Title: National Treasure; Book of Secrets
Post by: Brown on January 06, 2008, 07:11:07 am
Its shocking there isn't a topic on this movie (well i only checked the first 2 pages to be honest). But yeah I went and watched it today. Surprisingly it was REALLY good imo. I loved it from the beginning to the end. It did have its stupid moments such as

The movie didn't really feel much like a sequel per say, more like a different adventure with the same setting and characters. It did however

I didn't really like the antagonist in this movie. Don't get me wrong, Ed Harris (Enemy at the gates, The Rock, truman show, A beautiful mind, Apollo 13 etc) is a great actor and he is an awesome villian, but the character in this movie he played didn't appeal to me much. It was kinda sad

What I didn't like a lot was the fact that they were able to infiltrate all these high security places so easily. I mean when there was like....no security whatsoever. its as if there were no cameras in the building.

All in all, I liked this movie. It was fast paced and didn't get boring much.

ALSO This was filled with satire and i loved it

so has anyone else seen it? howd you like it?

The Man From Earth was probably the worst film from 2007 I saw.

This was the second worst.

God I wanted to make a 9/11 topic about this, because it was so unintentionally hilarious. I am amazed how you ignored all the terrible parts though. remember how he scubadived past the combined forces of the Secret Service and FBI and snuck in by claiming he was trying to fuck a brunette in the bushes welp time to get back to the party? I've met nightclub bouncers that wouldn't fall for that shit, how did the Secret Service?

The scene leading up to it was good too: they are all talking, and then Nick Cage looks up and says, "I'm going to kidnap the President". The theater was silent and then you could hear me going "aaaaaaaaaaahahahahahha" because oh my god.

And then the President wanting to explore his house with some fuckabee who could have doodled something on a parchment and stopping his Secret Service from entering the same room as him and a stranger about to explore an unknown part of the house no one without the key can get through.

Such a bad movie, even when compared to the lackluster original.

The bad guy was fucking retarded.

"HEY I'M GOING TO NEED YOUR HELP BEN GATES. SO TO DO THAT I'LL SOIL YOUR ANCESTOR'S NAME. AND THEN I'LL MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO FIGURE OUT THESE EXTREMELY CRYPTIC CLUES THAT LEAD TO THE LOST CITY OF GOLD. ON TOP OF THAT, I'LL THREATEN YOUR LIFE ABOUT 3034802938 TIMES FOR NO REASON! THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I'LL GET YOUR HELP!"

Seriously, he could just ask him. Dumbass.

Also, I don't get how "HMMM FINDING THE LOST CITY OF GOLD WILL CLEAR THOMAS GATE'S NAME." Just because it exists, it doesn't deny the fact that Thomas Gates's name was on the sheet? The plot line is retarded.

I never saw the first movie, but my friend made me watch this one. It sucked. Balls.

Steel summed up my thoughts. I enjoyed it, but thought it was far, far over the top, moreso than the first.

I went into the movie knowing what to expect so it was really easy to ignore the really stupid parts, because I knew they would be in the movie either way.  haha yeah the scubadive part was so bad. but you gotta admit it was pretty funny what the soldier said to his dad.

uh...it was unexpected and really bizarre since the last time I even thought about Goofy was when I was 5 and then I had a creepy "GOOFY: NEXT GEN" vibe so I didn't like it much because it scared the shit out of me.

I liked it. After watching the trailer, I bought the first one on DVD and two days (today) I watched it.
And I liked it a LOT.
But that's just me who can't hate a movie.

I really liked the first one, but this one was not as good. The thing I liked about the first one was all of the clue hunting, and how it actually made (almost) sense. This one had less then that and they where more absurd. I didn't hate it though. The Goofy toon was the best part.

I bet they were trying to pre-empt Indy 4 with this because after that there'll be no call for EPIC SEMI-HISTORICAL ADVENTURE like this

Also these movies had like this sickly-looking yellow and sort of turquoise color scheme which I think must be some kind of lazy way to do color correction because the new Blade Runner DVD looks that way too and I think they ruined it

also fuckabee is a great word
