ITS ABOUT TIME NINTENDO GOT DOWN AND DIRTY(exept for manhunt 2 :O)
sorry for caps but nintendo is being a rockstar this year! hell halo 3 could be next XD
Ok pros and cons time:
Pros:
-assasins creed on the ds looks graphically beautiful
-nintendo finally gets a super hit game from rival consoles on its little handheld :3
-portable assasinations=ftw
Cons:
-rated "T"?! wtf?!
-with graphics these good, there must be a catch.....short time playing the game perhaps...i hope not D:
-
This is really not fit for the DS, so sorry, I think it will fail horribly.
-
Your butchery of the word "Chronicles" sickens me.
This sounds pretty gay, but I will probably pick it up some time just to see how it plays.
-
its not out yet and according to gamestop it will include:
stylus movement
easy-to-use equipment screen
takes place before the 1st game
and according to rumor and message boards:
new weapons might be included :D
MIGHT be linear....but its just a rumor
i am scepticle when it comes to DS games, call of duty 4 was great on a DS and hopefully this wont dissapoint :o
-
you forgot to mention it is the PREQUEL TO THE CONSOLE VERSION
isnt it exciting
-
I thought the box art pretty much told us that, Niitaka.
I'm not impressed, just a cash-in on (IMO) the biggest letdown of 2007.
-
Why DS, why not PSP.. fucken bitch Jade Raymond haha. It will most likely sell heaps though, I mean it's on the DS!! that thing is a gold mine.
And Kitsune I wouldn't say it was a let down, I thought Assassins Creed was a great game, besides, you have a 666 post count so your evil haha.
-

I love how the big selling point is that it's the PREQUEL TO THE CONSOLE VERSION
-
considering assassin's creed only real saving grace was the combination of its huge, flowing, relatively seamless and bustling world and amazing graphics, i'm going to go ahead and say this will blow terribly since it is not even really conceivable for it to have either. i guess maybe the exploration factor might still be there to some extent, but the areas wouldn't be nearly as big and would probably be more like ZONES than one seamless city, and who wants to explore in some grainy, low-res version of damascus to begin with?
but yeah awesome !!!!
-
ok.....i have been gone way too long -.-
how many sarcastic jackasses are there on this forum now?
ok maybe the DS does not have the greatest graphics but look at games like FFIII, metroid prime hunters, or super mario 64 DS
some titles on the DS look great
-
However we are talking abou, graphically, a next gen game on the Xbox 360 and PS3 with hundreds of NPCs on screen at once in some places. It just isn't going to have the same feel, and personally, I think this is just another way to cash in money (as I think any game on a console today shouldn't be ported to a handheld because it is usually crap in comparison).
Also, why is it being rated T (because you fucking interrogate and kill people) a con? Are you under 13 or something?
EDIT: Also, your argument that other games have looked previously good is a false analogy. Since one game looks good, that does not mean other games will look good. The people developing the game are different people who developed FFIII, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Super Mario 64 DS. The graphics in the ad don't look that great.
-
Hopefully it won't be the same thing over and over like the original
Go here, kill this man, listen to to this conversation, pick pocket this guy, Make assassination. Repeat.
-
I don't see what we know that we didn't know already, other than that the game is confirmed. There's really no telling how the graphics will look, seeing as the image is blurry as hell. I've been wanting to place AC, but I don't have a PS3 or Xbox 360, so if this comes out before the PC version, I'll keep track of it.
-
Why do so many people hate Assassin's Creed?

