Title: The Dark Knight gets a second villain
Post by: WackFiend on March 17, 2008, 01:15:41 am
We all knew with Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, Two-Face was bound to show up at some point:

Link (http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/03/07/aaron-eckhart-confirms-two-face-and-two-performances-in-dark-knight/)

The scenes of the two takes of Two-Face sound amazing.  The only thing I am worried about is if Joker and Two-Face are going to have to fight over screen time.  I would much rather have Two-Face just set up in TDK and get his own film later on.  Batman Begins seemed rather Scarecrow heavy and barely touched on Rhas Al-Ghul, and that was ok because Rhas Al-Ghul is nowhere near as iconic as either of these.  I hope Christopher Nolan can do them justice.

EDIT: Apparently some really blurry images of the TDK Two-Face figure have surfaced:

I mean, I like Two-face and all, but I was hoping this movie would exclusively feature the Joker as the antagonist and he would get a lot of screen time cause this is the best looking incarnation yet. Spider-man 3 was crappy because they introduced Venom when the movie was more than half finished and Sandman disappeared for like an hour while all of this happened. The villains were spread too thin and you ended up with emo Peter Parker dancing on-screen for a long time.

Also... was I the only one who laughed at Bruce Wayne's change in voice when he was Batman? He spoke in a slightly deeper and raspier voice, but somehow it fooled EVERYONE!

it makes more sense than talking in your normal voice and nobody recognizing it, especially your love interest.

ok so wait a minute

we all know that superheros dont reveal their identities because then the badguys could find where they live and kill them in their sleep and hurt their loved ones etc. etc.

but i mean has a villain ever tried to rob bruce wayne?

i mean that dude is loaded if i was a bad guy i would totally try to rob him

I once saw this batman cartoon though where old man Bruce Wayne totally wailed on a gang of hoodlums with his cane. I'm guessing only Gotham's petty crooks rob houses, the kind who don't even bother wearing tights for their criminal activities, so once word got out that bruce wayne is unusually good at dealing with thieves for some rich fuck they leave him alone.

Now all we need is kaworu or psyburn to come in here and tell me my post isn't canon

I always thought Two-Face was pretty cool, but man... After seeing the blurry picture of the action figure, I hope they don't make his face too disgusting in the movie.

No, I meant that Christian Bale could have done a better job altering his voice. He's a really good actor, but that was just horrible and actually made me laugh out loud.

Oh, and for Two-Face, the more disgusting the better. I always imagined him to look hideous to the point he was actually scary.

It's a safe bet that he won't look as silly as Tommy Lee Jones version of Two Face (a perfect line between the faces). Nolan's version of Batman is much more realistic than the previous films in terms of design. Two Face in this film will most likely look more disgusting than earlier, something I look forward too.

However... If Two Face will be a main badguy in the next film I really hope they'll throw a new villain into the mix as well. I mean... three new Batman films and only two previously unused villains (Ras and scarecrow). Be a bit creative...

Two face would be a more interesting character without all that purple shit on his face unless there's some plot reason for it to be there.

waging a war....in his mind

Well, he had acid thrown on his face, which caused the disfigurement. But why is it purple though? No idea. Purple seems to be the color of evil in Gotham apparently.

That's not two-face, that's 1 and one third face!

Bazing...

For realish though, Dudesoft your post is flawed by way of HEATH LEDGER IS DEAD.
Supposedly Scarecrow is in this movie too, most likely batman will go to prison and say "i need a criminal to help me catch a criminal." But I'm hoping to gawd Two-Face isn't the new venom, and if he is, they better find some new ground to cover in the next movie, should there be one.

When we're on the subject of "Stupid people of Gotham City", why doesn't anyone find it odd that when Bruce Wayne returns after being gone for 7 years, Batman appears for the first time.

People of Gotham sure are ignorant.

^ I don't understand

I don't know all that much about Batman, but the change in Batman/Bruce voice isn't just to fool people about his true identity. It's supposed to be one more element to his role. I think in Year One(?) batman roars some African lion roars or something.. you know, to freak people out.

Also I think the change in his voice(in Batman Begins) was quite big rather than a slightly deeper and raspier voice. Like he was almost growling all the time.

I'm not sure this is really true, I read an interview with the director who said Harvey Dent was the real villain of the movie and Joker didn't have as huge a part as the advertising made out.

I sure hope the dialogue isn't like that of Batman Begin, where every line in the movie is repeated later.

Examples:
"Nice coat"
"Finders keepers"
"Didn't you get the memo? "
"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me. "
"mind your surroundings"
"You haven't given up on me yet?" "Never!"
"Why do we fall, sir? So that we might better learn to pick ourselves up. "
"various charitable foundations, and trusts, and so forth. Look, it's all a bit technical"

Aside from dialogue I really liked Batman Begins, so I'm definitely looking forward to this. Though I do hope they focus on one and only one villain, especially if the Joker is involved.
