Click (http://wii.nintendo.com/site/battalionwars2/)
I just bought a Wii off of eBay, and as soon as it comes in, this is one of the first games I'm going to buy. Has anyone gotten it yet? If so, good, bad?

i would be a lot more willing to watch wii adverts if they didnt cut to SHOT OF OLD PERSON ON COUCH WATCHING HIS GRANDSON PLAY IT every 5 seconds
what i did see of it looked pretty blech though, is it just some mission based 3rd person shooter thing with tanks and planes?

It's a hybrid third-person-shooter/real-time-strategy game where you can give commands and take control of individual units.

Oh shit. I didn't even know this was out yet. I really want to get it.
The nearby Hollywood video was going out of business a few days ago and everything was 80% off. I managed to snag a copy of Battalion Wars for the GC and it's a pretty fun game. I heard the sequel is supposed to be much better and have Wi-Fi play. I'd go out any buy it right now but I think I may hold off until after SMG comes out.
If this game is anything like the first though, it's definitely worth getting.

Oh god.
Battalion Wars is like Battlefield 2 except single player (well... now wifi I guess). It's really cool, I really enjoyed the first. I bought it cheap a few months ago but never really got around to getting into it (been so busy with other stuff).

Online multiplayer with no headsets. Nice one, Nintendo! Now I can't groom those under-aged boys.

Yeah, Nintendo sucks with online. They're trying too hard to be a family-friendly system and it's really holding them back in the online aspect. I'm sure they'll come around eventually. They're going to have to once they get enough complaints.
