Title: Who's a Skrull?
Post by: thecatamites on October 28, 2007, 05:57:26 pm
Anyone reading Marvel comics might know that there's another new event coming called the Skrull Invasion, where undetectable shape-changing alien Skrull things masquerade as superheroes!
Vote for the three people you think are most likely to be skrulls!

Well Iron Man's definitely a Skrull....in fact, I'll bet all of the Illuminati are skrulls. Iron Man, Reed Richards, Professor X, Dr. Strange, Gorilla Grodd...

No, I'm sort of joking, and I haven't really followed Dr. Strange very well, but Iron Man, Reed, and Chuck have all been in sort of uncharacteristically bad favor lately. I'll bet they're Skrulls.

I don't know about Chuck, though. With the whole Messiah Complex thing going on, making him a Skrull might distract too much from that.

I think in a huge twist, it's going to turn out that Xavin from Runaways is a skrull.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that the baby is the new Iron Fist, since she's named after him and did the glowy-eye-thing at about the same time as he lost his powers...
Also, Iron Man is probably too obvious a choice for a skrull... Mr. Fantastic is definitely a skrull, though, which is why he's been acting weird and why he's temporarily off the fantastic four...

Only three options? What? Everyone in the marvel universe is a Skrull.

Im getting an odd feeling it's going to be spiderman, why? Because after all that confusion during the clones arc, there's a high chance spidey as we know now comic wise is a skrull.

guys, they had Strange cast a spell trying to find the Skrull already. unless they are planning to make him a Skrull, especially after such a successful mini and finally giving him a girlfriend AND putting him in this WWH thing, it's a bad call.

I still say it's clearly the baby! that was the only one not in Strange's spell and they made it clear!

I got FUCKING PISSED when Elektra was a skrull. Is this the one one who appeared in Daredevil V2 right after he escaped from prison? Is this the one one who hung out with Frank Castle? When was Elektra replaced with a skrull?

I'm not entirely sure about Iron Man being a skrull. It seems there hasn't been anything overly suspicious with his behavior and abuse of power. Plus he's gotten really depressed and taken drinks and shit.

Hawkeye I definately don't think so. New Avengers #26 seemed to be a personal journey only the REAL Clint Barton would undertake.

Wolverine already had a whole Skrull thing a few years back, I doubt he'd be going through that trouble again. Then again, there are multiple incarnations of Wolverine walking around the Marvel universe. Plus he was beat up by Spider-Woman, whom we all suspect to be guilty.

Mr. Fantastic is definitely possible. His character has been entirely faggotried up so...

Jessica Jones and her baby are probably on the hot list. I really don't want the baby to be an alien though

Normally I don't think about the industry when discussing comics, but having Spider-Man be a skull would really look bad. It'd me a NO MORE MUTANTS all over again. Also, why is Echo not on the list?

EDIT:
Oh shit dangerousned is right. I completely forgot about that. If Doctor Strange is not a Skrull, that means everyone on the team is on the go-list. Otherwise it's more shit.

also it's not likely they'd do that to Iron Man because what a fucking cop out.

it's probably Echo/Ronin or the baby, and until I get some evidence on the baby being a new Iron Fist (not likely at all!), I think I'm right!

Iron Man's rep has been ruined with Civil War and the New Avengers. I haven't been following too closely, but it'd be a little easy to blame his behavior on Skrulls.

Yeah, I don't think that the fact it's a cop out (which I'm not disagreeing with) in anyway means that Marvel won't do it.

The latest issue of New Avengers Illuminati talks more about the Skrull issue.

Apparently is/was/whatever a skrull.

It's possible that Doctor Strange's magic might not work even if he's not a skrull. After all, neither Spider Man, Iron Man, Wolverine or Professor Xavier could tell...
The only person I'm positive isn't a skrull is Luke Cage, just because Bendis has such a massive hard-on for him. Everyone else is fair game...
Still, even though there've been such incredibly cheap moments in Marvel over the years (the Clone Saga, the end of Civil War, their complete and total inability to kill off a character and have him or her STAY FUCKING DEAD), I still don't think they'd make Iron Man a skrull. He'll probably end up defeating all the skrulls almost singlehandedly, then dying, because that's pretty much the only way they can make him seem heroic again. And then they can bring him back to life in time for the movie...
