Title: Warrior Epic
Post by: Chuga Choo Train on April 07, 2008, 09:10:07 pm
A relatively new company, Possibility Space may have in fact created the potentially best free mmo ever.

Their headquarters are in Beijing, China and Austin, Texas. Now, most of these asian mmo's are complete crap even with their American counterparts, but there's a key difference here. Much unlike other famous free mmos like Maplestory or Gunbound, the American version is being developed at the exact same time as it's alternatives. Not only that, but their is stacked. Seriously.

The founders have been key contributors to several hit titles. Some of their past projects include Battle for Middle Earth II, Gears of War, Starcraft, Age of Mythology, Command and Conquer III, and the Sims series. In addition to game experience, their art directors have been visual designers for feature films including Star Wars Episode III, Transformers, Mission Impossible, The Island, The Day After Tomorrow, and others.

So what has this team brought to us?

The game is however still in development, and the guys themselves did a beautiful job explaining the game themselves so rather then completely repeat what they said here, I'm going to point out certain things that stand out as well as give some screenshots and other goodies. :}

Looks uh.. kinda dull. I don't get what there is to be excited about, here.

Well, I guess if you are unable to play the pay to play MMOs and havent experienced everything I saw in that trailer 50 times already then yeah it would be more exciting.

ps the graphics can get as pretty as they like, but mmo animations are still terrible :/

I'm not sold. Sounds and looks like yet another boring asian MMORPG.

This game does not do the word 'epic' justice. It actually looks really lame.

This game makes 4chan faggots look intelligent using the word 'epic'.

This can not be the best free MMO ever because the best free MMO ever has already been created:

Ok, I didn't think it was bad to the point of being repulsive. The best free mmo ever might of been overkill, but whatever. :P
Just wanted to share this with you guys.

PS, the word epic wasn't created by 4chan. God I hate internet memes so much.

Well it's weird there's a bunch of different artists and the music spastically goes from pretty Baroque-era harpsichord solos to all-out trance.  And yes some of it is by DJ Tiesto but it has pretty girls so

Erm... the graphics are good? Seriously it doesn't look that good at all.

I have yet to play a good F2P MMO that is still good after level 20-something (that's about the time I get tired of grinding).

I would say Guild Wars but it only has 20 lvls.

Well it's designed to require minimal grind but we'll see.
Closed beta should start within a week or so, so I'll soon find out if it actually as amazing as I say.

Silk Road is supposedly good after lvl 20 because that's when the trader system unlocks (mind you, I've never reached 20 because of the lag hell on their servers, so I can't say if it's any good).

No it isn't I got to lvl 26 in SRO before I gave it up... it was meh.  Too much grinding and too many identical quests.

Edit: Actually it doesn't sound that bad... it actually sound like I would play it.

I agree. Silkroad was total crap.

Btw, I think I may have managed to get a heap of closed beta accounts, so if this turns out to be the case, I'll make sure to send one your way.

Oh yeah, I failed to mention the game is heavily based on grouping and instances. (It'll have pvp options and an auction house as well.)
