Full story, I assume. (http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/front/la-me-heston6apr06,1,2698820.story)
Bummer (Click to reveal)Charlton Heston, the Oscar-winning actor who achieved stardom playing larger-than-life figures including Moses, Michelangelo and Andrew Jackson and went on to become an unapologetic gun advocate and darling of conservative causes, has died. He was 84.
Heston died Saturday at his Beverly Hills home, said family spokesman Bill Powers. In 2002, he had been diagnosed with symptoms similar to those of Alzheimer's disease.
I am really depressed to hear about this since I've been a pretty big fan of his acting since I was 7. Too many topic icons can relate to him (Religion, Politics, Movies, Science).
He taught us so much about apes and processed food. I'll really miss his crusty, rugged manface.

Judah Ben-Hur is dead.

My opinion of him was tarnished when he tried to claim that school shootings have nothing to do with weapons. He used to be the president of the NRA, after all.

Whoah for real? I don't really know why, but this seems really odd. Like, I know he was pretty old and all of that, but still... Yeah.
-
Someone pry his gun from his cold dead hands.
Someone do it.
-
Man I watched all of the planet of the apes movies few days ago. Strange.
-
hey this dude is a pretty awesome actor so :(
-
Good actor, but later in life he was a little.. weird.
RIP Charlton.
-
It's not a big surprise, but it's sad to see him go. RIP Charlton Heston.
-
He was the first celebrity I ever met and got an autograph from.

easy joke but still worth it.
you was a bad man Mr. Heston and it's too bad you died before you could not be crazy.
-
this is terrible. Planet of the Apes is one of my favourite movies.
-
If he had died 35 years ago this would be a great tragedy, but as it stands it's just sad. He used to be a champion (or something) of civil rights and pro-everything good and then suddenly he went batshit insane and became a super-Republican.
He was still an awesome actor despite his political affiliation in later life, and so hopefully people will remember him for his performances rather than his NRA speeches.
-
Finally. Fucking NRA.
-
and pro-gun control faggots around the world rejoice as the nra gives him a viking funeral with a 21 gun salute.
...oh, *insert heston movie quote SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!*

his movies were dope but his real life persona was nutter. RIP old man Heston i guess~!
-
he was pretty awesome up until he became a nutty conservative!

at the risk of sounding one note (BOBBY FISCHER), many people would argue Heston's real legacy is his single handed reviving of the gun lobby and all his conservative political work. I personally don't rejoice at anyone's death but Heston was kind of a dick who had a great deal of influence on this country.
-
Now, please don't get me wrong. He did a shitload of awesome movies and might have been a great actor. On the other hand, he was a major prick. I honestly believe gun lobby will never do a country ANY good. I'm not the kind to go around "Well, I fucking hope this guy dies now", but I can on ocassion be happy over someone's death. There's two reasons for this:
1) The guy was a prick.
2) Even if he wasn't, he died after a long and probably fullfilling life. Why would you be sad? Because he didn't live long enough to lose control of his fucking sphincters?

You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!
