Title: Fraps with FF7 help
Post by: Nokoi on November 19, 2007, 10:44:22 pm
I don't know if this topic goes here or in hardware & software so...I dunno...

I'm trying to record Final Fantasy VII PC with fraps, and I set the options to:
Record button: Backspace
Half-size
Record Sound
Use Windows input (I also tried Detect best sound input)
FPS: 100
Sound Input: C-Media Wave device
Audio Input: Stereo Mix

I go and record...and I watch the video after I am done, with perfect screen recording, and then...NO FRICKIN SOUND IN THE VIDEO!!! I set it to record the sound but all i get for sound is: ...
Can someone help me fix this?

First of all, that fps is WAY too high, try 30 instead. Also, set sound input to "What U Hear".

Or, depending on what version you have, select the appropriate devices for input/ output.

How do I make it "What U Hear" anyway? I don't see a way to fix it.

Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices

Also the same place you'd normally control PC volume.

Go into volume control for Microphone (or if you're in speaker volume click options and select properties and change to RECORDING) and select the input for your soundcard (input meaning what you would record).

On most XP computers, there should be a box saying WHAT U HEAR. It might also be called something else but I can't remember (my old computer what another name).

If it's not there you can also go into properties and see if there's a WHAT U HEAR box that's unchecked (only the checked boxes will appear).
