So this is the next release from canadian post-hardcore/metal/whatever you wanna call em Protest the Hero. Politically infused thrash metal rock with melodic lyrics and riffs. This album revolves around the idea of goddess worship and the way it was driven in to nothingness by patriarchal religion.
Don't let the philisophical stuff fool you though. This is a hard hitting album and its a massive improvement from their previous impressive release, Kezia. Such a young band doing such great things.
The album's leaked earlier this week, for those interested. I think the myspace has all of their songs.

I've been listening to this album for a while now.
I like to think of it as Colors jr. Its got alot of fun stuff and some sweet riffs.
My only complaint is that they got a little to happy with sweeps. The one thing I actually
ended up liking the most was the piano interlude between spoils and wretch.
I definitely like this album more than Kezia, definitely more varied than Kezia and flows a little better rhythmically. But they still seem shred happy. On that note, Arif's bass parts are definitely a step up.

I love Kezia. Fortress I also love. They are pretty different, so I Love Them Both You Know What I Am Saying.
Idk if I'd call it "Colors" jr. Thats an extreme comparison, no? The only REAL btbam moment was one of the sweepy parts where it sounded a lotttt like selkies.

I wasn't comparing BTBAM to PTH, It was more of like a comparison between Kezia and Fortress, as in, Pth has definitely progressed from Kezia, as BTBAM did with Colors.

Im listening to them on myspace, and theyre pretty good. Good guitars, good vocalist, weird time frames galore, etc. The only thing I dont like is that it sounds like they loop some of their riffs[as ][/as], ick. Also the guitars seem too random for my taste. But I still think theyre good.
First time listening to them btw.

they take some time to get used to.
Alot of people complain about the vocals.
I used to loathe the vocals, they eventually grew on me though.
I don't personally know whether they loop or not so I can't say anything about that.

so what is so great about this band
-
they produce a good sound, unlike most bands in the genre