What else is an Assassin supposed to do?
-
If the stylus oriented movement and action controls are anything like Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, that aspect of the game could be pretty nice.
-
Hopefully they don't try to make a handheld version of the console game, if you know what I mean
It should be specifically a handheld style game
-
I haven't played the game but it looked mad epic and I can't see this being a worthwhile adventure on a DS where you can't make out anything

that would make the game cool but you would be in dire need of a stylus!
they can be lost easily :O
edit:
current release date confirmed: Febuary 2008 (i have no doubts of there being delays though)

This looks pretty terrible. Just another attempt at Ubisoft making cheap versions of it's games on other consoles to rake in money. They did that with Prince of Persia before. God forbid Sands of Time had a GBA version...
Same for Raving Rabbids. It has a GBA version.... that has nothing to do with the other games at all.

yo this is like the single worst argument in the history of arguments. well of course it is boring and highly repetitive and totally lacking in variety what do you think being a REAL ASSASSIN is about??? (ps dont you know anything about games absolute realism >>> funfactor and enjoyment)
well aboutasoandthis i somehow (idk how) get the impression that being a REAL LIFE ASSASSIN actually entails slightly more than picking some guy's pocket, listening in on a conversation that's barely above a whisper and hearing it perfectly from fifty feet away, beating the piss out of some guy in public, then wrapping it up with a hasty assassination that was somehow made possible by the incredibly basic information the first three tasks provided you with, and repeating this process throughout the entirety of your career. maybe i'm WAY OFF THE MARK dude but that is just the impression i get.

I don't think the 3D characters are doing it any favours, it looks suspiciously similar to Pirates of the Caribbean for DS.
It pretty much guarantees that you won't see more than 3-5 characters on-screen and as for exploration, it'll probably take the same approach as PotC.
2D characters over the 3D environments would have been preferable if they want to maintain the appeal of the game.
I imagine this game is going to be it's own thing, whether that's a good thing or not.
Probably not a game to get excited over but it could be a fun portable game in it's own right, maybe.

Wasn't that the point of the entire game? You weren't some over the top superhero killing everything left and right. The main character tried that and was first punished for it. You were a normal person who was doing his job.
You can argue that I don't know anything about assassinations. I've never met a real assassin. However I do have a friend who is a practicing Ninja, with a master and everything, and I'm assuming it's the same thing. A ninja is trained to avoid combat at all times and when they killed in the past the goal was to be as silent and clean as possible. I thought the game was very accurate and exciting. If there were any real problems with the game, they would be techical issues, like the stupid guards or the broken counterattacking system.
Why bother arguing about this, especially with the Realism > Otherworldly Gameplay idea? I have Shadow of the Colossus as my avatar. You should have seen this coming. :shady:

Man I am so out of touch with non-pc gaming... but I last recall assassins creed being about the crusades where you're essentially a hoody wearing assassin. Why does the guy in those screens look exactly like Stormshadow, Cobra Commader's bodyguard from G.I. Joe?
Also maybe this will be good? The DS is long overdue for another good game. There's only been about 4 since it came out :/

This version of Assassin's Creed actually looks like a GAME! I'm interested.

There are more good games besides just the Phoenix Wright series and one other game you know!

What does this game have to do with hellgate: london?

who said I was on about thems...

Nah, that would imply people had expectations that UT3 would be more than a fancy graphiced deathmatch.

True, after UT2k4 being just a more grapical UT2k2, I should've known better.
Anyways, back to topic.
I don't know how the hype for this game can be anywhere near that of the original Assassin's Creed, which was a game made from a unique idea, and brought out in the vision of that idea. This DS version was made solely to bank on the franchise, and wasn't started in production as an idea for a DS game, it was started as an idea to make a profit on a console game. The changes to gameplay weren't for change of pace, they had to change it to fit within hardware limitations. If they could've made an exact mini replica of AC, they would've. Most these portable versions of console hits are just like previously stated, to bank in on a franchise. Granted, some of them don't suck ass, but the intent is still there. Now what's REALLY sad is when the console game has nothing but awesome graphics going for it, and they'll come out with portable versions of them that most the time have a lower quality and complexity of gameplay, like farcry or oblivion.

I guess...although I still have my original stylus, the special Phantom Hourglass feather stylus and the secondary extra that comes with the DSLite as it is, so I'm set. :P
If this does come in Feb. though, I may get that to start off with since Ninja Gaiden is now confirmed for sometime in March.
