According to Chris Cooper, much of Col. Fitts' backstory was eliminated from the final script, which Cooper says that Fitts' character was a closeted homosexual, who lost his lover during the Vietnam War.
Annie Wilkes needs to be a little higher up on that list, holy shit she scares me like crazy.
Kathy Bates played that role so well that no matter WHAT kind of movie you see her (or even someone that looks KIND OF LIKE HER) in you get chills down your spine.
I think part of the downright creepiness of that Mystery Man guy is that somehow at that exact angle it feels like he's staring at a third person but at the same time you're being stared directly at it's like he has the ALL-SEEING EYE or something
Edit: Maybe they bluescreened in a different pair of eyes or something

Wonderful list!yes yes yes
But you forgot Sam Neill from Event Horizon. The only movie to absolutely TERRIFY me. I literally could not sleep after I saw this movie.
hey thanks :(
I think the only character that has actually effected me, to be honest, is Denzel Washington when he plays Alonzo in "Training Day." Seriously.I was thinking the same thing, I was watching that movie the other day...I want to watch it again.

If anyone had the chance to see the Funny Games remake (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808279/) last Friday, then you'd know why I'm posting in this thread.
Essentially, because of my pretentiousness/artsy-ness, I'll say that watching this movie makes you the villain as well. But the two kids play their parts pretty well as sociopathic, but polite, deliquints. Their a lot more likable and funny, in my opinion, in the remake than they were in the German original. Whether that took away from the film is kinda debatable, because I felt pretty shitty laughing at a lot of there jokes.
Off the top of my head, I would add Tom Cruise from Collateral. Even though he's gotten a case of the crazies recently, he still is a good actor and Vincent was fucking psychotic. He seemed invincible in the film at times, especially when he was in the club. :D
