Title: XBox 360 Hardware Problem
Post by: Zeitgeist on October 07, 2007, 11:35:46 pm
Three red lights. I know it's common. Question is, is there any conventional way to fix it without having to spend $20-$30+ on shipping one way to have Microsoft fix it?

yes the "red light error" is the most common type of xbox360 error, here are the 10000 different causes and how to fix each and every one of them. you don't know which one it is so i guess just pick one at random or something

A short term fix for the Red Ring. Basically you wrap a towel around it while it's on for 15 minutes, then turn it off and let it cool for 15 minutes. Try it at your own risk, but I would just send it in to Microsoft.

Just send it in, Microsoft pays for all shipping, and when I sent mine in it came back with a free month of Xbox live.

whether it works or not doesn't matter, you're intentionally overheating your xbox which has a high chance of doing even more damage to it

its the equivalent of hitting your tv to make it work except instead of hitting it youre throwing it down the stairs
