Seriously, think about it.
What genrebenders and musical mashups have you never heard? I myself have never heard speed-metal with a country twang.
-
rome-italian neoclassical post-progressive emocore
well, apart from linkin park of course.
-
Is it bad to say I like Linkin Park on this site?
Either way, their use of turntablism (and to a much lesser extent, rap) really got its claws in me deep. (Then again I was like 11 (Bismuth Christ) or so when they came out).
I still like the MUSIC, though. The lyrics make me rage.

good question... :fogetmmh:

Yes

Shepperd Music is a genre by its own bouheauhea
-
Christian psychedelic big-band hardcore p-funk-sampling Ukrainian folk-music. It's an untapped niche market.
-
To record the sound giraffes make when thrown into an oven and loop it for 33 hours, this hasn't been done before
-
That's good point, there hasn't been much recording of torturing animals/people.

lustmord
And I want to hear ragga ragtime

I might remember this wrong but I'm pretty sure I've heard a Megadeth song that was a mix of speed-metal and country.
But I can guarantee you there exists several bands that do this style. And there's a reason why it's not a major genre.
-
Rap and country. Is this even possible?
-
it's possible. There are some really shitty fuckers going around and calling themselves "hick-hop."
-
Wha...seriously?
-
Rap and country. Is this even possible?
I believe The Gourds, a Texan roots band, have covered Snoop Dogg's "Gin And Juice" on one of their albums... And interestingly enough, the end result? It didn't suck.

I don't think anyone ever did music for deaf persons
-
I don't think anyone ever did music for deaf persons
there's plenty of music for deaf people
-
Hell there are music LESSONS for deaf people. Even if they write a song for themselves they are writing for deaf people.
-
Then I must admit that everything that could be done was already done
-
How about Rap-ra? A cross between Rap and Opera. (PTizzle I am challenging you to make some, knowing your rapping skillz)
-
do you mean like
man no rap opera would sound stupid as hell!
-

there is industrial lies by cybotron (http://www.gamingw.net/pubaccess/37686/lies.mp3) and two other songs by them but i don't know any other guitar driven techo or whatever. i don't really listen to techno so i don't know if people do this or not, but i think it would be a neat idea.
-
Ya, I don't think there is very much people haven't done. But the country/ hiphop and rock/gospel type mash ups seem to be the least.

hahaha what?

tejanocore

Why man? Rock/metal opera is just creating characters to sing the separate parts... it's still rock/metal. The same can be applied to any genre that has lyrics.
Actually this exists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rap_opera

Bubba Sparxxx! Nuff said. He actually did it well.

I don't know how that'd work, although I have rapped over a beat which sampled Opera. Was a while back now.

I want to hear some Christian black metal. :fogetnaughty:

Well I think it's been a long time since artists were willing to strictly and narrowly define themselves by one genre so . . . I'm going to say Rock.

that's because rock as a term doesn't mean anything specific and even then, The Hold Steady.
this topic kind of sucks shit btw.
HOW ABOUT...DOOM RAP?
WHERE'S MY STONER JAZZ FUSION ELECTRO?????
-

I don't know it just seems to me that in interviews when people are asked to describe themselves it's always well we play rock slash something slash something slash et cetera well really we have a lot of influences so we can't really pin our unique sound down hahah. Fans describe music the same way. Also, when you go to MySpace Music pages every fucking band descrives themselves as indie slash alternative slash something slash eyeliner.

that's because myspace gives you three descriptors and very few people like putting the same thing three times.
rock as a qualifier means about as much as jazz or pop. it only means you have a guitar/drums/bass focus and you have a singer and you like to "rock out" basically. not accurate wholely but honestly rock is pretty meaningless as an overarching term. it's like saying Xenakis and Stravinsky are both classical musicians. they are but they couldn't be more different.

what hasn't been done?
southern gospelcore
