Title: Face Of GW

So I've been interested in various projects that involve creating a non-existent person by blending together people's faces, creating a sort of "child". Well, I have a program to do it, and I was thinking we should get together and make a Face of GW. I'll be collecting photos of everyone and then pairing them, creating mixtures of each, and working through all the pairings until we have a conglomeration of all the submitters. There are limitations of course, not everyone will have a camera or have the capacity to post their picture, nor will everyone feel comfortable posting their photo. So we won't have a "true" face of gw, but we can acknowledge these limitations and do the best we can.

I've uploaded a template so that it would make it easier for me to match all the faces. Try to keep plenty of padding around your face and send the photo in a fairly high resolution, maybe a little bit smaller than the raw image that most camera give out.
Requirements:
- You must be looking straight ahead
- No glasses
- No hair in front of your face (bangs and whatnot)
- Don't slouch
- Its important to be facing straight so that both ears are in view (or should be in view, ie hair hiding them or whatnot)

Please be aware of lighting conditions and try to get a picture of yourself against a white or a solid wall. You may post the picture here or pm the picture to me. I'm hoping to hit 20 pictures and so I'll keep submissions open for awhile. For lighting, it should be taken either outdoors but without direct sunlight (under an awning or something) or indoors with the best ambient lighting you can get. I can color correct most pictures but I can't control big glaring spots on your forehead, but do the best you can do.

okay here it is I didn't take a shower so I got bed hair still or really do anything (working off a hangover) so I dont look good at all but I figure you want RAW FACE.

Just to give everyone an idea of how the proportions should work, I've formatted dangerousned's picture to the template. This should give a good idea of how large your face should be in proportion to everything else. I don't need hyper-close ups and as long as the picture is sent fairly high-rez I can crop it down, which easier than having to pull out things that don't exist. Also, since I sometimes forget that not everyone has photoshop. I can crop and size your images for you, so don't worry about the template so much that you should remember to have some padding around your face.

@dangerousned: Your picture is fine since the project doesn't really care for whats outside of the face, one or two undercropped images are fine.

also shit my eyes are TILTED slightly because my head is off should I retake or will it matter.

edit: actually you can just rotate it to match if that's an issue I guess.

No, its great you left it at a higher resolution, gives me more elbow room. The tilting isn't an issue since it'll smooth out during the process.

I was practicing for the face and I think I've gotten some good thoughts for the final. I've tried it with four faces and it surprisingly looks like Cray. I've also updated the first post with some photo requirements that I thought would be helpful after testing.

Also, a list of faces I've accepted (the other picture's qualities make them unusable, sorry webcam people :<):

fyi blindmind totally posted the picture of me hungover like twenty times as if it was some insult and then when he posted his picture after being goaded into it, it was of some really slim girl man with his face buried in the pillow as if he had been crying so I think you can count him out medieve.

Also, Kamina, your face isn't perfectly facing straight, but I managed to pull a trick and "rotated" your face so your other ear is showing.

I cannot take Deslan's or PTizzle's picture. You cannot have hair in front of your face and it must be as straight as possible. I have added pasty to the project. I now have five pictures not including myself and my sister.

With ATARI I now have 16 faces, with myself and my sister, we get 18. Suddenly the slots have gotten much more precious! I'm only taking two more faces! I should also mention that a few of the faces I already have are some that weren't submitted for this project, I just judged them suitable. Therefore, if I get extra faces submitted I can go back and retroactively replace the ones that I didn't get by submission.

I can try to get a better picture if you want. It's just I had to take like 10 because I can't see if I'm holding it straight while taking the picture.

I thought the original was too large, so that was actually a 75% reduction of it.

Okay, either I have to cut out some faces or we go to 32.... OPINS!?!
And going through the pictures we have currently, there are actually 7 pictures I'd like to axe due to quality. So If we need to get down to 16, its not a problem with me besides hard feelings of being cut out.

Well, seeing how I haven't gotten any responses in awhile, theres little chance we'll hit the higher face requirement so I'm going to have to cut several faces based on quality of the images. I have 21 images that I need to reduce to 16. There are actually eight faces I'd like to get rid of due to issues of image quality, lighting quality, and other criteria such as if the hair is covering the forehead.
