Alright, so I just bought an R4DS and the only game I've put on it so far is Elite Beat Agents which has been pretty good so far. What are some other good DS games for me to download???
-
I think you mean buy.
-
all of the phoenix wright games
-
All the Castlevania games.
Zelda Phantom Hourglass.
Contra 4.
Final Fantasy 12 Revenant Wings.
Final Fantasy 3.
Mario Kart DS.
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time.
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.
New Super Mario Bros.
R4DS is great. :woop:
-
poketmon lolz
-
I gotta get myself one of those R4's I've been putting it off for months :(
-
Magical Starsign was pretty fun. Same with Lunar Knights.
And Digimon World: Dawn is incredibly addictive.
-
i would suggest pokemon since it is the best game that is currently out there (for any console/handheld) but you should probably buy it to support the great company
-
there is no fucking way pokemon is the best game on any console, you're a wrong'un.
-
I got a good list of titles that are too inconvenient to buy/have on their own cart, but are good if you are getting them free and have access to them all from the same cart.
Chessmaster: Art of Learning (If you like Chess)
Geometry Wars: Galaxies
Worms Open Warfare 2 (This and Mario Kart are great if you are bored at a wi-fi hotspot)
Ultimate Mortal Kombat (If you like the original Mortal Kombat games)
Brain Age 2/Any other "self enrichment" genre DS title.
Electroplankton (If I want to show off my DS and have no idea what the person likes to play, I always boot this game up)
Oh yeah, and a homebrew suggestion. There are a lot of painting apps in the homebrew scene, but my favorite is Colors. It's easy, intuitive, and automatically outputs in a computer ready image format. Even if you don't draw, but occasionally screw around in MSPaint if you are bored enough, I'd suggest this.
Oh, and Neophyte, you got Revenant Wings working on R4? If so, could you hook me up because I simply can't! (and it's pissing me off because I know I'll just play it for a week and get bored, I just need to get that over with already!)

You should actually do the opposite of this post. Pokemon is and always has been as shitty RPG.
Anyways is what I do to decide games, is I look down the list, and download every game that sounds interesting, or looks interesting or that might be fun. And I just put the ones I want to try the most on there. Most of them end up sucking hard, delete those, and put a few more up. Eventually you get a solid list of games.
Although I'd probably recomend anything in Neophyte's post, WarioWare, Megaman ZX, Kirby Squeek Squad (short but fun), Mario Party... hmm.. Not sure what else I'd recomend for now.
And EvilDemon, just update you firmware. If a game doesn't work that usually fixes it.
-
I've been keeping track of the recent firmware, and checking my rom each time I update (I already updated some time last week if I recall). Which is why when Neophyte brought up Revenant Wings it suprised me. Maybe I just need to check more often.
-
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is really good, I have the psp version and it's the only game I've been playing recently.
-

It works perfectly on mine. Maybe you just downloaded a bad copy.
-
Yeah, ff12:rw works fine on my r4 too.
Bleach DS: Blade of Fate is one of the best fighting games for the ds imo...it is similar to Marvel vs Capcom for psx. I just hate how you can press buttons to perform the moves.
-
OH! I'd recommend Bleach DS 2nd (if you're willing to make it through the story in Japanese), it has more and better characters then the first. But otherwise Bleach DS Blade of Fate is good I would assume.
Also Jump Ultimate Stars is a Smash Bros type game with a whole bunch of anime series instead, you form decks that have your characters and summons and you swap out. Only fun if you download a save file with everything unlocked and play online or with friends, but it is very fun imo.

A random video to see if it's your thing.

Oh yeah I was going to recommend phantom hourglass before I had to call the despain a wrong'un and forgot. Take that advice with a pinch of salt though because I'm a bit of a zelda fag (try it anyway since you're just pirating games)
Think I better get me one of these R4DS suckas
-
Bomberman Land: Touch!
Drawn to Life
Tetris DS
Pokemon D/P
Any Phoenix Wright Game (All!!!)
Mariokart DS
Warioware: Touched
New Super Mario Bros.
They're pretty much all of the games that I've enjoyed playing over the times.

