Oh god this thread is so cute.

"RIP" is a way of showing respect for a dead person.

Really ?
With my translator i understand that is something wild. (to rip)
But i dont understand if its something used for a relationship or the opposite, when someone is angry.

But if you say "Rest in peace", its different. Its an expression.

Sorry, and thanks, its reaaallly important for me, then i thought, ah maybe the solution is to ask the question to the RM community. :)

RIP in capital letters means Rest In Peace - something people put on gravestones.

if you mean rip in the context of these forums, it means to take graphics from a video game. you are ripping the graphics out the game.

i'm always willing to help out a french

Arf the sentence wont help us. Its a detached sentence.
Its just something like "RIP John, thanks to the Jack mother fucking Patterson"

real_jamicus -> Yeah i know for the context of these forums and its impossible in this sentence.
Thanks to explain the capital letters, that mean probably "rest in peace".

RIP is just an abbreviation of Rest In Peace. I take that sentence to roughly mean "John is dead because of Jack motherfucking Patterson."

Yes, as Despain and jamicus said, "R.I.P." is the acronym for "Rest in Peace" just like "U.S.A." is the acronym for "United States of America."

Also, R.I.P. can often be found at cemeteries on tombstones or gravestones.

Anyways, this topic won't lead to much more discussion, so I will lock it.
