Got a new computer a few weeks ago, and still adjusting to it, I have one question, is there an update for Windows Vista that will allow me to use rm2k, not rm2k3 (i can get to that.) So this is all new to me... -_-;
-
Windows Vista won't let you use RM2k? That's pretty lame, but I guess it makes sense, seeing how old RPG Maker 2000 is. Does XP work fine, or do you not like XP?
-
Disable UAC (From User Settings, not recommended though) or right click the RM2k application and select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR".
When creating a project make sure the folder is under your private folder and not under program files, C: root or anywhere else.
-
I clicked "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" and it still says "This operating system is not supported, and I have it on my desktop.
-
Try right clicking on it and going to 'properties', then to the 'compatibility' tab and select 'run this program in compatibilty mode for' and try XP, 2000, and 98 in that order (if vista even has those options).
-
I can't get fucking anything to run on Vista...
-
guess you should just stop using ancient, badly coded software then... :/
-
RPG maker runs fine for me under vista with no special settings. (Aside from setting the project folder to outside of program files)

Is it rm2k, and not rm2k3? I can run rm2k3 fine, but I wanna get rm2k on.
The winner is goat, I did what you did and was able to install rm2k, you win a cookie. Thanks. :D

Ah, I might not have tested with 2000