Be sure to do some research before pirating Phantom Hourglass because there's a point in the game where you have to reset the DS and only certain cards can work around it.
-
I haven't got to that part yet how about you fuckin use some spoiler tages next time
JERK
-
My mistake, you have to close the DS to copy the map or something and some emulators crash when you shut the DS.
srry for spoilings non story segment.
p.s. sheik is zelda
-
just joking man. Also I have done that bit and I swear to god it took me like 20 minutes to figure out I was supposed to close the DS and that's only a slight exaggeration
it's one of those faggotty little gimmicks in the game like having to blow into the mic every few minutes that just make me giggle like a school girl with glee because I didn't know that shit was in the game and it charmed the hell out of me

Man I felt this way when I played Hotel Dusk. I don't remember what you had to close the DS for, but I was just sitting there staring at the screen for a while, tapping it occasionally. My favorite part was where you had to tilt the DS just right to read something.

The moment you described was When you had to give Mila CPR. Because of the hints given, I kept on ALMOST closing my DS and blow in the mike XD
Also, my favorite part was when you had to use both the stylus and the index finger of the other hand to trigger a switch.
And the connect the dots. Those two were priceless.

Geometry Wars; Galaxies
Brainage
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
New Super Mario Bros.
Bleach Blade of Fate
Drawn to Life
Flash Focus
Mario Party DS
LEGO Star Wars the Complete Collection
Final Fantasy III
Zelda; Phantom Hourglass
atleast, these are the games i liked on the ds. most of them get boring after a while. I'm still looking for a game that will have my attention for more than a week.

-
As far as fighters go, I'll recommend Bleach DS or DS 2nd. Jump Ultimate Stars is fun at first, but I found that there are many... "cheap" things in the game that will frustrate pretty much anyone. But if you don't care about any of that, then definitely get it. It can still be a blast having Goku VS Naruto VS Ichigo VS Luffy battles. Both Bleach and JUS have Wi-Fi as well.
-
I have bought a lot of DS games but the only three I've really liked were Dragon Quest Monsters, Castlevania Portrait of Ruin (I actually did not like Dawn of Sorrow but I don't think I gave it a fair shot and it is probably the better game), and Final Fantasy 3 (although this game will bore you to tears before you'll ever beat it, it's still good for several dozen hours of fun). But I'm an enormous japfag that loves to make his numbers go up and for some reason I don't like cutesy Nintendo games regardless of the fact that they are brilliant, so my advice is actually really shitty.
-
LOST MAGIC! why hasn't anyone suggested it?
also,
Jump: Ultimate stars
Dragon Quest Monsters : Joker
Advanced wars: Duel strike
Mario kart
New Super mario bros
-
I'm surprised how many people are mentioning Bleach or Bleach DS 2nd! I was going to come in here and suggest one or both of them, but thought I would be a little out of place! They are fantastic fun, get them now.
-
IF you like dbz, I suggest dbz supersonic warriors 2. The story mode is fucked up, but the fighting system itself is pretty good.
-
I'd definitely recommend both Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory since you aren't buying them, because although they're worth the money if you find them at a good price, there's virtually no replay value.
-
I second Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory.
-
I second the Castlevania games (as usual :\).
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin (I actually did not like Dawn of Sorrow but I don't think I gave it a fair shot and it is probably the better game)
Yes Dawn of Sorrow is, in many ways, the better game. It's just that, Portrait of Ruin had so much potential for being much better than Dawn of Sorrow, but they just didn't use that potential to it's full extent. For example, a lot of the level designs lacked. They just felt like they were shoved in only to make the game larger. They could've been more creative with the stages themselves, like at least give the Egypt stage a bit of a heat effect (like the ones in Sonic & Knuckles) or make the London (or London-esque) stages more than just a bakery and butchery with an occasional chapel. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying Portrait of Ruin is bad, I still love it a lot, but in comparison to Dawn of Sorrow it lacks somewhat.
-
Portrait of Ruin was less Castlemetroid and more CASTLEVANIA X which put off a lot of people... hence why I enjoyed it more. It was still pretty Castlemetroid but it was much more linear and I enjoyed it because of that.
