Yeah, I figure now is as good a time as any. There's a few reasons behind this. For one, I've been here a while, active or no, and community has just gotten really slow and stale. It just isn't as fast and interesting as it used to be, and the almost eternal delay of GW6 has majorly dampened my spirits of any sort of revival. Second, and the most important and prominently, college is killing me. Being Pre-Med is hard as shit, and my classes have really turned on the crunch time. Hell, I'm taking a break from an all nighter right now. I'm not saying that I have no time whatsoever, but the time I do have, I need to spend it doing more productive things, I'm really behind right now. Not to mention that there's some crazy events going on in my personal life I have to give attention, mental and emotional energy to. Thirdly, I know I'm really unpopular here and as many members will tell you, 'everyone hates me'. I'm an idiot, I'm a terrible poster (which until recently, I'll admit to that), and I'm just an outright dick. Now, I know that seems like a really whinish reason to leave, but spending your time on a forum (especially considering the other two points in mind) when everyone hates you is a pretty unpleasurable experience.
It's easy enough to just change for the better, but as of late (and once again, considering the two original points) it just hasn't happened that way. With college and a slew of other personal issues to deal with, I just can't divert my attention in that direction as of late. So considering all this, I think it's about that time to hit the road. Maybe in another time, another place, when the community picks up, when my workload in college, and in life has significantly lightened, and when I can be a better member and poster here in GW, I'll stop by. But seeing as these things as it stands can't or won't happen in the foreseeable future, I'm doing what I feel is the best choice.
There were a lot of cool guys I met and seen here, and I'm not good with the shout out thing, so I'll save everyone the trouble. And as some of you guys already know, if you want to catch me on AIM, its Perpetual Moogle. I'm usually online.

Just wanted to swing by for a sec.
Just to rectify, the main reason for my departure isn't mainly because of time constraints or how people think about me (because the first can be worked around, and the second I don't care all that much on, ya'll haters can suck on mah ballz), its mainly because the community is sucking right now. I know GW has its ups and downs, and its activity waxes and wanes, but I've been visiting GW for years, and this is the lowest I've seen it, ever. Even though there's activity here, its bland, lifeless and souless, and the forums might as well be the casting call for Equilibrium. Which sucks because GW has some of the most talented people I've ever seen. So what the hell are you all doing?
I want to see film exhibitions, art contests, some RPing, hell, even some interesting discussion in the General forum besides retarded news articles (YOUNG BOY GETS EATEN BY DOG) The individual members are great, but the way the current community is sliding right now sucks. Hopefully GW6 will remedy this somewhat even though its taking forever, and right now it seems like a myth, just like the Easter Bunny and Asians with phat asses. Normally, I'd stay and try to contribute to the community instead of being all talk like I was before, but with the combination of my issues I mentioned before, all of it combined is just enough for me to take a break from GW. I know its been said before, but GW is slowly, but surely dying. The question is, what is everyone going to do about it? It may seem hypocritical for me to be saying all this considering I'm leaving, but that doesn't make it any less true. Hey, its likely I'll come back around once my workload in life and college subsides, but GW has to get itself together for anything to be happening for anyone anywhere.
I'll be honest, I don't know exactly what it will take to get the community back up strong (barring GW6), but if any of you guys know, make a collective effort to do something about it. GW is one of the best place there is on the Internet. Don't let it fizzle out like this.

I didn't say that GW was completely devoid of anything interesting, but even among the interesting community talent events that do go on, there's a marked lack of participation and frequency of such topics.

Uh dude, he's pretty spot on. The site isn't nearly as active as it used to be.

I'm not disagreeing, but he lists all these things that aren't supposedly happening ("film exhibitions, art contests, some RPing, hell, even some interesting discussion in the General forum") yet we have/had a film competition and people showing there work, we currently have an artist competition going on, and new things like albums and individual songs are constantly being posted. there also people constantly making RPs that no one partakes in.
The problem isn't something to talk about, the problem is no one talking about it. And leaving doesn't solve this. Maybe a new mainsite will encourage people to talk again, but the real problem is members saying 'whatever' to the current stuff. And then blaming it on leafo or the admins. So yeah, if MOG really wanted to help the site he'd post in one of the dozens of topics with 1 or 2 posts asking for crits (you don't have to be an expert). He'd take the time to talk say something about the art competition in the discussion thread.

no he's right, GW is way more bland then it was... probably about a year ago? the JK saga seems to be around where things kind of started to DROP OFF in terms of GW fun. (i also include ruhan or whatever that crazy christian kid was in this period. around there)

Um, not leaving isn't going to solve things either. He is obviously tired of the site and forcing himself to criticise games or whatever it is you're talking about isn't going to do anything but give him a headache. People are just tired of doing the same shit over and over with the same people.
