Title: My external drive was always (D:). Now it is (G:). How the hell do I fix that?

This sums it up beautifully. I plugged my iPod in earlier today to charge it, and it decided that it would be fucking hilarious to pop up as the D: drive, which is normally my external hard drive - which I turn off at night. I hadn't turned it on.

When I turned it on, I knew it obviously would not be the D: drive. It decided that it would be equally funny to show up as the G: drive. Now, here is what is pissing me off. All my music is on the external, and my iPod library reads FROM my external as D:, so... I can't listen to my music in iTunes, my media player of choice.

I've unplugged the iPod, rebooted, turned the external on and off.. It refuses to change back to D:.

I vaguely remember some sort of "change volume of selected drive" option somewhere, but I haven't the faintest idea where I saw it. Maybe it was on my shitty laptop which has Vista, I don't know. Anyway...

I don't know if you can do it by default but I know for sure that there is software that lets you remap it to your preference. Just look for one of those.

Edit: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Change Drive Letter and Paths -> ???? -> Profit!
