Hello, Gaming World.

As you may have noticed, I am no longer an administrator. I really can't get into details as to what has happened, but... I've really done something truly terrible.

So suffice to say, as of today (Tuesday, March 11th, 2008) I am no longer a part of the Gaming World forums or website. I'm sorry that I will not be around.

Keeping this short, I'll end by letting you all know that the staff is now looking for new Admins, and you are asked to submit a resume by Private Message to DragonSlayer. Anyone may apply.

It is with a heavy heart that I must also express my recommendation of Alexander Morou. It was not an easy decision to make following the resignation of such a loved and valued member of Gaming World society, but, alas, a decision that was inevitable.

That guy is so friendly and helpful and it must've been one hell of a wrong to counterbalance all those rights that he's done over the years.

If this is legit it is a seriously bad day for GW.

For everyone who doesn't think this is serious, you're dead wrong.

ramirez didn't want to get into details because he's so ashamed of what he's done. Unfortunately now that Dada has outed him... I guess there's nothing left to say... we can't keep it a secret.

He was given the choice of being forcibly removed and having his mistake revealed, or stepping down and keeping what little dignity he still had.

I can't say I feel sorry for him, but it is pretty unfortunate it had to come out like this.

Dada, you should know better than anyone that mod problems don't leave the mod forum. You were given the privilege to continue having access after being removed and you've abused it.

Considering that rami has contributed to this site (code wise) than almost everyone else here, it's a serious blow and a shame to see him go. It's also strange considering the circumstances, it's pretty ambiguous and hazy as to what happened, but I don't want to push it. Call me terrible, but who will actually replace rami and actually be competent at the job? Wasn't rami working on GW6?

Considering the zoo contains 350 GB of data the very notion that there would be 16 TB of illegal indecent material that is is ~46.81 times larger than the Zoo's maximum Capacity, leaves me to believe that there's something amiss.

It's their joke on me with regards to my verbosity and common habit of over-analyzing things.  Thus, to make the joke true, they have each, in their own way, portrayed me in their various ways.  I find it amusing to a degree; however, I think that they will still fall short of truly emulating myself.  I don't say this to be pretentious, but rather you can notice subtle, oft drastic, differences between their manner of speech (or lexical output, if you want to be weird) and my own.

Here's a step by step for those who are still unaware of what happened (the news is spreading quickly and rumours are beginning to appear).

As the Zoo Moderator, it's my job to check what goes up on the zoo and make sure everyone is abiding by the rules. For the most part everyone does that.

A few nights ago I was going through the logs, and I noticed there were some hidden files. Upon checking out what they were... I was pretty disgusted. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't like CHILDREN. It was young teens (14ish). Some people don't have a problem with that... we do. So I tracked the IP and found out who it was, and had a private discussion with the admins about what to do.

DragonSlayer had known for a short while but ramirez had promised to get rid of it all. This is why AvalancheStudios was being shut down. He's... pretty shaken up by this.

The whole 15TB thing was an exaggerated estimate... but it was a lot.

So the admins and a few of the mods, (omeg, bunnymilk, jeff, ase and myself) discussed the problem and decided we needed to take action before things got worse. And that's why this has happened.

The mod FTP and zoo are on the same server, just in case you're wondering.

Well you can't really wrong rami as a lot of you folks aren't fully aware of the details. What you know is small hints in general terms and it really isn't enough to judge a person. I'm also appalled by how a lot of you turned against ramirez regardless of all the things he did for you in the past. ramirez is, afterall, a human. Humans have needs, desires, sins, and other dark secrets that are best left in the dark. I think anyone who judges ramirez is a hypocrite because they should judge themselves.

So, any news on who's going to replace you, ramirez?

Why would he bother hosting it on the internet?

If he wanted it off of his computer he could of just hid it on disc somewhere, I mean uploading stuff makes it obvious and easy to trace.

i think that i need to explain how all of this went down

this all started with a harmless joke of changing alexander morou's name to police inspector alexander morou because of his seriousness and attentiveness on the mod forum. ok so i changed his name and linguar suspected it was jester due to something else that just happened on the mod forum so i decided to use the opportunity to frame jester for the name change (even though he cant change names) as a joke. after some time linguar found out that it wasnt jester and i felt that it was time for the joke to end and told it was me and said i would take full responsibility for the joke and as an another joke unadmin'd myself (was supposed to last for like few mins). but then sarah suggested on irc that i should post a resignation topic on general as a joke. so i thought yeah why not this is enough fucked up joke already so that's how this topic got made. now after sometime dada said that wouldn't it be funny if he posted that "that's what you get for posting child porn on the zoo" and on spur of the moment we all thought yeah hahaha that'd be awesome go for it without really thinking of it at all. so here we are some people actually thinking i would upload child porn on the zoo (and i really need to ask you people what the fuck i thought you knew me better than that :cry: i guess you cant trust anyone on the internet)

so basically this all started from a harmless joke amongst the mods and due to some fucked up progression ended up in me resigning due to posting child porn. this topic alone as a joke is not funny but when you think of the big picture it's pretty funny and everyone who's been on irc today from the start knew it was a joke i just didn't think that anyone would take this seriously but apparently some people did so sorry........

as an apology i will code a tagging system for the site during today.

It was all very fun. Especially all of the Alexander stuff this morning.

I felt really bad about the child porn thing, but I had to work with what Omeg had already started. I tried to LESSEN THE BLOW by saying it was 14 year olds instead of young childs because of how bad I felt. If anyone noticed my posts kept being deleted to correspond with the other stories people were posting, too, haha.

We were originally planning on pinning rami's resignation on Alex, publicly, until the child porn idea arose.

What a mistake :(

The first not-serious replies (Alexander Morou stuff) really didnt fit the dramatic RAMI HAS CHILD PORN scenario. I have no idea how anyone could have fallen for it. I took it seriously (thinking maybe he was just tired of all the work on GW6 or something?) until the first serious posts about DESPICABLE THINGS, they just didnt fit the earlier ones' tone.

There is nothing wrong with underage pornography because

1) different countries have different laws.  I don't know the laws of Finland, but if Avalance Studio servers are hosted anywhere other than America then this isn't illegal

and
