they'd hit their stride when they went back to 30 minute format, and they certainly did.
How was the rest of the episode?
karen is fucking nuts.Yes.
karen is fucking nuts.
seemed like a normal reaction.I know what he did was terrible and shit but her reaction was really over the top. He was an idiot for bringing up pam, too.
keep in mind, if you kept up over the summer, she was just dumped by the fountain and he DIDN'T COME BACK pretty much.
I liked this ep. it was really surreal but unlike other surreal moments like the kidnapping two eps ago, it worked for me.
THIS IS THE GAYEST THING I DO.
also his desire wasn't to become a better person. it was just to prove that a man surviving alone in the woods is better than a camping trip with a bunch of boys because he was jealous of toby. michael is not deep enough to think about becoming a better person."When I return, I hope to be a completely changed human being."
so uh.... I guess no one watched The Office last week.i didn't think it was dumb. i mean, a lot of their premises are pretty dumb if you just take a step back and look at them, but i like how it served to focus on how jim did in michael's shoes and, later on, helped to draw a parallel between he and michael, which was pretty ridiculous! you could actively seen this normalization where michael became a bit more like a normal person and jim's humor got a bit dumber, and at the end they were startlingly similar.
It was an above average episode, if not simply for Michael's sudden desire to become a better person by getting lost in the Pennsylvania wilderness.
Creed was hilarious with his insistance for Peach cobbler, although the whole Office Birthday Party subplot was pretty dumb, imo.
Michael's ability to get many uses out of his pants and Dwight's reactions were awesome.
edit: DON'T READ THE POSTS BELOW MINE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE CHEESY DORITOS IS GAY AND DIDN'T PUT SPOILER TAGSThank you.
That's... not what I did? What are you talking about? Yeah, it was an important part of the episode, but it was (holy shit oh my god) AFTER THE EPISODE AIRED. Why SHOULDN'T I be able to talk about it?! It's not my fault if someone taped the episode but hadn't watched it yet, but then proceeded into the thread about it. Why shouldn't I say what I liked or didn't like about the episode, even five minutes? Why the hell should that matter? I don't know if you're just being an weirdo or you went into the topic before watching the episode, or something, but the point is you shouldn't go into the topic after the episode aired and NOT EXPECT 'spoilers'. Hell, I posted it a HALF HOUR after the episode aired, buddy.yeah except for the part where about half the people who even use this site torrent/download the episodes. stop trying to make excuses for dickish behavior and just use the goddamn spoilers, for christ's sake. is it really that big a deal to you that you you need to fight for your right to not be considerate of other people?
To make this post more relevant (sorry about the rant but DEFEND MY HONOR and all that), I actually was rooting for Pam to kick Kelly's ass in ping-pong. This way was great, too, though. I really loved the part with Dwight and Jim playing, and then them talking about Darryl being the client. Also the cold-open was pretty funny, with Ryan and all.
I love compromises:You know what's really sad... I already have one with basically his avatar on it from like grade 5 that I keep in a box with all of my
Let's make this a Win-Win-Win
Cheesy Doritos: Don't post potentially-season-relevant details about an episode a) until the next day or b) unless you use spoilers (hint: Option B is easier). Of course, you are free to share non-vital non-season-relavant information (such as jokes, quotes, opinions, predictions, etc) that won't make someone go ARGHHHH THAT IS SOMETHING I WANTED TO FIND OUT FOR MYSELF
Myke: You must make a T-shirt with Cheesy Doritos' avatar on it, and walk around in it
ASE: Stop being so gooddamn good at compromises
