First RPG I'd ever played was Chrono Trigger and it still remains to be my favorite of all time. What about you guys?

My favorites are Terranigma and Legend of Mana....both of which I played several years after I got into the genre. So no.

My first RPG was Super Mario RPG on the snes. While I think its still the best in the SMRPG series, it certainly isn't my favorite RPG.

Chrono Trigger, FFVI are awesome, though.

The first RPG I remember playing and investing the most time in was Breath of Fire III, and interestingly enough that's how I met my best friend. And best of all it's a really solid RPG in itself, and not all nostalgia. So yes, it's my favorite.

My first was Legend of Legaia. As much as I like It I realllyy love Valkyrie Profile more.

Nope. But I still do take influences from it. My first RPG was Final Fantasy 1 for the NES. I'd use a Fighter, Monk, Thief, Red Mage party and complain about everything poisoning you in the marsh cave and Sorcerors 1 hit killing you in the Ice cave.

Final Fantasy 4 was my first I played seriously (I have memories of playing Dragon Warrior when I was stupidly young), but is not my favourite. It's up there, but it isn't at the top. That spot is reserved for it's younger brother, Final Fantasy 6.

my first was final fantasy 10 but i didn't use a condom and 9 months later final fantasy x-2 was born.
i got crabs and we never talked again.

Same here, that was the first RPG I played as well. I didn't care for it at all. I don't think I would've been anymore thrilled with any of the earlier FF series, seeing as I usually lean to the hybrid rpgs like strategy or action.

My first RPG, however, was... ... ... I think one of the Harry Potter GBC games. They are so awesome and you should at least try the Chamber of Secrets because they are so awesome, did you know that they are so awesome?
As much as I love the HP GBC games, they aren't my favorite. Sorry.

The first RPG I played was Dragon Quest which I dropped like midway through for Final Fantasy. My favorite RPG is either Chrono Trigger, Legend of Mana or Oblivion which all came years later so I'm gonna have to answer no.

The first real RPG I ever played was Final Fantasy III for NES. Could have been an early ROM, don't remember. My personal favorite RPG is FFVII however, it's simply a game I never get bored with no matter how many times I play it.

Yes yes yes. I was a big platform gamer when I was younger, then I played Final Fantasy VIII and was just HOLY SHIT. I still feel like that.

Breath of Fire II was the first RPG I played and it remains one of my favourites to this day. At at four-way tie with Suikoden II, Terranigma and Lufia II.
I wanna play some more Lufia II and Breath of Fire II but my brother borrowed my SNES, damnit! Guess I'll just have to drop a couple of hints and add a few bribes to get it back. (My brother has sticky-fingers when it comes to consoles.)

I don't even remember which was my first RPG. Maybe Illusion of Gaia if that counts. And it's not my favorite.

First RPG... well the first was the first FF... but I really didn't know much about it at first, but the first actual game I played and enjoyed was Earthbound, that game was my bible. Then I played FF6, and those two are 1st n' 2nd. Best games I've ever played, will always be my favorites, despite the better games out there.

I think I played my first rpg in 1993. It was either Shining Force or Crusaders of the Dark Savant (Wizadry), or Shadows of Darkness (Quest for Glory). I can't remember which one was first... but it was definately one of these three. Although they are still dear to me.. my favorite RPGs didn't come out until the late 90s/ early 00s.

I think it was actually Wild Arms. I got it with a pre-owned Playstation for Christmas one year! Sadly it crashed everytime I tried to exit the Library/school area with the wifie character. ) :
But FF9 is my favourite RPG, so yeah.

The first RPG that I played belonged to my brother back in the early 90's. It was Final Fantasy VI, which I remember the day that he bought it rather vividly. He played a lot of RPGs and SNES/NES games. To answer the question, FFVI is actually my SECOND favorite RPG of all time. My favorite happens to be Chrono Trigger.

no. my first was either ff7 or landstalker/crusader of centy for the genesis. landstalker does rank pretty high but id say my fave overall rpg is either alundra or guardian's crusade so.

Man, I still get goosebumps when Frog confronts Magus on the cliff.
Chrono Trigger was my first serious RPG, and it remains to this day not only my favorite RPG, but also one of my favorite games of all time. (Up there with the Smash Bros. series and Okami...)

I don't remember what my first RPG was, but the first RPG I finished was Dual Orb 2 for the SNES. It's definitely not my favorite, Okage: Shadow King is probably my favorite. I just love that whole Tim Burton-ish vibe it gives off.

My first RPG was ff7, and my second rpg was ff6. maybe thats why i'm so obsessed with final fantasy games.

The first one I probably seriously played was Earthbound. That or Super Mario RPG. I don't know, I have so many SNES memories. =/

Soul Blazer was my first rpg, and the one I've replayed the most so I guess it't my favorite.

Makes me wish Chrono Trigger was my favourite, because then I would have an ironic story about how I didn't like it when I first played it. Although I could have played FF3(6) first, and I would be willing to say that one is my favourite. I can't remember which because I played them both back when our video rental store had SNES games (and we actually went there to rent them!).

This. My first RPG was Breath of Fire III too, and it's a pretty damn fine game. Everything, from the visuals, to the music, the awesome dragon designs and a hell lot of other stuff in it just blows me away every time I play it and even when I just think about it. But, it's not my favorite. Nothing else is my favorite, actually, because I don't usually choose favorites.

SMRPG:TLot7S was the first RPG I played, and it is probably my fave gam.

Given that my first RPG was Might and Magic book One, I can't quite say it is my favorite since nearly every sequel has been quite abit better (with a few *cough* more recent exceptions) in my opinion.

My first RPG was Final Fantasy IV. Later on though I got VIII then VII, though they were both great I preferred VIII angst y themes, due to the fact maybe I was 11 years old when It came out, and I didn't know any better. Then came Final Fantasy IX, I was curious at first but to this day, the story and the theme of the game still stands out for me. Final Fantasy IX has to be my favorite RPG at the moment

My first RPG was FF2/4 (technically FF3/6, but I only get 3 hours in it), and it's definitely a game that I cherish, but it's not my absolute favorite. Persona 2 is my favorite, so far.

First RPG was Dragon Warrior I think, and it's far and away from my favourite RPG. I think the first RPG I played that I still love is FF2, by which I mean FF4.

My first RPG was Final Fantasy VII.. but it's not my favourite. I've since grown out of j-rpgs and am a fan of western more open-ended stuff. FF7 still ranks pretty high though. My favourite j-rpg for sure.

i played pokemon and its not the best because it overall never really changes its style exept for overall look with graphics and content
o and mi fave is FF, Dragon Quest, and mass effect ^^
