An artysy/experimental short shot and edited in 3 hours. Inspired by the work of Andy Warhol.

Basically one day I was sitting down eating an orange and I thought of one of Warhol's work. I had a bit of trouble deciding whether or not to do this in fear of ripping him off or something. I feel like I copied him but I REALLY WANTED TO DO IT.

Whatever, I made it. I got some very nice shots in many of areas, but I had allot of trouble putting it together. Overall, I'm satisfied with my unscripted/unplanned/natural performance but I'm very angry at myself for the quality of this short.

Also the ending was unintentional, but I loved it.

Enjoy.

I really enjoyed the opening. You nailed that opening credit sequence pretty well but after that it went down hill. We just sit and deadpan watch you eat an orange (REALLY LOUDLY) for how many minutes with this frustrating intermittent beep?

(Also your cushion is very gay.)

I watched this in college with another film 'chum'. The opening was great, but eating an orange? How pretentious can you get. Also eating it REALLY LOUDLY.

It was damn neat up until you started eating an orange. Blah. Skipped pretty much the entire orange eating shit.

This might have been fairly decent if you hadn't overacted so much on the eating of the orange. It also takes a bit too long to eat. 3 minutes? I tend to use a knife so I suppose that makes it go a bit faster, but who in their right mind would eat an orange if it took 3 minutes to eat it?

But yeah, the acting definitely ruined this one.

i have never thought that i would be able to watch an asian man eat an orange with such passio....this really gives some insight into your soul as an asian-american and touches on some of the prevalent issues of racism in our modern society. As you peel off the skin of the orange, the amount of force as you use your bare hands...it seems to mirror the way in with the film forcefully pulls away the layers that hide the dreaful amount of racism against asian-americans in our nation. commonly racism is considered to be a black/white issue, but you're able to really shine some light on something much deeper and complex.

I applaud you, Ryan Jenq. I applaud you and your film.

Well, the thing is I didn't overreact at all. That is how I normally eat a tangerine. It took 3 minutes because it was REALLY BIG. Maybe it's loud due to audio levels or my microphone. :/

It's the stupid telephone.

Thank you Jordan.

The introduction was simply an attempt to make the viewer think they were watching some highly sophisticated artsy/emo/intelligent film when in reality it is a touching story of an Asian-American eating a tangerine. Basically the intro was just a bunch of bullshit and random shots.

Also, it's boring if you don't watch closely the hand movements, chumps, the facial expressions THE TECHNIQUE of myself while I consume the orange. Maybe the low quality resolution on YouTube derived from the central focus of the art?

If this keeps up this will become a highly controversial classic. It's like the first/last 20 minutes of 2001.

Those who skipped me eating missed out on me tripping over a light wire at the end.

Thanks guys.
