Well met gamers, gamesmasterjasper here.
For those of you who don't know me, I am a somewhat well-known gamesmaster, connoisseur and critic around the web. Like you, I spend a lot of time in front of the console (s - in my case), but perhap a bit more so as I am always trying to educate myself on the subject of gaming. I constantly try to stay ahead of gaming trends, culture, and in some cases - unfortunately - lies and deceit.
This brings me to the subject of this topic, which I have created on numerous gaming forums in order to advertise the first episode of my new show, gamesmasterjasper's Bullshit: An Inconvenient Gaming Truth. In it, I will unveil corporate gaming lies that will hopefully turn your world upside-down and open your eyes to the trickery that is being employed by certain people in order to taint the gaming experience of the every-day consumer.
So please, if you feel even remotely moved or affected by games or gaming in any way, I strongly urge you to watch this.

I totally agree with you gamesmasterjasper. Copyright infringement is like a cancer on our precious community, and because of it, I cannot tell what is official Ikkitousen and what is not. It is good to see people like you fighting the good fight ^_^

Jasper, you and I go way back and I'm proud to call you a friend of mine but I personally feel this was uncalled for. In fact, it's even a little hypocritical of you to call me out on copyright infringement when your avatar is a fan drawing. Where would we be today without doujinshis, GMJ? Where would we be without fan mangas? You yourself were talking positively about the doujinshi game Tohou the other day. What about that?
Still, I'm not taking it too personally, as I know it was not a personal attack on me, and I'm still glad to call you a friend and a colleague.

I am inclined to agree with you, GMJ.
See, I've known user CBoyardee for about four or five years now. There was a time when he was cool... when he cared about the gaming scene. He and I would laugh together... we'd cry together... while playing the best of the best.
But he's changed... his recent Barkley antics are laughable and Black Hommer is just disgusting. User CBoyardee is a fraud and a disgrace not only to gaming but to the internet. I have requested he be demodded and BANNED on several occasions but the admins are too caught up with their Ganja and their soldat.
If you're ready to wage war and make gaming honourable again... I'm on your side... gamemasterjasper.

Well, I wouldn't say never. I think proper gaming etiquette dictates that a gamer can cheat as long as he or she has completed the game at least once without cheating.
Ahh, I sense a gaming debate, though unfortunately I do not have time to participate (ironically due to gaming *chuckles*). I will leave you with a quote that I feel accurately represents my standpoint on this issue.

honestly, i'm a little tired of seeing this kind of debate pop up without considering the core issue, which is :-
not all gamers are capable of playing a game without the aid of cheats. and games must be played, yes? yes, i think we can all accept that as an axiom. so, this is the dillemma: what are those who are incapable of playing games to do without the help of "cheats", or as i like to call them, game assists. tips and tricks can assist some of the less severe case of gaming disability, but in reality tips do not address those who "stuck", and tricks are only appicable to specific disabilities.
i mean, in a perfect world there would be a tip or trick for every gamer, for ever gaming situation, but news flash - we are not living in a perfect world. some gamers need to employ the use of cheats in order to play the game with any degree of success. i know some gaming conservatives look upon cheats as immoral but frankly this mode of thinking is outdated and monumentally insensitive. now look i don't want to upset everyone, my gaming stances are not the issue here. the issue is cheats.
tidbit: did you know that many games these days are opting to not include cheats?
i also hear dismissive comments like "oh games are so easy nowadays anyway". oh really? well perhaps you ought to tell that to the young man i met who could not go on playing the latest nintendo wii game his grandmother bought him for his birthday because it was "too hard!!!!". perhaps you ought to tell that to those retro-gamers who like to game nostalgic, or god forbid, CANNOT afford to buy the latest games and must stick to old ones.

You know, I can see why someone wouldn't like the show, but at least Tim and Eric are being ORIGINAL. Also, the show isn't really even that popular as far as I can tell.
I'm convinced that most people think videos of other people falling down and hurting themselves is the funniest thing in the goddamn universe. Surrealism and absurdity are a refreshing change of pace. Sites like Youtube are a kind of double-edged sword for entertainment: on the one hand you've got original (maybe not always funny, but original), creative videos and stuff you can't see anywhere else, and the site brings an audience to people that otherwise wouldn't have a chance of having one. On the other hand, you've got 1000+ videos of people lip syncing to music while they sit at their computer. Also:
Art is not, and has never been, subjective.
"Art is subjective" is usually a term used to justify the insufficient pedagogical practices of self righteous dredges who believe themselves true artists despite their complete disregard for the principles of effective design...
Saying that art is in the eye of the viewer is nothing more than self-interested postmodernist bullshit requiring a concerted ignorance of the history and legacy of artistic achievement.

this isn't what i am posting to say, but tim and eric is not just trying to be as amatuer as possible, it's a mockery of some of the awful things we've all seen on television. infommercials, game shows, reality tv, very special programmes - etc. that isn't what this topic is about but it's telling because you don't get tim and eric, i'm not saying it is the best show i have ever seen, but you don't get it and it makes me think you are applying the same stupidity in your argument against this topic and generalising it to all satire, irony and parody because you just don't get it and it kind of pisses you off.

the reason people watch this stuff is because it's funny, and it's funny because it's making some kind of point about the bullshit that continues to succeed in entertainment and art while presenting it's argument in a funny way! i'm not going to get into how it's funny because okay that is up to taste. you don't think satire is funny, then fair enough. you don't need to think it's funny, but you should understand that it is not just OH MAN LET'S MAKE A SHITTY COMMERICAL IT'LL BE SOOOO FUNNY. they are making fun of something terrible, because laughing at something is a good way of moving on, and that is not complacency. you are the complacent one, the one who is okay with something being "derivative and unoriginal as hell", if it shows whatever your skewed perception of what talent is.

I don't like post 9/11 world. I never liked post 9/11 world, and I doubt there will ever be a point in my life where I "get" post 9/11 world (including what seperates a great topic from a shit topic in that god-forsaken place).
I figured I might as well admit that now. It'd be nice if there was someway I could learn why this is the case, but that kind of introspection seems counter-intuitive to the whole idea of post 9/11 world in the first place.
